  1. People said (some still do) the same about automatic gearboxes, the Tesla P85d is not dull to drive at all, its a shedload of money of course but its not a dull driving experience, in comparison I'm not sure a Leaf is any less exciting than a diesel Focus but people like to justify their prejudices Had quite a bit of experience with yank cars in the past but wouldn't entertain a LHD on UK roads nowadays
  2. 100% positive it will not lose this amount of power, Performance bikes magazine once tested a GSXR 1000 on standard fuel 95ron, BP Ultimate 97ron and Shell V Power 99ron, they emptied the tank completely between between testing on the dyno on the same day so conditions were no different the bike overall gained 1.7bhp using Shell V Power from standard fuel. Might be different on bikes but i've seen 350's/370's mapped for 95 and they typically make less than stock, as said 10-15hp or so
  3. Sound or not there arent a lot of cars I'd take over a Tesla, they are astonishing bits of kit Very few cars really sound nice out of the factory nowadays imo
  4. On the side of the gearbox, you will need some kind of pump to get it in there , you need to run the gearbox up to temperature and only use the correct fluid which isnt cheap nor widely available
  5. I used to get mine from a drag car company as above, was never charged £5 per lb that's for sure. Me too either from Speed Shack at the drag strip or Andy Robinson race cars until i bought the stuff myself , sold around half of the bottle to a few customers which made it more or less free for me
  6. Been £5 per pound for more than 10 years , its cheaper if you rent a big bottle and decant at home but used to cost me £3.60 per pound when I did that back in 2005
  7. You will probably be fine adding this stuff to regular unleaded http://lucasoil.com/products/fuel-treatments/lucas-octane-booster I have used this in mapped turbo cars where I couldnt get vpower and there was no increase in det,
  8. Nitrous refills cost £5-£6.50 per pound so up to £130 to refill two bottles
  9. In 2007 we had these on the drive (Two diesels-will never buy another!) 2017 2027 I expect they will all be electric
  10. I had a supercharged 370z as well if you recall, was bored with it within weeks and even they still make disappointing torque (On a dyno dynamics dyno) imo, my stock 2.0l daily driver makes more torque that my N/A 370z could produce even after all the mods I did A Civic will feel quicker than the 370z because of the shorter gearing but the 370z can build speed at an impressive rate
  11. My son is in 6th form and has consistently peer marked his work throughout his school life so it still is very much in effect . Also as parents we no longer get written school reports , all we get is a list of numbers giving current and expected grades , no written feedback I appreciate more has to be done with lesson plans but for many teachers there is a level of repetition so its not like they have to start from scratch for each lesson Also our local secondary finishes early every other Monday to give the staff more preparation time , in fact teachers get more time during the school day to prep then they ever have I know they are held to account more than ever and thats how it should be and no different to the private sector. Teachers for the main are pretty well paid with lots of opportunity for advancement , of course it wont suit everyone and not everyone can deliver to the required standard
  12. What do you mean it doesn't make claimed power? This isn't something i've heard before, although I don't frequent the '70 section too often, but the '50 was claimed for being one of the few cars that actually meet or exceed the claimed bhp. Depends on the dyno you use , my GT Edition made 309hp with a catback , intake pipes , K&N filters and a remap on the Dyno Dynamics at H-Dev ! I never dynoed it totally stock Thats a lowly 250hp at the wheels
  13. 370z will run a 12 second 1/4 mile stock , that's pretty respectable, as is 0-60 in 5 seconds, the 370z does the straight line stuff much better than the gt86 but the latter does track much better than the zed
  14. 100% quicker than a 370z? Even with a supercharger I very much doubt that but i bet its a lot of fun
  15. Looks smart Rich, is that stock ride height? Just spacer'd? 25mm? Just spacers 25mm all round , I'd didnt want to lower it as it would have caused me issues , even at stock height the front splitter ground out in multistory car parks
  16. Spacers help make the car look more aggressive imo
  17. The stock wheels are forged Rays items and are a quality wheel usually selling for about £1k with good tyres, replacing with another quality wheel rather than a cheap cast one wont be cheap
  18. Didnt make a difference with or without cats on mine either its probably just the way they smell
  19. Both of my 370z's used to smell of hot/burning rubber when I parked them up in the garage after a drive
  20. Clutches and gearbox are a bit noisy on these cars , i wouldnt worry if it doesnt do it on the flat
  21. I think the 7at is about £7k from Nissan, used ones seem to go for £500-£1000 from breakers they are a pretty sturdy gearbox , they do have a limit when tuned but anything shy of FI is ok IME they are much more reliable than the manual gearboxes , I've only heard of one failure
  22. £1500 for a new engine? More like £4-£5k plus another £1k to fit it and £1k to put a new clutch in it as you would be mad not to I wouldnt worry about the engines on these they are pretty solid, its not a complex car at the end of the day and there are no real horror stories having a slush fund is advisable on any used car and even warranties dont mean you are fully covered
  23. Yes they stay open as per that video i posted. Do you have a problem with the tickover then ?
  24. More torque made more rapidly with nitrous though and more power lower down would be way over the gearbox torque limit as its only 295ft lbs, run more than that and its on borrowed time http://www.the370z.com/forced-induction/66263-forced-induction-7at-370z-info.html
  25. thats because its Clarksons actual house , now his missus and kids have moved out he was demolishing it so he can build a new one there http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/09/jeremy-clarkson-blows-up-his-old-home-to-make-way-for-new-cotswo/
