  1. Its not really , my 370z was £36500 new , less than 2 years later i paid £23k thats fairly typical Some real horror stories re depreciation here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3932046/Which-cars-biggest-money-guzzlers-MG-model-worth-QUARTER-price-just-three-years-road.html
  2. Nissan oem for gearbox and diff imo
  3. MY2012 which includes some 2011 models will have the revised oil gallery gaskets and they also have improved oil cooling, not sure exactly what Nissan did but the 2012 on cars don't have anything like the oil temp issues of the earlier models Also mid 2012 the brake hose design changed on the front so the early hoses wont fit
  4. http://www.obdlink.com/ I used one of these with torque app and the nissan codes on the play store , worked fine for me and gives a lot of live data as well
  5. A mix really not much motorways , cant really put down 500hp at the moment but i dont hang around
  6. Done over 1500miles in just over a month in the car, really liking it. Its even really good on fuel ,I'm averaging over 27mpg which is outstanding really
  7. Yep , sockets are key you can never have enough , i have 4 tubes in my double garage and use a work lamp when i'm doing stuff on the car , the tubes are really good when detailing as the show the swirls etc Heating , a fan heater will do it , i have two double rads in my garage but they are set for frost protection only , a small fan heater provides enough heat for me if im working in there with the door shut
  8. 09-12 370z's run quite high temps when driven hard and/or on track , if the temps go above about 130 degrees the car will go into a restricted performance mode until the temps drop. The gasket issue doesn't have any relation to the temps As mentioned due to the way the timing operates on the 370s the timing is affected by the oil pressure , that's why the symptoms are often poor running at idle Imo the issue is when not if , so I'd budget to get it done anyway rather than worry about it , once the new gaskets are fitted you dont have to worry http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/108292-oil-gallery-gasket-repair-350z-hr-and-370z/
  9. Probably have the 350z HR to thank for that , for Nissan its better to sell engines at £13500 a time than just replace the gaskets To be fair temperature is far more of an issue than pressure on the 370z
  10. I saw the review of this one on Technoman and it looks pretty good , it has GPS , great quality but most of all is very discreet https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IM2EPQW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=39YC2ELG3W356&coliid=IK0ZLSD2QWQYO&psc=1 They are cheaper on ebay and come with a wiring kit
  11. Interesting, how easy is it to lift up the gear surround? Also I have a Tanabe Medallion exhaust so would hope it would sound good if ever fitted! Very easy just get your fingers under it
  12. pop the gearlever surround up and have a look if there is wiring there . On the autos you can retro fit the paddles as everything else is there so i wouldnt be surprised
  13. I bought a spacesaver wheel, tyre, jack and brace of a forum member for £120. We travel abroad a lot so prefer that to the gunk. I understood space savers were'nt available for the 370 and that the only option was to use a 350 space saver using a 20 mm wheel spacer on the rear to clear the discs. Is that correct?? No you can buy a 370 space saver from Nissan but many people use the 350z ones , most dont bother
  14. They have the potential to cause damage but its more likely to cause running issues first so you'll know something is wrong If you have a pre 2012 model which have these issues they also can suffer from higher oil temperatures so the easiest way would be to fit a oil pressure sensor into the sandwich plate for an oil cooler and kill two birds with one stone Alternatively you can fit a T piece onto the factory oil temp sensor and connect a gauge to that but i wouldn't recommend that as the alloy of the engine is easily damaged and simply removing the stock sensor can strip the threads As for the gauge you will probably be stuck with a universal pillar mount , I was considering fitting a gauge under the bonnet as all you really need is a check on idle every now and then
  15. I wouldnt use a blue print oil filter , a genuine one is £10 , in fact I'd use genuine air filters as well , not that they or the pollen filter should be required at this mileage .
  16. Did you do one at a time or all at once , its pretty easy to get the coil wiring swapped around
  17. If you are using it for drifting you wont really be able to look at the pressure gauge and or temp guage , why not just fit a large red light and/or buzzer that triggers at 1 bar , that way as soon as the pressure drops you can get off it , same for oil temp really , one at say 150 degrees
  18. It will be a GT not a GT Edition . the noise could be a cat or heat shield rattling , H-Dev should be able to sort it for you they keep stocks of used Cats and once on the ramps I'm sure the other issues will become apparent
  19. Also likely a fair amount of oil could be stuck at the top end of the motor and not draining down fast enough Personally If I was drifting anything (Not that I ever would because its lame as) I would fit a greddy style oil pan https://www.z1motorsports.com/engine-parts/greddy/greddy-cast-aluminum-oil-pan-vq35de-p-9097.html
  20. S14 actually, 400hp is only a GT2871R and a fuel pump away ....... Some S13's got the SR20 albeit with a slightly different turbo Dude, Im the chairman of the owners club, Ive got a fair idea about this If you want to get to that level of pendantry, and S13 is actually a booted Silvia that only came with a CA18DET. The SR20DET was found in the PS13 (booted Silvia, JDM only) and the RPS13 (sold here as the S13 200SX). The only UKDM car the SR20DET was only fitted to the S14 (and the Sunny GTi-R, obviously) Its not pedantry at all, some s13's came with the sr20 thats all

  22. No chance of repair on a Rota i'm afraid
