  1. It's not a revUp and it's a DE. It's a 55 plate. I've done the velocity stack mod, hks panel filter, and plenum. No ecu remap yet. Exhaust and HFCs first before I do remap.
  2. Thanks evil all sorted. The power station dyno isn't good at working out transmission losses but are reknown to be pretty accurate. Not sure why my torque is low though?
  3. And with just an HKS filter and Wasso plenum and it hit 282bhp. So happy with that result. will post pics later as I'm on my phone. How do you reset vdc abs lights? Or is it a diagnostic port jobbie?

    So... MPG

With mixed driving London and country roads including 70mph cruise on motorways (don't see the point in doing much more on the motorway) I seem to be averaging around 26mpg.
  5. He's only a 35min drive from me and worth the visit. I'll go to Abbey for tuning/remap work as they're the 2nd closest, and they do have a good reputation and are good at what they do. However for everything else, Monsieur Kaizer is the Kaiser!
  6. Those three words sum up Sly and his work. And boy does he know his stuff! Furthermore he is so honest and down to earth. Rather than adding lots of additional bits and pieces like some mechanics would, he offers a very factual explanation of what pros and cons are of whatever solution there is and leaves it to you to choose. I know enough about cars/maintenance to know that Sly is one of the GOOD guys. His awards and recognition speak for themselves. He fixed a new compression arm, and replaced a worn bush, gaskets and fitted Wasso's plenum as well as a geo check in very little time and with a huge amount of care and attention. He gave me his wifi password and was able to crack on with some work, drink his coffee, and wander around the car when he was working on it. Sly, I look forward to seeing you again in the future.
  7. The mini! Actually I'd rather like the cayman, less full on than the rest and a proper gear box.
  8. A lot of these v6/v8 diesels and even the modern 4pot turbo diesels are pretty torquey and pull well from 40 onwards, but a zed on full chat, whilst not a hugely fast car, will still not be "left for dead" unless the Zed driver is not bothered and isn't actively racing. I think a lot of people end up racing themselves rather than anyone else.
  9. That looks awesome, but the only thing that puts me off such bumpers is the lack of headlight washer jets.
  10. I did the velocity stack mod and added an HKS filter as supplied by Alex. RDX stubby aerial. Added Redline Styling carbon intake pipe. Ripped out Bluetooth adapter from centre console. To do: Carbon slam panel Wasso's plenum spacer Fit mobile phone holder Mount power adapters for phones and devices neatly.
  11. They look brilliant. That's another thing on the list....
  12. Generally I wouldn't worry about it, it's shouldn't cause you any issues.
  13. I don't understand why when you're offered to have things bought from you you ignore it and just put it on eBay instead? Not very nice.
  14. As much as it's your pride and joy, and it is a cool purchase, I've always had a soft spot for those older German wagons... There is no chance that that person was racing you in the 350... The pure maths/physics of it doesn't add up. Still, enjoy it, and glad you like it...
  15. Shame about your experience, but it sounds as though you've got yourself over that hurdle, now just enjoy the car and welcome to the land of Zed!

    Plenum

Go and see flyboy for his velocity stack in the member trader area. Worth it, and agreed with Billy. Pop chargers make nice noise but won't necessarily bring you any more. The plenum is definitely worth it as first step in the performance improvement route. Wasso has a range of high quality anodised plenums available in many colours.

    Plenum

It lets more air get in to the engine (as mentioned a couple of the cylinders are a little restricted), but the plenum alone without a remap you won't get the full benefits. However, it's worth doing as a 1st step to getting a bit more out of the DE engine. You may get a bit more of an induction noise, certainly if you change the air intake. Changing the air intake doesn't do much in terms of power (you may lose some) but you benefit from hearing the V6 a lot more clearly. That with a plenum and a new exhaust system and a remap and you'll have a pretty decent (modest) gains, with a more driveability and torque and perhaps 8-10% hike in power.
  18. Well the zed drives beautifully and was well looked after and definitely a good bunch of people. However a lot of extras were discovered and suggested but were far too expensive to fix at the moment but At least I know what to look forin future. I'm glad to have met the team I can understand why people like to come here.
  19. Been to Abbey, nice guys, but also not that local to me, but you pay for what you get. Kaizer is my closest and seeing them next week, I'm fact they Sly comes highly recommended if you're in the SE or in London.
