  1. I agree with you there, which I am totally cool about. However, if plod wants to impose some sort of Big Brother style enforcement so I am constantly paranoid about what speed I am going then this is just plain wrong. There's so many criminals, etc out there but as said the motorist = revenue, since we are easy targets (its a fact). Whereas if I were to deal some canabis on the streets, I'd get a slap on the wrist - thats if I were to get caught, which I wouldn't because plod is always out with his speed gun.
  2. So between the age of 20 and 23 you won the lottery? How the f*ck do you get insurance on a lambo at 23 Not trying to sound harsh, but I think your telling a few fibs. I hope this thread doesn't turn out to be a d**k swinging contest, so to speak - my car is better than your car and all that rubbish. First things first, its Gallardo - something you'd remember 100% if you did manage to have one and secondly your age dude - you're either a lottery winner, a football player or a drug lord (at 23?!). Post some pics and prove me wrong...
  3. Excellent choice sir! You won't regret it. You'll be waiting a long time until a second hand one pops up here - I was waiting for a couple of months and just gave up. TBH, the second hand prices wouldn't be as drastic price cut as you'd think since they are quite pricey, highly desirable and rare. You'll just be better off by importing a brand new one (at least then you know you'll defo have no problems with it at all and know its complete unabused history).
  4. You're the customer with the cash at the end of the day - there's loads of companies that will insure you for around what you were paying so phone around. They're just pulling a fast one, which is probably an automated letter generated and printed from their database (they send renewals out in batches each day). There wasn't literally 1 person calculating it all again for you - a machine came up with this random quote. I was getting two ends of the spectrum - some as much as £6k+ to insure my car. Where did they get that number from!? Try the usual: Chris Knott Admiral Bell Sky Insurance etc
  5. I hope they are fair and honest: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8192748.stm If its another 'gotcha' type policing (writing speed tickets with penalty points), I am totally against it - we already live in a Big Brother nation and the last thing motorists want is to be spied on making them feel they're being watched with their every move. If its a case of pulling over those going a fair bit over the limit and slapping their wrists, then can't really complain but still think this will turn into something much more hostile across our lovely lands. I'm getting REALLY sick of this country - it feels about as free as North Korea atm.
  6. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coyote-750ml-Al ... 830&sr=8-1 ??? You can get one to match the zed.
  7. Goes on top of this around the edge (when you take the upper plenum [top] off): Its the shiney strip of metal in the middle. Stock engines don't have this, but if you put a plenum in (a piece of metal shaped like the engine), then the air can flow into it easier since there is more room - hence more power in theory.
  8. Never seen them in the flesh but after seeing every Corsa, Punto & Saxo in town with the damn things on I wouldn't even dream of putting the things on a zed. They used to be quite cool (on a Lexus), then the chav brigade went seriously OTT on the things. All I can say is I hope you know what you're doing. (No offence, just not my thing).
  9. Totally agree - Astons are perfect as they are. Stunning car and very very classy - my girlfriend says she likes it a lot too (this is a big plus). Not sure if this is true but on full throttle you can hear them over 2 miles away if in countryside. I bet your itching to get passed your break in period. Very very nice and congrats - you've no doubt worked hard for it, so definitely enjoy it.
  10. I'm going to have to say Ian, because he has an Azure and everyone knows that Azure is the fastest.
  11. Just leaving a contract with a well known council right now - and this is spot on thruthful. They do nothing and complain about "how hard they are working", but most of the time walk around like headless chickens not knowing their @r5e from their elbow.
  12. If anyone steals my Volk one's they'd be tied to the back of my zed and participate in a speed run.
  13. Good find. I think they'd look great with a zed already with a carbon exterior theme going on (bonnet, etc), especially on blade or gunmetal.
  14. Not sure about UK, but apparently the US figures are: 2003..... 36,728 2004..... 30,690 2005..... 27,278 2006..... 24,635 2007..... 18,957 2008..... 10,337
  15. Spoke to Tech Carbon and the interior bits have apparently been put on hold (they're very busy with little staff atm). Not sure what is planned and ETA's...
