  1. Without Yutaka Katayama the 240Z would never have happened, he had to push like crazy to the top brass who were convinced that there was no point in building a sports car as the Europeans did it best. Management eh, haven't got a bloody clue!! Hence the top brass calling it a Datsun as they didn't want to bring shame on the Nissan name and brand in Japan.
  2. Hey Tom, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. Judging by the state of the clay your paint was in a right mess, glad to see you've rectified it.
  3. I find it unbelievable that some insurance company's charge a minimum £40 premium for changing from summer tyres to cold weather tyres. Surely you're safer driving a car in cold weather with cold weather tyres that can stop in half the distance that summer tyres can. Insurance----a license to print money!!
  4. Seems like you've got pretty much all the bases covered and as much as I can tell from the photo's your craftsmanship looks right on the ball, count me in. PM me when you've set your prices and got postage costs sorted out.
  5. Hey Pinoy, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of your new 350Z, I know which I prefer. Happy motoring.
  6. FSM's at www.nicoclub.com and www.fairladyz32.com The Fairlady site has every FSM from 240Z through to 350Z and are downloadable PDF's
  7. Have you checked the levels in your master cylinder to see if you're losing fluid? Could may well be the DMF but I'd check fluid just in case. What mileage is on your ZED?
  8. I'm on my first, but it sure as hell isn't going to be my last.
  9. Just change your name to Damien Hurst and tell everyone its an art installation. Charge for people to view it and get your cash back.
  10. As CS2000, I'm going to give this stuff (DoDo Juice, born slippy) a try at the weekend, I've never used it thus far.
  11. Hey Nick, welcome to the forum. My Zed came from a dealer on a '04 plate, Azure Blue, all the toys, GT version with 73k on the clock 2 years ago and I paid £6995 with full NSH and a 3 month warranty (which I used to get an offside window motor). A lot depends on how much the dealer is prepared to move. He's had it for a long time because at £9450 it's GT4 money and well overpriced. Even £8750 is too much. At a stretch I'd pay £8K if it was perfect. Can you use worn tyres, paint chips (especially on the front bumper & bonnet) etc as bargaining tools? Low mileage is its biggest selling point. Have you looked on www.pistonheads.co.uk for comparisons, they usually have 75 or so for sale. Hope this helps.
  12. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of your new 350Z. Looks like you've got yourself a pretty low mileage model if its just kicked over to 10K miles.
  13. Are these plain discs or do they have cleaning grooves and part-drilled holes in them? I'm about two and a half hours away but it would be worth the journey if they're just what I want. My plain discs have about 2500 miles on them so are in VGC.
  14. You can't go wrong with ZmanAlex. There are a lot of cheap manufactured sensors on the market and unless you know just what you're buying you could be into a whole heap of trouble.
  15. Looks loads better with the RAY'S. What are you plans for your old ones?
  16. If I were to pay for postage would you be prepared to let them go to me as I'm miles away from where you are?
  17. The way I repaired mine was to use 2000grit wet 'n' dry, then onto 2500 wet 'n' dry followed by a polish with Megs metal polish and finally topped of with a UV protectant polyurethane clear varnish from my local chandler (the way of thinking is that boats spend all of heir time in the water and are more prone to UV damage). I applied two thin layers over the lenses over two years on they still look as good as new.
  18. Got mine due on 18th and I agree with Choptop, there is no better feeling in the world than it going straight through. Props dude.
  19. LMFAO, I thought for a minute when I first read the post that you were ceasing trading and brining the administrators in. Everyone deserves a holiday though, so we forgive you.
  20. That is totally mental, some people/country's eh.
  21. I totally agree with Envy in that you're probably slathering on the wax thinking that a good thick coat is going to give you more protection, problem is, is that it isn't. You're far better off putting thin coats on, which makes buffing easier and then applying another thin coat. You might think that this feels like twice the work but considering your problem in pretty much having to start again you're actually saving time. I use DoDo Juice Rainforest Rub on my Azure and it looks a treat.
  22. Sounds like a lot of you lazy buggers need to start using the waterless wash and forgetting about whether its hoofing it down or not.
  23. Wax needs to be applied at least four times a year as the longest it is going to last is 3-4 months, whereas a sealant lasts a lot longer than wax and can last up to 12 months. That is why a lot of pro detailers add a sealant, let it cure and then add a good quality wax to add to the shine. You do need to keep the undercover for this as some sealants can take up to 36 hours to cure.
  24. Wow, Chris Forsberg has been around for years now, I remember first seeing him in the Drift Alliance, Bad as Hell DVD all those years ago.
