  1. Wow, you done a great job there. I've always found black to be the worst colour to clean/polish but if done well like yours, give the best results.
  2. Have you tried closing all of your vents? This used to happen on my 200sx, closed the vents, problem solved.
  3. I'm in agreement with Kyle in that it does sound like a drop link, especially if there's a squeaking and clunking. There are a couple of YouTube clips you can use to compare the sounds you are encountering.
  4. Hey James, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of your Zed. As Kyle said on UK cars there is a sticker telling you yo use 98ron, but as yours is an import i doubt if you will have that sticker, but as everyone has mentioned Shell V-Power is the best fuel to use and if you can't get to 98 ron then use the bare minimum of regular until you can get to 98ron.
  5. I know of a fantastic auto electrical workshop who have been trading for about 30 years. I have no connection to them other than they've done work for me in the past and I've bought a few bits and bobs from them. Only problem is they are in Rugby, about half a mile from the railway station. PM me if you want details.
  6. Wow, this sort of restores your faith in humanity. What a fanastic offer for people wih little or no mechancal knowledge.
  7. Wow, that wing needs to go on a diet. I agree with KyleR in that it would look so much better if you got rid of the smaller OEM spoiler.
  8. I've seen a photo of a 350Z with an R35 GTR front end and i must admit it looked pretty good (just the front bumper), I don't know how much cutting and trimming it took to get it fitted and i also don't know if photoshop had been out to play but it suited the car.
  9. I wouldn't go to Halfords, I went to get some Azure Blue made up for a touch up pot and asked the 'operative' how he was going to do it and he came out with his spiel about it being done by computer, i just had to give him the B17 paint code. What came out was blue, thats about as kind as i can be. They can also put this paint into aerosols. I eventually went to PPG.
  10. When you were doing 40/45 in 6th (what?) and put yur foot down, did the revs match the power being put throuh the rear wheels?
  11. Obviously ignorance is bliss in the majority of cases.
  12. Bloody hell, how big was your air freshener? ( fresher, LOL I must write FRESHENER 100 times).
  13. Shame, I'm about 140 odd miles away from you.
  14. Hey Cosbey, it might be worth checking out YouTube as there are loads of different exhausts recorded on there, only problem is, is that they're recorded with mobile phones so the sound quality is poor but you'll get the general idea. You can also get single exit exhausts like the AAM. There are also a few traders on here who sell good quality exhausts so it might be worth making contact with 'em.
  15. Chromatic, sounds like its going to be like Christmas now that spring is here and you have a great big box of 'goodies' to open and experiment with. I look forward to seeing what you have, what you used and how you got on with each product.
  16. post same as below but took so long to load i thought post had been lost so i repeated it. Has this site been on the lash tonight---god it so pitifully slow and still missing letters that i type, its getting beyond a joke now.
  17. I'd definately go for a DA like the DAS6 (which is virtually the same as Meguiars but for half the price) rather than a rotary. If you've never used a rotary you run the risk of causing more damage than you're trying to repair as they are not as forgiving. Don't forget to claybar your car after washing and before polishing as you will get far, far better results.
  18. Totally agree with LRF4N and Briggsy, there's absolutely no problem using different products as long as you use them in the right order and understand that your shine comes from your polish and not your wax. Same as a really well prepped and painted base coat is going to look better with a half decent clear coat as opposed to a poorly prepped and painted base coat that is hopefully going to be rejuvenated by a thick top coat. Not the best analogy but you get the idea.
  19. Hey AG, welcome to the forum. I hope you have many happy days of Zedding in front of you this summer.
  20. Hey Sinnistar, welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase. Got any future plans for your zed?
  21. Welcome garak to the forum and i wish you all the best in your hunt for an Azure Blue (best colour by far). Hope this weekend proved successful for you. Your girlfriend will want to flog the house once she has a drive and hears that exhaust note. So its back to renting then, or moving in with the in-laws.
  22. Hey welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of a forum car that will be staying within the forum.
  23. Hey Chips, welcome to the forum. Have you tried www.pistonheads.co.uk they usually have a few Zeds on the market although I'll be the first to admit the quality of cars range from your classic 'shed' driven and modded by half wits to some pretty tasty cars well maintained, with full service histories. I bought mine from this site, even had the delivery note and full NSH. Checking the cars for sale on this site is also worth checking out as they tend to be well looked after. Happy hunting.
  24. Hey Cosbey, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of what looks to be a tidy Zed. When i replaced my boot badge i found it was just stuck on with double sided tape although USA models have two holes drilled through the hatch to fit theirs. The fronts do have two holes drilled through the bonnets but if you're replacing both they will no doubt have double sided tape to fix them on. Hope this helps.
  25. Hey Dal, welcome to the forum. It sure is a change to see a potential owner doing a bit of research before putting their money down and then flooding the forum with threads that start "Why is it?" "Something seems a bit wrong" "Does any know the answer as to why"? I spent a while looking for mine and its been nothing but a pleasure and made the wait all the more worth it. Happy hunting.