  16. Just don't drive it until you get a job. The only time you should sell it would be when you can't afford to live properly (i.e. eat, pay the bills, etc). How come your company didn't give you any signs that you and others could be laid off? I always get sneaky suspiscions and ask management openly - then again, I'm a contractor so im always moving about.
  17. I heard differently - TechCarbon were doing the interior parts first.
  18. See them all the time around London. They're fast becoming a serious Aston competitor. Totally stunning looks, however I feel that they would be best suited to white with black wheels.
  19. Congrats! Azure is the best btw - you go faster.
  20. Bingo (nice zed btw)! rawbhp; It's up to you, but I'd recommend keeping a theme like Jay has otherwise you'll end up with a mish mash of random nastyness.
  21. Welcome! Not the same alloys shown in the pic, but silver with black wheels is THE choice to go for if your wanting more heads to turn: Some people have had their rays painted black with a coloured lip on them and they look great. Or you could just change them for different alloys and keep the others for track and winter use. As for the other stuff, there are various traders advertised on the Portal page - drop them a PM and ask for prices. The rear LEDs pretty much everyone on here gets them from a user called ZMANALEX. I got mine from him, simple plug and play for all versions and cost a lot less than Nissan want them for (and their genuine one's).
  22. There's a few options - you could always look into getting that temporary car wrap film stuff (looks and feels like paint but wayyy cheaper). When I say temporary, I mean until you want to put it back to original colour - Ferrari's, etc sometimes have them, so its a tried and tested solution with many colours on offer (you can wash it the same, etc and I have been told that it collects less dirt due to its properties). Failing that then yes you can get a full respray. Have no idea how much it would cost though because it depends on the colour you want (i.e. flip paint costs loads more than metallic and each metallic is priced different per litre and so on). I would guestimate around £3k - £3.5k. Resale stuff goes out the window - it just means you'll probably sell it quicker because its better quality rather than adding value to it (esp if it is a custom unique colour tailored to your tastes).
  23. Thanks. One of many on here I am sure. I love my rims. People say they're black from a distance, but they're not - infact they are dark charcoal grey and when it's sunny it makes that extra sparkle that you won't get with an actual deep black finish. I'm liking your wheels too! Shiney! There's a fine line with shiney alloys - too much on a cheap heavy looking wheel can ruin your car (only my opinion), whereas if they look nimble and fresh with that 'dazzle' (rather than 'bling') then its all good. Not looking forward to keeping them clean in winter though...
  24. Its one of the main reasons I fell in love with the zed. I saved long and hard for this - finally a noise the zed deserves! In my eye's its THE exhaust to have, although don't even ask how much it is... (its very expensive, but worth every penny). Had to get it shipped from the states and waited for just over a week for delivery. Forked out hundreds just for the delivery and our lovely customs tax - however, still slightly cheaper than getting it from the UK atm. I had it delivered and stood before me is a MASSIVE box weighing 71lb: Opened it up whilst smiling ear to ear and took more pics of the shiney box of joy: Back box: Center section: Y-Pipe: Altogether: And finally on the car: What a PERFECT noise! Also complements my new Volks I put on a few weeks ago : Very very happy with the car now. The main things have been done to it and as always have a few smaller things planned (such as carbon interior parts) and possibly a pop charger and that'll be that (until next year when I plan to make a shiney engine bay, but that's another story). Giving my bro a ride in it tomorrow since its sunny - he's never seen it and promised to make a memorable day for him. Also the zed now feels slightly smoother to ride since the emissions are flowing more freely down the pipes. It just feels more 'flowy' than the stock pipes and is just amazing. Edit: I will try and get some videos up of my car, but at a later date (need to buy a decent HD camcorder first rather than a crappy mobile video with rubbish sound).
