  1. I enjoy driving most types if they have enough performance to keep me interested, a car doesnt become boring solely by virtue of what wheels are driven by the engine
  2. More info here http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/108292-oil-gallery-gasket-repair-350z-hr-and-370z/ Its not a hard job technically but a ramp is a must and the bottom crank nut is super tight , we had to order tools better suited to working on the railways ! A 1" drive- 1.2m breaker bar and it still takes two guys on it sometimes to break them loose
  3. They are built for Americans , if my arse was that big I wouldnt be able to get out of the front door !
  4. I get your point hence I bought a 4 yr old XFR for the same money as a 3 year old 370z , I considered the Mustang until i sat in one
  5. Yes , as per post #2 . Not a lot of base models around
  6. About time for pics! lol Camber on the rear looks a little screwy bit might be the pics
  7. With HFC you are probably looking at 335-345hp to be honest , ever had your Type r on a dragstrip ?
  8. Try resyncing the key fob http://www.350z-uk.c...battery-change/
  9. Throttle discs dont control airflow on the 370z thats not how the VVEL works
  10. There can be an issue with electrical "noise" that affects the afm signal on the supercharged 370's as there is an aftermarket extended loom , that what why i thought about fitting it along with shielding the cable
  11. i bought one but never got around to fitting it , it may or may not make any difference but cant hurt
  12. Its a case of finding a good one , I would have a S14 over a 370 if I could find the right one but good ones are very very thin on the ground
  13. Until he navigates his first roundabout in the rain. I could drift my old van around roundabouts , its was neither quick or sporty
  14. They are made from a poor material , also in some cases the bolts holding the plates down have worked loose and so the gasket has blown out I dont think a specific activity could be blamed
  15. Low boost and supercharger DO go together , the Stillen kit on the 370z only gives around 8psi at max rpm, up to about 5000rpm its barely making 5 psi
  16. This was my 370z auto The lower figure was cat back , intake hoses, k&n filters and remap , the later figure was decats and another remap Truth is the 370 does lack a bit of torque compared to FI stuff , I cant help thinking you will be very underwhelmed with a stock 370 after a charged Type R
  17. I think you will need to try one , I seriously considered a charged Type R after my charged 370z
  18. Yep it's a real dilemma Rich. I keep going around in circles with it. It a staggering £700 job but then if your unlucky it's probably a £3K job. Piece of mind says get the job done but then greedy mind says it may never happen..BUGGAR BUGGAR BUGGAR Yep its around £700-£900 but a lot more than that for an engine plus fitting probably £6-£8k You cant replace the oil temp gauge with a pressure gauge , they work as a trio you would need to replace all three, any oil pressure gauge would need to be a standalone and would look a bit pony imo But truth be told its a matter of time , the gaskets are crap and they will blow out sooner or later , if you saw the stock ones and the revised ones you can see why they fail As I said before if it was my car I would do it as a matter of course How do you mean Rich "you can't replace the temperature gauge", and "they work in trio". Can't you just remove the temp gauge, fit a pressure gauge in its place and connect the pressure gauge to a sender unit mounted at the oil filter. I had thought I would fit a "T" connection in place of the pressure switch, then connect the pressure switch to one connection and the sender unit to the remaining connections? They look like three separate guages but they are a single thing , so this http://www.ebay.com/itm/09-16-nissan-370z-coupe-convertible-oem-center-dashboard-cluster-meter-gauge-/222296049235?fits=Make%3ANissan%7CModel%3A370Z&hash=item33c1e08653:g:A9kAAOSwXeJYEqTY&vxp=mtr If you did want to fit a gauge then a sandwich plate will do the job http://www.rspec.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=87_89 In fact Dave at Rspec does all the stuff you need including gauge pods
  19. Reading about Tesla of late i'm not sure I would be buying one, they are not in a great position financially and the markets seems to be consistently betting against them, whether there is a long term business model there or not I'm not sure, this whole dropping of the lifetime supercharger access doesn't bode well on an expansion of the network. I certainly would think twice about buying a brand new model , i much prefer to leave it a while to allow the bugs to be ironed out and sadly Jag isnt what it once was either Good to see other manufacturers taking the leap though
  20. H-Dev and Torqen do them in their shop iirc

  22. As I said before , I am not aware of a single VQ37 engine failure due to this issue, although its been blamed on some US failures usually when turbo or supercharged or used on track so its hard to be certain. I did see a VQ35HR with a snapped camshaft on the lh bank which may well have been caused by the oil gallery gaskets (the oil pressure was low) and/or hard treatment but thats the only wrecked engine I have seen failed gaskets on the 370z with no symptoms whatsoever where they have been done as a precaution for peace of mind of the owner Fitting an oil pressure gauge was covered on the previous thread
