  1. Thanks I'll try that - maybe when the weather warms up!
  2. I'm inclined to just change the motor - the fact that its getting hot all the time suggests a fault?!
  3. Yep its a new valve and body and usually the heating will work regardless of whether the hot water is on. Actually I've just realised that when the heating fails, the hot water refuses to come on either.
  4. Yes it a new valve and motor - a (sorry about the capitals!) HONEYWELL V4073A1039/U 3 PORT MID-POSITION DIVERTER VALVE 22mm
  5. I recently replaced the motorised valve and the time controller for the system and although it works fine most of the time all too often the heating refuses to come on, with the room stat and the controller both calling for heat. Moving the lever on the motorised valve usually does the trick, but not always. Something I've noticed is that the valve motor housing is always quite hot, even when the boiler is not working. Is it the valve, controller or something else? Thanks for looking
  6. It takes an 8mm socket if thats any help
  7. The 930 turbo engine teardown is really good as well
  8. Looks great, i like the white look, cant believe the progress youve made!
  9. It'd be interesting to see some figures on the improvement in chassis stiffness
  10. You dont have to use a press to get them out/in - just use a lump hammer and a drift on the outer shell of the bearing. I takes a bit longer but will save you cash.
  11. I've done both of mine on the drive, on my own, just needed another pair of hands briefly to position the new wing whilst I popped the bolts in. You dont need to remove any bolts on the door hinges, or remove the bumper. Its just a bit fiddly with lots of clips and bolts to undo. Go for it!
  12. Great stuff - a man should have a hobby! Was the layshaft causing noise or what?
  13. If pedal travel is ok and theres no sponginess i would try new pads first - i think mine are blue point and theyre fine - they feel like theyd stand the car on its nose tbh
  14. Both very sad to hear this. Only met him him brieflly at this years LakeZ, which we thoroughly enjoyed, thanks to Martin.

  16. I'm sure someone will be along to correct me but the oem flywheel is dual mass so the clutch plate wont be the sprung type. If youve got a single mass flywheel then you want a non-oem sprung type clutch plate. It'd be interesting to hear from more knowledgeable folk
  17. If you get the oem clutch wont that have the clutch plate without the springs in it? I assume you would would want the sprung type
