  1. First of all hope everybody is having a great christmas, secondly sorry if this post is in the wrong place!. As of 6 days ago i've unfortunately found myself in the market for a new car. This is thanks to the efforts of a 3rd party driver deciding they prefered my side of the road better than theirs..🤦‍♂️ I know this is a zed forum but I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the GT86/BRZ platforms?. The current options I'm contemplating are either going back to a 370 or trying out a GT86, a lot of the people I've spoken to have mentioned the obvious power differences between the VQ and the boxer, however I was planning on running a turbo from Tuning Developments if I did pick up a 86 to try and alleviate the power differences. I was just hoping a few people here would have some opinions or experiences with both platforms and could offer some insight.
  2. Bit of an update for anyone who's interested, spoke to the seller today, from what they know it's had rear end damage done, it's currently a daily and they've had no issues or warning lights. They also recommended not bothering with a pre purchase inspection as it will just get failed straight away, apparently most inspections won't even bother with it as it's cat S so would be a waste of money?. Overall I'm getting a few alarm bells ringing and it just doesn't sit overly right with me, back to the drawing board!
  3. Cheers for all the info and opinions guys!, definitely a lot to think about and a lot to look into for the car. Has anybody used AA/RAC or anyother pre purchase inspections before?, as I don't have anybody overly knowledgeable in this area I could take with me would it be worth getting a professional to look it over before seriously considering?
  4. Afternoon All, Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place!, I'm not 100% sure where a post like this would go, I haven't provided any links as I don't want to break any forum rules 🙂 I've been doing the rounds on the major selling sites and have come across an 18 plate Cat S 370z, the only details about it on the ad are "Came in P/X. CAT S Damaged Repaired" I'm going to speak with the seller tomorrow to see if I can find out any more information but I was wondering if anybody here had any experience with buying Cat S cars?, It's something I've never considered before so I'm a bit out of depth with this. It does seem to be coming from a reputable company if that alters opinions or not. Cheers in advance!
  5. Afternoon All This is my first post on the forum but I've been lurking for some time, so firstly wanted to say hi! and can't wait to get involved in this community. After having a look around a colleagues 370z it sealed the deal and I'm now on the scout for one of my own!. By the time I'm ready to purchase, my final budget is going to be around £13k. I was having a quick look on Autotrader earlier this morning and came across a 2011 370z with 92,000 miles on the clock which is under my budget but more importantly I'm able to snap it up now. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102149043128?advertising-location=at_cars&include-delivery-option=on&make=NISSAN&model=370 Z&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&page=1&postcode=sg76qt&radius=1500&revisit=true&seller-type=trade&sort=relevance&selectedDid=10017772#deal-builder-total-price-part-exchange There were a few things that stuck out on the MOT advisory which concerned me a little bit -Nearside Front Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material and offside front (1.1.11 (c)) -Nearside Rear Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material and offside rear (1.1.11 (c)) -Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint has slight play (5.3.4 (a) (i)) And the 92,000 miles is quite a bit higher than I was originally looking for and with 5 previous owners. I was just hoping if you guys and gals had any input from experience on whether this is worth snapping up or not.
