  1. Hi Alex, can't send a PM to you atm but do you still have the OEM brace and end brackets in stock? Thanks!
  2. Hi guys, I had new bushes fitted to both banana arms in February last year, since then the car has done about 12K miles. Had a look under today because a knocking noise has cropped up again and have seen both bushes have failed and the arms are touching the metal above. This seems like a very short life span to me, they were genuine Nissan items and them seemed to be fitted fine at the time. Is there anything that would cause them to wear so quickly? I wonder if both ends of the arms are knackered and maybe that caused excessive wear, in that case I guess I'll have to replace the arms themselves. By the time I've had the bushes replaced, arms put back on and all aligned the total price is starting to hike up anyway
  3. Up bright and early to give the Zed a wash before heading over to a local garage for get the tyres swapped onto some Rays I picked up on Ebay recently. It turns out you can fit a full set of wheels and tyres in the Zed and get the boot shut with some imaginative thinking! I know most people here are running Rays or better anyway but it was a nice little upgrade for me coming from the standard heavy wheels, and the good deal I got on them makes it all the bit sweeter. With that done I headed off for a drive in the sun with no particular place to go, just enjoying the soundtrack along some country roads with the windows down The clutch and flywheel was recently changed (big thanks to Ewen @ Clark Motorsport and Ross @ Japex for supplying and fitting the parts respectively) and combined with the new wheels everything just feels so balanced and nice to drive. All in all nothing particularly special but it just reminded me why I enjoy owning this car
  4. Great service, my order for the Xtreme clutch and SMF kit was taken on a bank holiday and the goods arrived shortly after. Very happy, thanks Ewen!
  5. Looks like the fronts are 215/35/18
  6. Don't bother folding your mirrors in if you know it's going to be frosty the next morning... The motors won't fold them out again unless you de-ice them first. Or you can give them a gentle nudge, that works too
  7. Did it work out much cheaper/easier importing an engine from the states yourself rather than just using a UK importer of LS engines etc?
  8. Thanks guys. Checked fluid at the weekend and it was right up to the max line so all good. Went out for a quick drive and it seemed fine. But today as I pulled into my road it went again, I guessing perhaps air in the system?
  9. Hi guys, on my way home tonight I noticed when I press the clutch pedal there is about 1-2 inches of deadzone before the pedal weight starts, the the actual useful travel is now quite small and makes smooth gear changes quite hard. The clutch itself seems to bite at pretty much the top of the weighty travel, but doesn't slip. This only started happening today as far as I can tell. I also have a suspicion that the DMF is knackered as it knocks gently in neutral, and sometimes the 'box vibrates a fair amount when decelerating from high revs in-gear. Depressing the clutch and letting it out again quickly stops the vibration. I wonder if that is related, although it may be a completely separate issue. My main concern is the clutch though, has anyone had this happen to them or might know what's wrong? Edited to add: The pedal returns normally, doesn't feel particularly mushy.
  10. Glad to hear everyone is having good experiences with their light weight flys. My original DM one is making a pretty horrible noise so I'm going to have to replace it, and a light weight one sounds like it'll be a good replacement!
  11. I'm pretty tempted to do this myself, in fact was eyeing up some Micras the other day on autotrader (keep it Nissan n all that!). At the moment the Zed is my daily but I'd really like to have something cheaper to run for my commute, which is about to go up to 35 miles/day, and something that I don't care if it gets knocked about. Could also put the Zed on limited mileage insurance then which should bring it down a bit. One problem I do have is space, not sure where another car would go at home! I also quite enjoy coming back to the Zed after driving something else, over the summer I rented a Mustang GT in the states, and the Zed felt like driving a rollerskate after that! Much more fun
  12. Signed up for the September box, a whole month to wait but looking forward to seeing what it contains!
  13. Very pleased with DS2500s myself but have actually found them pretty dusty.
  14. Looks great, I recently installed mine that CS supplied a couple of months ago along with Ferodo DS2500 pads all round. When they're warmed up the initial bite and overall feel is very good!
