  1. It's a shame owners feel they have to do this. Whether your driving a shed on wheels, focus, zed or even a GTR and your happy with it then don't try and make it something its not. What a numpty! They seriously don't know their cars... Maybe I should put a 'WRX STI' badge on the back of mine to make me "cooler" - my zed is blue likea scooby. No one will know...
  2. One word: patience. I waited for months after I could afford one. This actually benefited me massively and I appreciate it 100x more - it's my baby.
  3. was this a Gatso or a mobile one? I only do some spirited driving out in the wilderness with enjoyable roads - but even then its nothing dangerous or crazy (i.e. racing style) and always looking out for potential hazards and plod. I don't agree with these camera's at all, unless used in built up areas (i.e. schools, hospitals, etc). My golden rule is just don't speed, especially in urban areas. Might sound boring, but you avoid this type of stuff (although I agree its inevitable you'll probably get caught one day - we're all human and make mistakes, pushing that pedal a little harder than you should at times).
  4. I'm with Bell as well. Make sure you declare ALL mods if you have any - even the slightest change and it'll be a reason not to pay out if the worst happens. I've heard bad things about Flux as well, although I can't verify if it is true (could be rumours flying around and people caught word and its a downward spiral). If its for the sake of spending an extra £50-£100 to be with a company you can trust then do it. There is also this thread to give you an idea what people are paying: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=24315 Remember - age plays a big part, but so does the location (a rural cottage / small town in countryside often won't have big claims as thieves and vandals are few and far between, whereas a city centre has more scum in them).
  5. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25465&hilit=one+pic+of+your+pride Welcome and Enjoy!
  6. Can't wait to see Button vs Hamilton vs Schumacher!
  7. I have little doubt that in 2-3 years when the economy picks up again a lot of people on this forum will be driving 370z's (especially if they're second hand with warranty left on them). OK - it's not a "big impact" car like the 350z had over its predecessors, but give it time and you'll want one (and Nissan know this). I don't like the fact it is so stumpy looking with an even bigger butt, whereas the 350z looks noticeably longer in comparison (I know it is longer). Right now from pics I think it looks like a love child between a 350z and one of those Crysler Crossfire's However, if you got the car in the right colour you'll no-doubt have different reactions from the public (for me white, yellow or red stand out and would be real head turners). I personally don't think the 350z looks the muts nuts as standard (sorry guys) - it looks too curvy and soppy for such a powerful car, but a few subtle and tasteful mods and voila - a totally different agressive looking car that the engine deserves! Thats what I love about the zed and why it suddenly turns lots of heads.
  8. Treat the car well dude and it'll treat you the same back. To be hitting red line's you must be ragging the nuts off it - and with a V6 under the bonnet, I can only assume your trying to get quick starts or even racing the thing. As mentioned before, its a powerful street sports car - if you want racing action I'd strongly advise on taking it on the track and doing some drifting and tuition. I don't mean for this to sound like I'm having a go, its just everyone here takes really good care for their pride and joy and to most it's a shock to hear why anyone would want to damage this type of car (to many this is fairly disrespectful to such a machine). You can take any car; zed, Ferrari or even a Veyron - keep red lining it and you'll have BIG bills to repair it (so you'll end up hating it rather than enjoying it).
  9. Hey folks, Saw this on Pistonheads: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topi ... our%20Pics Amazing pictures and wants me to get out in the zed and go for an adventure like these guys (Instead I'm stuck in an office). Such stunning scenery! Does anyone have pictures of zeds going through Europe like this?
  10. Never heard of this, however if you take the door cover off from the inside there is a window motor reset button that may clear it if it is an electronic issue.
  11. I got the Momo version on my JDM. It's slightly smaller than the OEM UK versions but has no steering wheel controls (I actually like this - lets me get on with driving the car rather than fiddling about ) I also believe the momo appeared on the R34 GTR Z-Tune as well (but with red bits of leather to match it's interior). I've never come across a replacement zed steering wheel with controls on it. Looks like you'll have to put up with it or lose the controls.
  12. I think your correct. TBH - there isn't much in it between versions when in a straight line so I have been told. Power plays a big factor, however it isn't everything - the zed has such an amazing noise and there is so many exhausts and mods to choose from. Plus RS Tuning have finalyl cracked the code to the ECU for a remap for more power for around £500, which many zedders here are very happy about. Now we have a chance to be a bit 'GTR' and put mods on for performance too. (The current ECU cancels out any upgrades - its very clever).
  13. Hello! Take a look at this one: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=25388 Its for sale from a member on here - at that price, it won't be aorund for long!
  14. Sheesh! Amazing price for an amazing car (Don't accept any lower!). I hope this is because your in a rush to sell and not because zed prices have finally hit hot-hatch prices!!! Good luck on your trip - yes, you will miss the zed but like you said a trip like this can't be ignored. Asia is the best place in the world (Malaysia was amazing when I went - the BEST place I have been trecking around). You won't regret it when you step off that plane for the biggest adventure of your life. Goodluck with the trip and sale...!

    got a zed

Very nice - the silver one's look good if you have black wheels, so you may want to get them sprayed / changed if you want to stand out from the crowd a little more.
  16. They are virtually bullet proof if you look after them as said. However if your doing that sort of milleage then for me I'd probably just get a runaround (£1k) and then you won't care where its parked, who hits it, etc as well. You have to remember that this car was basically a £30k+ sports car when new, so it will cost more than your average Vauxhall to move about and maintain (although this isn't usually a problem since they're very well made). It's not as bad as you think if your just driving normally, so don't worry it is fully capable of doing long distances. For me the zed is about a special occasion - it's that sunny day or weekend away. If I drove it around every day in the rain, snow, sleet and shine then it probably won't have that sense of occasion about it. It's up to you though...
  17. I do the team America emergency wave:
  18. Well done. Is there any way you could build in a "get verified" part of the site like PayPal has? If people have "verified ID" on their profile we know they can pretty much be trusted (provided name, address and land line, which will never be given out in the public domain and stored on secure server) - it would only be optional though like PayPal (you pay say £1 and a letter gets sent to your home with a unique PIN and you put the PIN code into the forum to verify you are who you say you are). Then again, why let just 1 person ruin it for the rest of us? Just a thought...
