  1. mmmmm shiny! Gonna love the noise - when i get a couple of quid the cobra exhaust is first on my list of mods!
  2. lol good work! must have been terrifying coming out of the box to be faced with four massive panthers! loving the fa cup pic
  3. awww i'm too tipsy to bother posting pics of cars... so, 1.4 Pug 306 (terrible) 1.8 Pug 306 (way better, had half leather seats and evrrything) 1.8 Mazda mx5 (awesome to drive, great with roof down, but in the end too slow) 3.0 TT 300ZX (total jap fest - tuned, chipped, running 330ish bhp. but rusty and eventually engine blew ) 1.6 civic vti (scremaing 8k red line, schizophrenic vtec engine but too slow off vtec) 350Z ( nice and torquey, comfortable, but not as fast as i was hoping - maybe i need the go faster effect of a loud exhaust)
  4. i've only had the zed a short while, but im 100% so far (1 from 1) that was subtle wave, rather than a flash, and certainly not a toot - too forceful in my opinion.
  5. mmmmm shameless pic whoring, i like! Looks like a gorgeous day for a drive
  6. done that! no preowned ones in at the mo, only new... gonna take it down a few body shop and get some quotes for repair, maybe...
  7. Hi all, Anyone got a front bumper and drivers side front wing sitting unused in the garage? someone has driven into me in the works car park and rather spoiled my day... I think she's admitted liability which is good, but annoyingly her R reg 106 has only suffered a cracked light cluster anyone got any advice on how best to repair? im thinking source at least a front wing (the bumper might be salvageable?), get a bodyshop to fit and then send her the bill? theres got to be plenty of wings and bumpers around in gunmetal, was a pretty common colour! Its for a UK car, 53 plate. Cheers Brillo
  8. looks very good! Cobra exhaust is high up on my list of mods to do - the car just sounds way too muted with the stock exhaust, and a weight saving is always a good thing!
  9. well when i first started getting into cars this was my dream, after seeing it on new top gear series 1... Noble M12 but after having sat in one im not so fussed anymore, although would be awesome on a track. So, current dream cars are: Aston Martin V12 Vantage Audi R8 GT Pagani Zonda F Roadster (the new Huayra thing is just pig ugly in my opinion)
  10. im going to go for this one.... not in a sarcastic way, but im hoping for something cool, ie delaminated tyres, brake discs glowing read hot, the chassis having stretched due to prolonged periods of supersonic travel...
  11. Haha sorry, you cant have one - most are driving the giant racetrack in the sky now either through rust or engine failure (mine was both) Still miss it though!
  12. What roads were they on? They do look stunning! I've got a scottish trip planned soon and looking for recommendations of roads to drive - we're travelling in a clockwise pattern from Glasgow up to fort william, back down to Stirling, and then round edinburgh, cross country and down to Carlisle.... any recommendations?
  13. (at above post) Sorry, that just sounds dirty!
  14. I prefer private to be honest - after all, secondhand car stealer will know nothing about the car, whereas an owner selling you their pride and joy will. And even if a private seller hides something from you, your no better off with a stealer as they wouldnt know about any issues in the first place. However, if you turn up and the owner can show you a religious service schedule, and talks animatedly about the car, your likely buying off an enthusiast, which in my view is the best way to buy
  15. I really like splitters and that looks Big front bumpers are a bit marmite, but splitters give a car proper race look, and that stillen one looks really good.
  16. applying it retrospectively is a bit harsh - if that was the case over here there would be quite a few decent cars that would cost less to buy than they would to tax!
  17. liking the wheels - Tenzo DC-5s? although should have gone for 19s rather than 17s... thats some high profile tyres on there!
  18. you'll rarely be able to use all the power on the road in day to day driving, so when you are able to get out for a proper drive it'll feel special. Its just the little moments... joining a 3 lane A road at midnight a few nights ago i stayed in 3rd all the way to the redline - goodbye, lesser cars! Just need an exhaust for full aural pleasure!
  19. its for this reason that im not going to bother tuning my zed... just not worth it for the cost. Im going to get an exhaust for noise, but other than that, i'd put the money towards a supercharger. the difficulty in tuning a 350Z was one of the negatives for me when considering the car - it would have been considerably easier to tune a turbo car for more power, but the advantages of a smooth torque curve and no lag helped sway me to a zed
  20. a well driven car would be faster off the line without tcs - you need a degree of slip for an optimal start, but if the tcs is on it will cut power when it detects slip. on the other hand, if you're a bad driver, then tcs will stop you lighting up the wheels and going nowhere, or spearing off sideways into a tree.
  21. lol that'd be a scorpion or a cobra then! Y pipe back exhaust for about 400 notes. everything else is north of £800, and a lot of the really nice kit is over a grand. (but normally comes with a y pipe as well)
  22. Also more importantly? whats your budget? all the above are irrelevant if you're trying to do it on the cheap...
  23. No worries there, a exhaust wont give you any extra power on its own, for that you need filter, plenum spacer, decats and an uprev. the exhaust is purely for noise the scorpion and cobra systems are y pipe back, not cat back... they just replace the centre pipe and the back box. A full cat back system replaces the y pipe as well, but that typically another £200-300 more. I would worry that if the flange has gone to the backbox, do you also need a new y pipe? Anyways, if its a system thats just quieter than a K1 you're after, id go for a non resonated Cobra exhaust - i think Tarmac is your man for these
