  1. Happy new year all. Hope 2014 brings you nothing but prosperity, health and happiness.
  2. Congrats! I'm getting married in May - it's a great feeling and I wish you all the best with your plans.
  3. The way I see it, is if you have to make an effort not to drink you've got underlying issues! Joking aside, I seldom drink, however some friends want sponsorship for dryathalon. I mean, really? I replied saying I'd sponsor them for a 1/2 marathon, or something worthwhile, there's no effort needed not to drink alcohol.
  4. Living in London I don't drive that much, so it tends to be for weekends away or for places where commuting is hard to get to. Furthermore I get free transport in London so it seems daft not to use it! Average of 29.2 though is good over a year - I reckon I'll end up doing around the same sort of mileage per annum.
  5. I did something similar but I did it by hand! http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/76054-managed-to-get-that-fogging-off-my-headlights-with-a-little-elbow-grease/page__hl__%2Belbow+%2Bgrease
  6. Has anyone ever needed to submit them as evidence before and would they help in a court of law i.e. in terms of insurance?
  7. I don't think the Zed needs to be lowered - I certainly wouldn't want it any stiffer either. However, improving the current setup to suit your needs is always good - however I agreed braided brake lines and new pads are never going to do you any harm.
  8. Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it. Yeah I don't want it to be obnoxiously loud - but at the same time if I'm going to upgrade exhaust, I might as well go full hog, no point in a cat as you get so much more without.
  9. I live near Greenwich! You see a few GTRs from time to time. They do have a presence..
  10. I find the ESP a bit over zealous. I want a little bit of a slide, a bit control. However in this weather it makes driving a little less stressful, but I'm of the mind that you shouldn't rely on driver aids or drive to the extent that the aids are taking over all the time. I usually have TC off but it can be a handful owing to it's wide tyres and torquey engine, and tend to turn it back on when I'm not in the mood but generally therefore drive more carefully anyway.
  11. In case you're interested the mods I'm planning on doing are as follows: Plenum - done (get one from Wasso - theyr'e great quality). Velocity mod - done (get it from flyboy) HKS panel filter - done (get it from any of the traders here). Exhaust - to do Remove cats - to do Lightweight flywheel - to do Remap - to do. If you're lucky you might scrape together anything from 10-20bhp, and similar amount of torque. However, it improves throttle response and makes the car a bit more urgent and more useable.
  12. Better throttle response, limiter removed from 1-3 gears, and a bit more power and more torque, from what I understand.
  13. I'm tempted by a Milltek + test pipes.
  14. Another question. What are the best test pipes (i.e. removing the cat). I reckon I'll go that route - there seems to be a lot of different types ranging in price by £80.
  15. I've been doing it since I learned to drive. It puts less stress on drive train, and also prevents any potential lockus or destabilising the car meaning you keep more control over the car, especially when braking and getting ready for a corner.
  16. It's just annoying as the paint is in fantastic condition for the age of the car and now it has a bit of a blemish which I obviously can't help but notice. It honestly isn't THAT bad as I don't think it's gone down to the metal, but I haven't looked at it too closely. No bodywork dent at least. But it just infuriates me that people don't pay more attention and aren't more careful about other people's property. I am built for surviving a zombie apocalypse but I wouldn't take it out on someone, but would expect them to give me either their insurance details or offer to pay for the damage. It's called common courtesy. Thank you for letting me vent my frustration.
  17. Dr Gregory House The hulk Seth rogen So I reckon I'd be okay, but if not I'd go out laughing.
  18. When my gauge says empty and the light comes on I still can hardly put more than 55-60 litres in. I don't risking though, having run out of fuel on a motorbike a while back I'm the Middle of nowhere I vowed never to do it again!
  19. Some runt decided they couldn't work out the length of their car when reversing out of a relatively empty car park, and thought they'd help my paint job with a little bit of a rub. There's no damage per se, just some scuffing on the rear arch and bumper (I'll post pics later), but it's not that, it's the principle. Why don't people take more bloody care? And if they didn't realise they had done it they shouldn't be in a bloody car in the first place. There's no point in stressing out over it, what's done is done... But it still upsets me. In the new year I'll give my car to an expert detailer (recommendations welcome) to do all the swirl removal but also see if they can buff it out, I probably could do it, but paintwork and body work stuff isn't my thing really. No point to the thread, just a bit of a rant.
  20. I used to be a skydiving instructor, and seeing this sort of thing does make you realise how easily it can all go wrong. Good to see everyone survived - probably the best place to be for a plane crash, outside of the plane!
  21. Far too young. May he be fast and furious forever more. I really enjoyed the films and thought he was a good all round chap from what I've heard and read about him.
  22. I got myself some bargain for Christmas last year on amazon. Like le cruset pots, hard drives and some tshirts. For a combined saving of nearly £135. Works for me.
  23. It's a fair point... I don't know the answer to it. The joy of being a tourist is turning up and using the bike... I guess maybe some rules attached with them? However I don't believe any of the deaths this year have been owing to tourists?
