  1. about 2:40 is where it gets good for me - really like the style and cuts after that point (not that before then isnt good as well) Incidentally whats the track?
  2. mmmm its definitely a buyers market... but seriously, id imagine the early 03-05 zeds are probably starting to level out now - the first 6 or 7 years are going to be the worst for depreciation.
  3. cripes £25k is a lot of dough for a 10 year old car! You'd really have to be skyliner to spend that much, even if it is mint!
  4. Niiiiice! would love a chimaera, i dont think theres a better sounding car anywhere!
  5. Just watched 'Love the Beast', a documentary by Eric Bana about his relationship with his Old skool Ford Coupe and his experience taking it on the Targa Tasmania rally. probably give it about a 6/10, but it did raise a lot of interesting points about car enthusiasts relationships with their cars - particularly if you see a car as a machine, or an object with human like qualities which you can have a real relationship with, and also why you stick with a car even when it causes you no end of trouble. Me personally i've never been that attached to a car - i've had 6 in 4 years now, but to be fair i do miss them all for different reasons. My most challenging car was also the most rewarding - my old 300zx which had no end of problems, but looking back, was a truely truely awesome car, which i miss terribly! any one else seen the film and have similar or contrasting views on their zeds? admittedly being a lot newer there shouldnt be too many horror stories, but does anyone else have a real attachement to their car, so much so that they'd never sell it no matter what happened?
  6. wow that guy has some moves! first time i watched it i did wonder if the film had been played with, you know, sped up, slowed down, played in reverse etc - would be easy to do with a single take static shot as it is. good spot on the zed - is it just a massive coincidence it made it onto this forum?
  7. nice one! 311bhp is a great result - what base engine was that on?
  8. wasnt the top gear clip from the first series that was filmed in HD? I think we'd just got a new TV at that point and it did look phenomenal, really made me want to crank up some trance and just drive for hours!
  9. excusing the graphics, and the inaccurate mpg, its a good idea. I mean come on, if you're unlucky enough to have kids yet you love your zed, you'd try and fit rear seats too. some of the 2+2 coupes out there have terrible rear leg and headroom - but they're still for sale. I say go for it - if you love your zed that much and you have the means to do it, why not? could get another 2-3 years of use out of it before you have to sell it.
  10. invidia gemini true dual? see the other post on here about how it looks when fitted
  11. Awesome! Beats Tanner Foust's Mulholland drive video IMO.
  12. spose i should have said it would be a V35 Skyline, not a G35... im not old enough for an auto just yet! I spose the V35 is more of a spiritual successor to the 300zx, they were both ore heavyweight 2+2 luxury cruisers rather than sports cars. And it was plenty quick enough even with the extra bulk, 0-60 in less than 6 seconds is fine!
  13. mmmm lovely car at a great price! Still a way away from being able to afford it though. GLWTS
  14. Hi All, I'll be honest, I'm up to 50 posts now and i dont actually have a 350z - my plan was to drive my civic coupe over winter while i save up, then buy a zed to replace my old 300zx in march of next year. However, im becoming tempted by an Infiniti G35 Coupe, as they seem to go for less than 350zs do with similar mileage, and the extra seats would be useful. Plus i like rarity - would be very unlikely ever to see another one as they're all imports. Now, i know they're both built on the same platform, and share the same engine, and both have 6spd manual gearboxes with rwd.... and the differences i can think of is the G35 is some 300mm longer and 90kg heavier, and has smaller wheels as standard, but is there anything else i should be aware of? i only say as something like this looks mighty tempting for the cash... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3222970.htm Has anyone driven both to compare? Can anyone think of anything i'm missing here?
  15. wow thats looking very nice indeed! Going to watch the vids when i get home from work, but loving the white with red wheels and decals, really clean. Im sure you'll get the teething problems fixed and then it will be a beast! Any idea of the power level of the engine? Would like to see the dyno runs if you have any?
  16. That looks properly the business, loving the true dual! do you have to get it with the crossover pipe, or can you keep it straight at that point? might well have to save up for one of these, was just going to go for a scorpion, but this looks so much nicer!
  17. awww sweet, im hoping its going to be empty when we go next wednesday.
  18. My god porsche are the most boring car company ever. DESIGN A DIFFERENT CAR! The cayenne is a 911 on stilts, the Panamera is a 911 on steroids, a Cayman is a 911 before it reaches puberty.
  19. Welcome! To be honest if they bought the 300zx out new now, with a modern twin turbo v6, id have it over the 350z... it is the handsomer car in my opinion, nothing beats the side profile of a ZX. But as you say, reliability and im guessing rust is slowly but surely eating away at your ZX? Thats whats happened to mine
  20. cruise control is my biggest desire for spec, even though id only use it very occasionally! Something about the lure of feet free motorway just feels right on a sports tourer. After that, some kind of leather, and then RAYS wheels. Am i right in thinking that while almost everything else was an option elsewhere, cruise control was ONLY available with the GT pack?
  21. Anyone else rather enjoying the warm weather at the moment! Doing anything out of the ordinary to celebrate? Its just a small win, but yesterday walked down our local and had a pint in the afternoon sunshine after work - and might even wash my car if it stays like this at the weekend
  22. might as well fill up halfway for round town, and when you do brim it for a motorway drive, the increase in fuel economy will offset the decrease due to extra weight. And if you're worried about weight, the spare wheel and jack is a good 20kgs - again from the rear of the car, so that'll balance out the heavy fuel... although say half a tank is 40kgs, thats only 2.7% of the weight of the car - might make a small difference off the line and in corners, but at motorway speeds surely the drag coefficient is the biggest factor.
  23. hmm, spinning the wheels in 3rd in the dry is a big worry! I'd p'haps check the pressures as well... only time I've spun wheels in third is when the turbos kicked in in my old 300zx, but that was in damp conditions and on Ling Long Happytime tyres! Loving the plate by the way!
  24. also, the only way to have a relaxed drive on a motorway is either to be the slowest thing on the motorway (gf did this on the way back to wales - did an indicated 50, and never over took anything) or the fastest (cruising along at 85-90 - never have to move out the fast lane) Its only if you're caught up in the middle that you'll have to deal with other motorway users!
