  1. If the D1 throtlle controller is one of the 6 then you won't need it after an upRev Unfortunately not, the list is: Exhaust Air filter Body kit Window tints Alloy wheels Exterior decorative changes (roof, boot and wing mirrors are painted black, led brake lights and debadged) I think elephant or bell might allow more so come renewal I can just go to them if one of the specialists can't sort me out with something better. They seem a bit anal with mods in general though so I'd prefer to go elsewhere next time if possible.
  2. I've just got some of these wheels which will be going on shortly. There is a photo of Taddy's from when his suspension was standard and without spacers here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=44615&p=743470
  3. I really want to have an uprev done and I'd probably be looking at tieing in a service at the same time but admiral won't allow any more modifications. I'm 6 months into a 12 month policy and don't want to cancel and be shafted by their cancellation charges. If it can wait until September when my insurance renewal is due, count me in
  4. I'm going to give the specialists a try next time round as I'll be 25. Admiral have a limit of 6 modifications which I've now reached so I can't get an uprev done if I stay with them.
  5. One word, spacers. Does look good though. I'm tempted by some coilovers to go with my new wheels, I nearly got these HKS LS+ earlier: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190646331676 but I only went to £400 as I've not really decided if pratically they'll be a good idea yet as I think I'll end up scraping everywhere as there are a couple of places on my journey to work which could cause a problem. Someone I know has a yellow vx220, he loves it. Hes a bit on the large side though, I've got no idea how he manages to get in it (or out). The only journeys I ever did in one was as a passenger in my brothers lotus elise 111s on the motorway for a couple of hours. It's not really much fun when not sat behind the wheel.
  6. Lol, not sure I'd class Yorkshire as "down south". I was going to get these but then I got some finichi firenze wheels from eBay second hand after coldel spotted them going cheap as they were listed as needing a refurb, but basically it was just the centre caps and fake screw heads that are flaking paint. The seller messaged me that he'd take an offer of £440 after I'd offered £400, but he was a bit snotty with me and doesn't have great feedback so I was a bit put off. The sizes (8j front and 10j rear) put me off a bit also, the 245 front was right on the limit of what was allowed so I thought the tyres might look a bit puffed out.
  7. A colleague has one and he much preferred his mx5 but he needed more seats.

    NinjaZ makeover!

I like it, the dark highlights compliment the azure blue well. I think doing the door handles to match would make it look even better.
  9. Fiat are just copying what mini do, so expect a fiat 500 coupe soon.
  10. OK thanks, will save me buying a new set then.
  11. I've been given some yokohama tyres that a friend has used on track during the summer to go on my new 19" wheels, but it looks like a couple of them have got quite hot and picked up a lot of rubber. I can pick it off with my hands with a bit of effort, but should I just throw these away or should they be ok, I don't really have any experience with tyres that have been tracked. He seems to think they'll be fine and it'll fall off after running them a bit but I'm not so sure. They've still all got about 6mm of tread left so it seems a waste if they are fine underneath, but obviously don't want anything unsafe on and I'll just get a new set of falken/ vreds if not. Some pictures of the worst one can be found here, I can get some more if needs be: http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c316/Gudzy/Tyres/
  12. 0 offset is when the stud holes are at the middle of the wheel. Positive means they are more towards the side you see, so they will sit further into the wheel arch. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_(wheel)
  13. It's even cheaper parked on the road than on the driveway.

    20 Inch Rims

Original tyre size is 225 45 18 front and 245 45 18 back. The traction control expects for the rear tyre to be larger and so can kick in when just travelling normally, as it thinks the rear wheel is going too fast. There have been people with the same size tyre and some have problems and others don't, but if I was buying fresh rubber I'd stagger them properly. I think I'd be looking at 255 30 20 front and 285 30 20 rear but someone else which actually runs 20s should be along to advise. Personally I think 20s look too big when I've seen them but that's just my opinion. Between the falken and the vreds I'd choose the vreds if there is only a £15 difference.
  15. I didn't really enjoy being a passenger in my brothers Elise, it's a car to drive rather than one to be driven around in. Plus it can be a pain to get in without the roof off.
  16. They have done that, a diesel nozzle is larger than a petrol one and doesn't normally fit in a petrol car.
  17. Have a search for "dual boot" on google which is having 2 operating systems and you then choose which one to use on startup. At uni we had windows, mac osx and fedora as a tri boot but I tended to just use windows. My lecturer had never used windows and was a big mac fan.
  18. Cheers Coldel for the heads up, I've bought these. Watch this space, they are going to be changing colour...
  19. Some companies will match it or give some bonus to try and get the business. It doesn't help those of us with a shed. My 2nd car is an impreza sport (meaning there's no turbo), if I'm driving it in winter instead of the zed I think I should have a reduced premium overall as I'm driving a safer car for the conditions and which has a lower value, but that's another matter. I work at a specialist motorhome insurer and we will match the NCD that you have on your car in certain circumstances (limits on number of claims and convictions).
  20. Did you have this in the 350Z? If so any pics?
  21. It's snowing here in West Yorkshire now. It was forecast to snow pretty much all over England today.
  22. I find that the K1 with bungs in it is a lot more manageable. I suppose the roadster will be louder though anyway. I do tend to leave them out but then my commute doesn't involve anything over 40mph, they always go in if I'm going onto a motorway.
  23. That's not my experience. I always planned on getting a turbo/ wrx impreza but found insurance was going to come out about double for the Subaru as it did for a zed, so I got the zed instead. Convertible Zeds were about double the cost of a coupe insurance wise for me though, so a convertible zed would be comparable to an impreza wrx in my experience.
