  1. It's not my friends first car, just his first Fast car My first car was a Fiesta Pop Plus, great fun
  2. A friend just bought one, it's a great car and it's his first fast car and I have to keep reminding him to ease into it, and he just keeps telling me about how he hit 145
  3. Yup, I'd want to see a receipt or some sort of proof of the work being carried out, or parts purchased.
  4. I've got to agree with most of whats written above. E85 with FI gives an extra 100hp on whats basically the same set-up (maybe bar injector change). Yes, US sites have lots of guys with higher figure but you also see lots of pictures of people with holed cases and destroyed rods and pistons on US sites Personally I find circa 420WHP plenty for the road in a rwd car and I find 4wd a bit boring tbh by comparison. Stay safe, hopefully we'll get a meet soon and I can bring my new NA VQ motor out for a run
  5. I'd take it to Nissan and get them to check it,then claim the money back via the insurance as long as you have it in writing that they will pay you back.
  6. As per the title, I needed a wiper amplifier for my 1986 Nissan S12, that I've got a thread on, and while trawling the web I found an Austrian Nissan supplier for lots of discontinued parts. Hope it's some help for some one else as well https://www.nissanparts.at/
  7. You could get 370Z rays for reasonable money at 19" as another option?

That's fine by me, our spare set of rims have MPS4S on the front and some crappy things on the rear both of which would do as a spare set
  9. Nissan are having the same issues as everyone else because of Brexit, extra paperwork, so it did take about twice as long as usual to get here from the main parts store in Europe. I'd suggest you check what it is before buying the same part, because nothing made any difference, just pulling the handle more and more, then it finally stopped releasing altogether.
  10. So, my wife's Z driver side door has been slowly getting worse over the last month or so with not wanting to release the door from the exterior door handle. I removed the handle to see if I could work out what was going on and then the door card, both nice and easy, after you've worked out how to release the airbag connection. Then I started on the metal anti-theft panel. What a ballache..... It took me hours to get inside the metal panel behind the trim panel and even then I couldn't get it off properly and at what I needed to get at, I decided I wasn't spending half a day dismantling it and putting it back together. But I did work out that the cable from handle to lock had stretched beyond tolerance. Quick check with my buddy at Nissan to find out you have to buy the lock with both cables attached.... FFS Thankfully my Nissan bud sorted me with staff rates so it got done for around the same as the part cost. So, word of warning, no yanking those door handles in future..........
  11. As above, I always use willtheyfit.com , it's great for plugging in tyre and wheel sizes to see the results. You can then jam your hand or fingers in between your arches and tyre to work out what the change will do
  12. Makes sense. Some stereos have an output to extend electric aerials when you turn the stereo on, these can usually be used to turn the amp on in many cases but I'd check. There is usually a switched live and a constant live to a stereo, the switched live can be used to the remote amp on. Do NOT under any circumstances use the constant live as it will kill your battery as the amp will be sitting there on all the time. Hope this is some help.

Both pairs I bought were on the forum and I think I saw one of them because they were on FB as well. I wouldn't mind a spare set, as currently we share a set of Rays as our spare wheels, mainly due to availability of tyres we like (MPS4Ss), so have had issues when we've had unrepairable punctures and have had to run different front and rears. So if you're interested in a trade for some rays or a cash sale (i'd sell the rays if you're not interested in a spare set), please let me know.
  14. Got to agree with the people have are suggesting just going down the more mods route. I did look at changing mine a few times but then went full modding mad and went FI along with a string of other things. As long as I don't think about how much I've spend I'm fine but seriously, it has been worth it, smiles for miles and I never get tired with how she looks, just like my wife.
  15. Amplifier remote turn on needs to be connected so that the bose amp comes on. Is there a power aerial output or something like that on the head unit that you can use? Is there nothing on the adaptor loom that say remote/steering wheel controls? I did a swap a few years back and ended up cutting and connecting some wires as the adaptor loom wasn't great, I don't have that car anymore so can't go look, sorry.
  16. Nice, I've got a mate who has one of these, loves it, he's has the R34 front end swap, good look it you fancy it
  17. We've had 4 zeds, two 350z, and two 370z, a coupe and roadster of each, years 04, 06, 09, 10. They've all been great cars. In all honesty I prefer the 370z as I find it slightly more comfortable on long runs. But then I'd probabaly rather have a mega tidy well looked after 350Z than a run into the ground 370z. I'd suggest going to see a few, sorry to repeat myself but as above, I'd rather a clean tidy well looked Z than a run into the ground Z. As others have said, anything pre-2012, 350 HR or 370 and you need to budget in gallery gasket unless it's been done. You also need to know when it's had a clutch and uprated clutch slave and budget accordingly. There are cases of them going at relatively low mileage. Have a really good look around then for overall condition and get one that's got lots of history showing it's had regular oil and got decent brakes, tyres etc, so anything else consumable wise that might need doing. My 350 used to do fronts every 8-10k miles and rears every 5k before I found Michlelins that have better grip and last way longer. If you find one that has been looked after and has a few nice mods, IMO it is worth paying a bit more if they are mods you'd have done yourself. If it's been mapped, make sure there is paperwork, if it hasn't, I'd recommend a trip to Abbey, (I've used them alot and always had good results) or another approved tuner (there are lists of approved tuners on the ECUtek site), and get UPREV if it's a 350Z and ECUtek if it's a 370Z. You won't be getting the best out of HFCs and a CAT back exhaust plus drop in filter or some sort of intake mod without a good tune, plus the difference in drivability is huge. Finally, once you've found a good one, enjoy PS. I've driven 911s and find them too refined, the Z is a rawer drive and honestly I prefer it, but then I prefer my FI Z to an R35.
  18. I'm hoping the vaccine will help push it down and as more and more people have it, that should really help reduce numbers as things re-open. My wife had her first jab and felt ill for about 48 hours afterwards but was fine when she woke up on the 3rd day, and as soon as I can get it, I will do, want to start doing stuff again and that includes car meets and shows.

I've bought two sets and @nissanman312 has bought a set, it depends on condition, but if they are newly refurbed, I'd guess they'd sell for around anything up to £2k depending on tyres and how you've had them done. As loose rims at least £1200, maybe closer to £1500 again, depends on how you've had them done. I've seen them up for more money but never seen them sell.
  20. All caught up, I ran out of reactions for today Amazing piece of work, as others have said, can't wait to see more
  21. Wow, only just read this thread, great looking build, can't wait until I get through to the end.
  22. I've got uprated struts due to my bigger wing, still doesn't help so much getting it off the poppers on the first click, even with the supposedly uprated poppers, but I don't have any issues with it trying to sag.
  23. One of which is a ali undertray/sump guard. I made foamex template and then cut this from some 1.2mm ali, and will be adding a thicker plate at the actual sump location.
  24. I've taken it out and it's hilarious fun, big smiles, very loose at the rear but quite predictable. It made a little over 250whp, so well over double what it had back in the day, and proabably around double what I'd squeezed out of the old CA18ET with my mods. Big shout out to everyone involved: Brett at FVS in Leicester, Terry at RetroMasters, Leadfoot Racing, and obviously Mark and the Team @ Abbey Motorsport who have pulled it altogether I'm down to 5 things to tick off my list.
