  1. +1 on the high intake noise - surely some of the intake pipework is not sealed properly?
  2. Welcome along - same colour as mine!
  3. Very clever, but I was expecting something like this, only with a zed soundtrack! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37xiW4j0TtI
  4. Captain Schettino certainly qualifies as a window-licker (I like that) - when are they going to find him guilty of all charges?
  5. Finished on the 19th and it was actually the last day in the job. Planning to do some supply teaching (secondary maths) in January. Not done supply before - any supply teachers out there got any advice for me? (apart from don't do it!)
  6. A British Rail Morris Marina van (1.3 I think), just disgusting
  7. nice car, welcome
  8. Only problem with my seats is this stain (?) on the drivers side bolster - I was going re-colour them.
  9. at that mileage, could it be a stretched timing chain? you can check this by measuring the extension of the tensioner
  10. Are you interested in swapping black for orange?
  11. Thanks for the read - its a right beast!
  12. Probably best to pm zmanalex or clark motorsport
  13. Not bad Paul - but if you wanted a bigger version you could try the "grid method" - draw a square grid over the original picture then slmply enlarge the grid to suit your wall and copy the drawing onto it - try youtube. A frontal view would look good
  14. Totally bizarre - and how come that guy is not blind, welding without a mask?
  15. Just came across this - looks like an elephants sat on it http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e373/xcusememisswyn/camber.jpg
  16. I had this problem and the shop supplied the wrong shade - they then matched the shade the car and the new one is ok - it has a code on it - P422-7FPBB.
  17. Time for plug for "climb dance" with ari vatanen, unsurfaced road and no barriers!
  18. sounds like air is being forced out somewhere rather than sucked in - could it be the pcv pipework leading to the intake? - think you need to get your lughole a bit closer and try and pinpoint the source
  19. I test drove one with a powerflow system before I bought mine - it sounded fab and maybe quicker because of it, but I dont know if I could've put up with it day to day. Also..... the previous owner said he had been through 3 propshafts since he'd got it and he said the silencer was fouling it when it went over speed bumps!?
  20. Ha, it wasnt me but I spent my formative years (3 to 18) in Houghton, my folks are still there, so funny to see "the cut" on here.
  21. would one of those forked ball joint separators go between the chassis and the top of the arm and let you force them apart?
  22. Welcome - good plate!
  23. Love the car, didnt realise you drifted two at a time!!
  24. Have you driven it? People have z's on here that have done similar or higher mileages so dont be put off by that if it has a good history. Does the history show when the clutch has been done as that could be imminent. You could do the re-laquer yourself with a can. You need to be looking for oil smoke when driving, overheating issues, rust (rear and front arches) etc. Alloys being curbed are immaterial - you will probably do it yourself anyway at some time. Btw, I understand why you want to spend "so little" on a Z!!
  25. If I'm mot wrong (and it has been known) pinking is the sound you can hear when the fuel air mixture in the cylinders detonates (like a diesel), instead of burning rapidly and it can wreck your engine eg put a hole in the top of the piston! Its usually most noticable when the engine is under load eg when going up a hill in a highish gear, putting your foot down will make it pink badly if there is a problem. Common cause on older cars was ignition timing being out, with the Z I guess you could still get that but it may mean something was awry with sensor or the ecu (off the top of my head!!!) Pinkling now, is that still legal?
