I've given up, read up every bodies advice, resisted doing anything for over a year because I didn't think it would work. So in the end I gave in took my explorer off replaced it with Google chrome solved the messaging issues taking 5 mins to type one line. A warm if its as referred to as above and its in quite small letters that are lit up, I think you'll find that's a part number mine is 377A. Its always llt up I noticed mine about a year afterwards.

Professional detailers use the thumb nail technique, if you can feel it with you nail, you will be unlikely to smooth it out. Certainly if you have scratched into the undercoat you'll be lucky. Close up photo required to give an opinion in your example.
