  1. Grey convertible in Radstock, if you are on here apologies for not waving back
  2. Thanks Keyser, Yeah holding it on the clutch meant hill starts etc just to pull away, as I only drive ~ 1.5 miles to work (yes I'm that lazy) I may hold off on contacting the garage and go for a long spirited drive this weekend - without breaking any speed limits - to give it a good run, then if I notice it next week I will pop back down to the garage and have them look into it. Will have a go on the way back home to se if the clutch is slipping whilst in a high gear, haven't noticed the revs going crazy but definitely work a check. Thanks, Pete
  3. Hi all, here is a new one for me but who knows someone else may have may well know what is happening. Basically the slave cylinder packed up on my car (HR model) which as Nissan moved it from the easy fix DE model to lets take everything apart I decided to get the clutch replaced since they had it in bits. I have now had the car back and after a couple of days I noticed a strange smell (can only describe it as a rotting cabbage type smell) it only seems to happen when the car has warmed up a bit and I am holding it on the clutch/changing gears fast, I will be taking the car back to the garage this weekend to investigate but it would be nice if I was armed with some more information as it may well be a very labour intensive job and I don't want to have to pay out again on it. Could it be something like oil/grease leaking in from somewhere or the clutch slipping a bit where the cable is a little loose? I am not mechanically minded so don't want to be fobbed off with something. Any help is appreciated, Pete
  4. @cs2000 like the easy option, can you link me to ordering and payment and I'm in
  5. Like the work done here and definitely following this, my only problem is I'm not one to pull things apart to make changes as they never seem to go back the same way.
  6. An update on my issue, popped down to a local garage who have worked on it before they checked it over and found no issues with the engine at all in fact they said it was in a very good condition. I had the battery replaced as it was on its way out since then it is now running at around 15psi on warm idle so definitely an improvement, if it drops again I think I might just bite the bullet and get the gaskets changed as a precaution.
  7. Thanks for the info, not too far away but may be an issue getting there and back unless they have a loan car, also getting time off of work to do it is going to be an issue. Going to pop down to my local garage who have done some work for me already and ask them for a quote (no issues buying the kit myself for £200 from Horsham and just paying for labour) lets see what they say and go from there.
  8. Exactly what mine is like now, does anyone have a rough cost? Funding is a bit low due to having a new y-pipe and 3 sensors replaced so need to budget for the work. Based just outside of Bath so not easy for me to get to the best workshops for the fix so may have to be my local one.
  9. I am around the 500 miles a year mark, it was a high mileage car at 120k on the clock when purchased but every year the average is considerably reduced so unless I get a seriously large repair bill or someone offers me a crazy amount of money for it I have no intent to sell. My main payments recently have been for sensors which don't seem to be cheap (between £120 and £200 each).
  10. Live just outside of Bath and there are now 3 in my local town, one black, one gunmetal and my silver one nearly enough for our own show.
  11. Similar incident for me, washed my car the previous day (due to lots of trees where I live so gets a nice green tint to it after a week). Drove into work the next day and parked next to my bosses car and a crappy fiesta, little did I know that my company were getting the pest controllers in to get rid of some seagull eggs, low and behold I finish work and my car must have had a ton of seagull crap on it and nothing on my bosses car or the one next to me.
  12. Standard Benadryl (the blue ones) are the only ones that work for me, I take them as I need them and try not to be out at dusk when it gets really bad, the one a day tablets regardless of the type seem to make me drowsy. Also living in an area surrounded by fields doesn't help but slightly unavoidable due to work.
  13. Just got an elm327 (wifi) works fine on iPhone with obd2 app, literally 30 seconds to set up
  14. Yeah miles were high at 120k but was happy with the FSH, plus with me doing less than 1.5k a year and it will be serviced once a year the high mileage doesn't worry me too much
  15. Hi and welcome to the forum, As a new owner (last few months) firstly I would like to say have read around on here as there is loads of advice on issues seen with all models and what to look out for and a lot of help from the members if you need it. Also be patient, it took me 6 months of looking around and a few frustrating times when the car I wanted was sold within a few days of it being advertised, but at the end of the day I ended up with a GT spec HR in good condition with full service history for under 6K. Still learning about the car which is part of the fun
