  1. Hi there, had a look around and i cant see what i was looking for, so thought i might suggest it here... I know a few members either take their cars on track or drift days, and wondered if there could be a subforum dedicated to track life... basically somewhere specific to list what trackdays people are up to, discuss camber settings, traders can offer track specific parts such as brakes, tyres and cooling, and also a good place to post track videos or drift videos, specific track car of drift car builts, that kind of thing. Just wondering if it might be nice to have all this stuff in one place, so anyone looking to track or drift their zed can have all the info and discussions in the one place? Just a thought!
  2. Good work that man! But why paint over it on the 5th? Cant see it annoying any of the locals! Alternatively, install a GATSO just as you approach the village - doesnt have to have any film in it! Or maybe team up with a neighbour and setup a car slalom... park three cars as such to create a chicane.
  3. Don't go for Japspeed kit! cheaply made and badly fitting. Scorpion Exhausts are cheap and have a lifetime warranty, but i think there a bit muted. Personally, bang for buck i'd go for a Cobra system, this sounds the nuts to my ears...
  4. If im honest, i like neither... always thought the bulging bonnet looked a bit weird! But, i do have a lot of respect for you if after all the naysayers, you keep it on. Its your car, as long as it makes you happy! Im planning on putting eyelids on mine, which will no doubt have mixed opinions!
  5. thats not too bad at all! Cheaper than I can find, will have to remember camskill when i next need some front boots.
  6. too much for me im afraid, though only just! and yes, not the best time to be selling a rwd sports car, just at the start of winter... You could to what i did and garage it for 3 months, then sell it in the spring when the weather improves...
  7. jeepers, that went a bit pete tong quickly! Looked like he either mashed the throttle or pulled the handbrake to spin like that! only other thing i can think of was he hit a patch of bad tarmac just as he put power down, but the car park looked smooth as silk!
  8. Fair point - maybe what they meant to say was each take was a continuous run, but then the footage from half a dozen runs or so with cameras in different places were edited together to make one video. And unlike C'etait un rendezous they didnt need to dub the soundtrack!
  9. hahaha nice! He shouldnt have bothered getting in with a drifter if he didnt want to go drifting! Big scandi flicks sound the way forward! couple of years back when i was drifting (attempting to) my mx5 i was either shift locking from 3rd to 2nd, or just a dab on the brakes with turn in worked a treat for me lol didnt have a decent diff though, so was sideways for a time, until the diff realised what was going on and decided to stop feeding power to the outside wheel this was a few years back now, but think im going to try and get back into it - keep us updated on events you get down to, there arent too many 350zs on the drift scene it seems!
  10. Glad to hear the stock 350z is a good handler! I wouldnt be welding the diff tho... its going to be a daily driver as well! You got any plans for clutch and handbrake? Depending on how you initiate a drift obviously, how strong are the stock drivetrain items?
  11. Another one to add! found an 06 plate with 69k on the clock from a private seller advertised for under £8k! Thats a 5 year old zed advertised for under 8 grand!
  12. I'm pretty sure this is a repost, as the video is nearly 10 years old now, but for the newer members who might not have seen it... its a 350z driving through Prague. Filmed in a single run on closed roads, multiple camera angles. Complete with a couple of near misses! Even sounds good with the standard exhaust
  13. mmmm looking forward to this thread with interest! thinking of taking my zed drifting when i get one so will be good to see one in action before i decide what parts are needed!
  14. hmmm, hopefully come March the price of civic coupes will be up, but zed prices will still be down... I'm in the market as well but wasnt going to buy until march, but there are loads of really good value cars around at the moment... seriously tempted by a Silver 54 plate GT with 47k on the clock for £7,700... hope they're still this good when it comes time to make a purchase!
  15. wow - didnt think cars actually were able to move with that much camber. Theres a trend for ridiculous camber on the japanese VIP scene, but the camber is normally a result of airbagging the car so the sills are an inch off the ground - it doesnt get driven like that! luckily tyres in the first vid posted look cheap to replace!
  16. welcome to the forum and a nice looking zed you have there!
  17. ...and the standard zed has limited signal voltage in the first 3 gears? hence the need for a throttle controller or an uprev to make the zed more responsive in the first three gears?
  18. hmmm - wouldnt have bothered watching it, but now you mention it... demand 5 for a recap i think!
  19. -43?!!? are you positive you've read that right? (pun intended) i can't imagine a car which would ever want an offset that low on a relatively low width - maybe some monster 11" rims would have an offset that low, and then some major arch work. that wheel would stick out 73mm more than a standard 8" wheel
  20. Surprised no one has said this yet but... Unless you're a short arse...
  21. could save it as a gif - those are tiny (although image quality isnt brilliant - save the high quality image for you signature pic
  22. the second one is particularly tacky.. but the ones on the 7 series i quite like. But then again, i think undercar neons look awesome... bring them back i say!
  23. the wheels are the same diameter - the tyres are not! - the 45 profile is a percentage of the width (45%), so 245/45 is around 2.5% bigger than 225/45. The rear wheels will need to spin slightly slower than the fronts, if the tyres spin at the same speed the computer will think the rear wheels are slipping, and apply traction control.
  24. or keep the second pair for when you wear the first pair out... either way if you can get 70% the price of tyres id do it!
  25. seems fair to me - if i was in the market for one i'd get in touch! It might be a bit much for the year, but UK with GT pack and very low miles for the year should be very desirable. Though its not a good time to sell powerful rwd sports cars as winter is just round the corner... you'll probably get a better price for it in the spring when more people (including me) are buying
