  1. The only track days I've done were on 2 wheels, and the nurburgring in a hire car Really need to get back into doing them... Once this wedding thing is done with and I have spare cash!
  2. Thought as much! Ok thanks for your help. I'm not in a position to buy new comp arms yet - but I've heard nothing but good things about you
  3. And why is this so cheap when it's around £250 elsewhere per arm? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-350-Z-350-Z-FRONT-LOWER-REAR-CONTROL-WISHBONE-ARM-LEFT-HAND-SIDE-N-S-/331048085029?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4d1400e625
  4. I know this has probably been answered before and I've read a few thread on the subject. After a recent service advice was given that the compression arms were rattling and needed replacing. From what I've read it seems the ball joint is integral to the banana arm and so a whole new banana arm is needed? Is that correct? If I'm going to change that I might as well do the polybush upgrade too, but before I go any further I'd appreciate your take on that feedback. Cheers
  5. Wow that must have been scary, even more considering it wasn't your car. I've had a few close calls, and "hmm why is this happening I haven't done anything to warrant the car getting all out of shape?" Fortunately I got away with it, though I've been knocked off my motorbike and had one big off on my bike in the past. Good of you to share your experience, it's a sobering thought to all of us, even those of us with dozens of years of experience driving cars, it can happen to anyone. These things happen, and irrespective of blame or fault, sometimes accidents do happen, even if they were avoidable, and it sounds as though you weren't being over the top in your driving, it sounds as though it's one of those poor conditions, powerful car and not catching it quickly enough, of course not driving within the conditions... Lastly I don't think anyone should be in be in a position to judge as we've all faltered before, despite not everyone willing to share the experience as eruditely as you have. At least you're okay and your friend is still talking too you! What did the police say?

    Plenum query

They're not expensive, and are a good basic "performance" mod to be added, but other than helping get more oxygen into the engine, you won't really feel much of a difference, it's subtle. With a remap and exhaust will help to get the most out of it.
  7. Congrats. Always good to hear people succeeding.
  8. I was at Abbey this morning and it took me nearly 4hrs to get to my office in Canary Wharf.... The office is a ghost town, so many people stuck and some people still are only just getting in now! What a joke... If they were expecting such harsh conditions you'd have thought they would be running maintenance trains up and down during the night to clear debris. Can't believe a little bit of wind, snow, rain, leaves, sun can cause so much chaos to this country.
  9. Since this is my first service and it needs a P3 I wanted the whole works and make sure the car receives a good keen eyed once over from the experts. It took a lot of willpower to not add in a new exhaust, plenum and remap on the order as well... However I must be sensible at the moment. Getting back to London was a challenge from the middle of the countryside with all the train disruptions after this mild bit of wind.... First impressions were great and Scott seems a nice chap (thank you for the lift to the station!) So I'll let you know how this goes for me (I'm sure it'll be as good as everyone else has experienced here).
  10. Driving eastbound on Woolwich road towards Greenwich. I was pulling onto the same road. If you're a member here, "hi"!
  11. Feel free to borrow mine mate - a bit of a trek for you to SE London though.

    Chav's

Well if owning a 350z is a sign of a chav. I'm a chav and proud.
  13. One of the few charities I actively show solidarity towards and happy to pay towards.
  14. What a pathetic excuse of a man that guy is! I'd love it there, I wouldn't stop chuckling! I'd probably fall asleep! My instinct would probably be to lamp them though :o
  15. I don't understand why people would do something like this. Pranks like this aren't funny, and had the chap got up and clipped this guy round the ear I'm sure he'd have started crying 'racist' attacks or get his 'gang' to come back and give the performer a beating. Why do people have such little respect for others?
  16. Even with the traction control, physics is physics, if you're going too fast or changes direction too hard, you'll break traction and whilst the TCS will help you, if you don't know what or how the car will react you could still cause yourself some issues and to those around you. I've owned a few RWD cars but this is the first with traction control, and whilst it's good, you can still get caught out if you're not careful - fortunately I have access to quiet private road area where you can be a little silly (within reason). Personally I don't think that a little bit of naughtiness on public roads is bad if it's quiet and there is no one around, but doing so with the knowledge that any damage you cause you will be responsible for.
  17. I just open the window - unless it's raining, and then I put the climate control on. The only other time I do it if it's hot () and I'm on the motorway or in town. I probably should use A/C more, but I tend to prefer non conditioned air anyway.
  18. All the best mate! LEt us know how it goes.
  19. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/76054-managed-to-get-that-fogging-off-my-headlights-with-a-little-elbow-grease/page__hl__elbow Did it by hand - used Megs Metal polish and a microfibre and sealed with with C4 Gtecnniq. Looks great now.
  20. Saw a rather lovely silver 350 with an orange or red cage in it. Looked a little like a track weapon, but didn't get a chance to see much of it. It was dusk so couldn't really see much of it. It was at the pinch points along Kidbrooke Park Road near the David Lloyd gym. http://goo.gl/maps/eoomt
  21. You're welcome - I look forward to seeing their handy work!
