  1. With the rear haunches and drooped front nose, it does look a bit Supra'ish. That would not be a good thing IMO. I think the 350 styling is better than the 370, would be good to see a return to that sharper look. But finally, something from Nissan.

Just wondering, is anyone on here going to buy one?
  3. Don't quote me, but I vaguely remember something about there being an anomaly where revups registered in Feb and Mar 2006 were the lower tax bracket. OP that is a very precise requirement, good luck with the hunt but you might find yourself looking around for some time.
  4. All done, phew! Toe links are a known weak point on these cars (also Elises) and should be treated as perishables. Not a cheap bit of kit by any means but the outcome from a failed toe link is something like this ... note not my car, just to show how catastrophic fails are! Basically the rear wheel collapses and points any direction it wants So here is the VX up in the air getting the work done - undertrays off, wheels off, then removing the old ones and putting in the reinforced kit. This involves drilling a new mounting in the subframe so is not easily done without the car lift and easy access. Also whilst the car was up in the air replaced the hub carrier bolts, another know failure point, with high strength replacements. There was also some tasty looking kit tucked away under wraps I was having a nose around...
  5. Yeah dark door mirrors would really set it off
  6. Did the little job of reseating the gear surround today and screwing it to the surround. Shows off the carbon gear shaft in the car much better. Also got this very important lot through ready to be fitted by Matthew Bentley Motorsports tomorrow uprated toe links and strengthened hub carrier bolts
  7. 928 V8 beat the 911 all day long
  8. https://www.350z-uk.com/forum/30-forced-induction/ Would advise a nose through here.
  9. Welcome along. Please do read the for sale rules before spending time putting your ad together and submitting. Saves your time and mods time. Check the minimum quality post count (please dont spam) and ensure the ad has a price, photos with username etc.
  10. There is nothing wrong with the revup - have been reports of it being a bit greedy on oil, but some DE non revups were as well (I know mine was). OP for that budget, you are looking at a reasonable early DE, maybe get the GT spec if you can as there as some nice extras there. Performance wise nothing between the DE and DE revup that you will notice day to day, the HR engine though was pretty much rebuilt from the ground up and a different beast altogether - but on your budget you would do well to avoid HR's as they are probably full of problems awaiting to jump out and cost you a few quid to sort. Do bear in mind you are buying a 15 year old car, do make sure you have a good understanding of running costs i.e. new clutch and flywheel will set you back £600, brakes are hundreds for pads and similarly for discs. You can easily spend over a grand getting a few perishables done and it does come as a surprise to new owners who are used to spending £40 for a set of pads on a warm hatchback or the like.
  11. Good news today it seems in the govt briefing, you are actually allowed to travel around the country to other homes whilst infected with the virus if you have children all those single parents that have been getting it wrong for the last 10 weeks or so can rest easy!
  12. Aye its not really a fair test if both were applied in the same way but in a way that works for one, but not the other. It kind of defeats the object of the whole thing really. The only finding here is that when applied in a certain way, Megs appears to be better, and not that one is better than the other.
  13. Have you tried chatting with Tarmac?
  14. Looks like someone saw lockdown as an opportunity to turn a motorway into a drag strip
  15. Loving the shelves. I got told by the other half to throw some stuff out, I have a cupboard in the garden, a trunk in the garden, as well as a sideboard in the house all full of stuff I have collated over the years. I think I have about 75 bottles of stuff. I got told yesterday that some of it has to go as she hasn't seen me use more than 15-20 different things this year...she is right, so a load of old AG stuff is first to go and will be binned today
  16. Good work on the battery. I had one that was working on my VX but leave it a couple of weeks and it was dead...changing the battery on a VX is a nightmare, so I put it off but in the end just did it and now it fires up on the button each time, fantastic! And yes, you need to gold the rest of the engine bay now!
  17. Has really turned out well, some nice angles on the back there, less of a fan of the lip on the front, but otherwise it looks fantastic.
  18. It was a tongue in cheek comment. That said, there was no need to cheer and yip at the result, some decorum would have been more appropriate given the subject matter As for the 10% that's not true, here is the agreement https://www.rcn.org.uk/news-and-events/news/nhs-pay-deal-for-england-accepted which shows a 3% minimum pay rise in year one with two subsequent rises over the following two years up to a minimum of 6.5% - some nurses would have got to 10% pay rise over three years some not but ultimately the pay rise was around 2-3% each year.
  19. My cousin had something like £5k tied up in a package holiday to the USA and Disneyland etc. once in a lifetime trip for the kids. They got their money back minus £500 'admin'
  20. They are taking arbitrary amounts out for 'admin' just to stick it in the bank - to be honest we are just happy with whatever we get back and accept the companies will take money off us.
  21. Given the Tories yipping and cheering in parliament when they voted down a public sector pay rise (including our beloved NHS who everyone is in love with again) a couple of years ago I cannot see the current government doing anything other than a freeze, until the next election comes around and they re-recruit the police they let go and pay the NHS a salary each year that doesn't decrease in real world terms because of inflation
  22. Its a mixed morning day so far - the press will of course sensationalise any photo they see and present it as typical when its not, if you go on twitter and see what other parts of the public transport system look like it is very empty. Went for a cycle this morning and definitely more cars on the road, pavements are still pretty clear and shopping in the supermarket hasn't changed. But yes, the government has said those that should be working, should be working. The communication style and content as like the rest of this situation, has been an absolute farce. Still the time for an inquiry into the whole thing and learning the lessons around the mistakes that they have made is for another day. Right now we need to work out the best way to balance a nationalised workforce that has to be paid for by everyone working and earning money. God know what our tax is going to look like for the coming years, I dread to think.
  23. From a purely investment point of view, you might do better elsewhere, what I have read is that classic car prices are all over the place and the passage of time is no longer a guarantee to increased value. If though you are looking at it from an ownership and investment point of view then even if you don't make anything on it 5 years down the line you will have enjoyed the car and had your fun with it. So as an investment you would in effect lock it away somewhere and never drive it to keep the overheads down which will eat into any profit. I got lucky with a few cars I have owned, the Celica GT4 was just turning the corner price wise I paid £4.2k for it, drove it on a Scotland hoon and a Euro road trip whilst taking it out for fun drives then sold it 3 years later for £9k. But given I paid in that time around £1k for insurance, god knows how much petrol and other associated costs, in my mind the £5k wasn't profit it was paying for the cost of ownership in that time. The one that got away was the R33 I bought for £4k and sold for what I thought was a good price of £5.5k a year later but straight after that the prices of R34s was getting stupid which dragged the R32 prices up out of reach of many at £20k+ which in turn increased demand for the R33 further down the food chain - my R33 would be worth around £10k+ now! As Martin says, you want to be looking at advice on future classics - was that what you got on the DeLorean or was it just a cool idea to own one for a while (must admit it would be cool to drive one!)
