Nice Rims! How fresh are the tyres?

Alrighty, 6 months after first joining and theres a zed in my parking space outside! Massive thanks to Ash, really looking forward to many happy motoring miles! Its a 53 plate UK GT Spec car, Gun metal, 41k on the clocks. And its mine! Though typically, the day after the winter tyres are removed, and no less than 3 hours after cash and documents are exchanged, it started snowing So it might not be going anywhere for a while yet - probably shouldnt get used to a new car in the snow! Better pics to follow when its not snowing and its washed, but for now it does look good parked between two euroboxes... Looking forward to my first meet and first proper drive when the weather improves! Thanks for putting up with my 200+ posts when i didnt actually have a zed, they might be more constructive now i have a reference point! Cheers all Brillo

thetreadshop.com loads of tyres in 245/45/18 size... but hardly any in 225/45/18, so you're in luck!

I wouldnt mind doing it - he can either come with me to Scotland in May or Le Mans in June, im sure he'd like the fast noisy cars

I have no problem with letting people know to use the search function, im just thinking it makes the search less and less efficient as you have to sift through lots of posts before you get to the answers you want! Its a vicious circle - the more posts there are that ask the same questions, the harder the search is to use, so people give up on the search and thus make more posts that ask the same questions. Maybe once threads have reached a conclusion they could be deleted to keep the search clear?

I would say gloss black... the matt black in the pictures blends with the gunmetal too much for me. even better with a polished lip If you really want to stand out go for coloured, but you'd need other matching highlights on the car to make it work IMO.

I totally agree with Gball1973... I knew there was a 5 post approval minimum, but if thats the case, then if someones first post is 'what tyres are best for my zed?' with no other introduction at all, then i dont think that post should be approved, rather a polite message sent to the sender saying 'please use the search function' and 'please make sure your question hasnt been covered by numerous other topics before' viewtopic.php?f=60&t=58018 springs to mind as an example of this. Im not sure 99% of members do post an introduction message first, it seems to be about 50/50 whether the first post is a meaningful introduction or a question thats been asked a million times before. Maybe a clampdown on new post approval might be in order? we keep saying all these new posts for questions already answered makes it even harder to find the right answer by using the search, i just think that these kind of posts should not be approved in the first place?

Hi All, Just a thought, might it be an idea to have a 5 post minimum before being able to start a new thread in anything other than 'Introductions and Welcomes'? Might stop people joining and then straightaway asking 'What tyres are best for the zed?' or 'how do i get 400bhp from my zed?' or some other heavily answered question? You could even have a standard error message that comes up if a very new member tries to start a new thread, something along the lines of 'If you have a question that might have been asked before, please use the SEARCH button top right' It seems half of the new members on here start with a question, and the first reply is always 'please use the search button' which might not be the friendliest first reply.... if there was a way of preventing the post in the first place it would save a lot of repeated questions! Just my two cents

well i compared quotes with 3yrs NCB and it was £1100, and then with one accident in the last year and no NCB, it went up to £1450. That was a single car policy, except im with admiral multicar, so it'll be cheaper that that, and they also said one claim takes 2 years off your NCB, so i still have one years NCB, and im 25 in march, with a clean license and no points. I'm expecting a bit of a hike, but not too bad - i'll probably pay the premium monthly rather than all in one go. And i had £4k in savings to put towards the car... obviously W plate Honda civic does not equal 53 plate 350Z!

Good news! Insurance have accepted my valuation of £2000 and will be paying out that amount (less my £500 excess) Personally think its worth a little more (~£2200) but happy to have got them to increase their offer from the £1200 insult they originally offered So its zed ville for me! Have already agreed a sale price on ash's zed and will be exhanging moneys and keys next weekend!

Can you not get some clear vinyl to protect the front end? Got to be cheaper than a respray!

Euurgh Colossus... Just NO. it is horrid! Compared to how smooth other coasters run, such as Nemesis and Air, and then stealth... Its like a bigger version of the old 'Corkscrew' at Alton Towers, except that was deemed too old and pulled down!

yeah i know they're both run by the same people, but alton towers don't seem to have done anything new recently... Whereas Thorpe Park is building decent new rides every year it seems!
