  1. I warned you about the amount of attention it gets. It's like driving a supercar - people take pictures when your driving along the motorway, the lot. It's a nice feeling when in or around the car, but for me, the problem was leaving it somewhere (a rare occurance). I hated the feeling of attracting the wrong attention, but over the 2 year period I owned MarzMans zed it got nothing but positive attention. I guess when you own a Ferrari people know what it is and occasionally raise the middle finger thinking you're a show off playboy with money - whereas although the zed is a flashy in your face type of car no one knows what it is and people take a genuine interest in it. I used to get motorbikes riding along side giving the thumbs up, people coming over when refueling asking questions, been chatted up by a random petrol attendant once (very odd), kids obviously take loads of pictures next to it, people crossing the road when I was cleaning it on a Sunday - the whole lot. I remember when I got stuck in traffic once by myself (grid lock). A lady in the car behind got out, walked over to my window and started asking me loads of questions in the middle of the road and thanked me for making her day with such a stunning zed to look at. This put a huge smile on my face, as you'd imagine. (no - didn't get her number; the girlfriend wouldn't have appreciated that). Oddly, it's mostly men that take notice. Women either don't really care about it, or as they pass pretend not to look. Enjoy it Chris - as I say, nothing bad happened even after my paranoia. So long as you don't park in any dodgy places I say lap it up.
  2. More pics if anyone is interested. http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/6151 ... rstone.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/nwvt/54045 ... 816365431/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nwvt/54047 ... 816365431/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nwvt/54047 ... 816365431/ viewtopic.php?f=11&t=35790
  3. Nice zed. hehe Enjoy it mate. Huge credit has to go to the guys at CS though - Mitz and Andy have also put their heart and soul into it. I just buy the parts - they have turned it into the machine it is today. Really really glad its staying in the club.
  4. Walk. 100%, just go to another job. Been in this situation before and as stated by other posters, best thing you could do by a long shot. He doesn't own you or anything related to you so he can shove the "I own your house" comment up his ****. His name isn't on any legal papers, so this ego maniac can quite honestly do one. Sounds to me like he wasn't loved as a child and his mummy didn't pay enough attention to him back in the day. At the end of the day, its his company so he probably thinks he can do what ever he likes. The way I see it is you will never change people like this, even if you and your colleagues put your point across. Sure things may calm down a little for a week or two, but from experience this plonker will fall back into being himself again (aka: a ****). You only live once, so why live in missery for gods sake. I know its easier said than done, but just go get another job man! Sure it's not gonna be easy but in three months time you could be thinking to yourself "you know what, I could be in a job I enjoy if I decided to walk" - instead you'll be going into work each day dreading it. There is nothing worse. Try speaking to your colleagues about him and see what they think. You'll get an indication on what others think too - they all no doubt feel the same and its their job to look elsewhere too. You don't run a company by putting fear into people, you do it by getting the best out of others hence your product/services will be superior to your competitors.
  5. They compare them because one of Nissans direct competitors is Audi. The zeds equivilent being the TT. In the past few years, Fifth Gear and Top Gear are both guilty of focusing too much on one thing - how fast cars are against eachother on a track. To me its a pointless test since in the real world there are too many variables (even on track). Unless the car is obviously much much faster (at least a second) then why focus on the speed (we're not playing top trumps when driving are we?). I can live with being half a second slower - we don't have an F1 car and doesn't make any real noticeable difference. I'd still rather have a zed than a TTRS. Better value all round and then if you really wanted to fork out TTRS price then they'll be better cars (IMO) to buy in this price bracket as well (such as a 18 month old GTR, brand new Exige, 2nd hand GT3 - the list keeps going).

  7. Nope. But you just missed me - just came back from MK (didn't see any other zeds, other than a blade and gave the thumbs up)
  8. Very nice. If you get Nismo side skirts it'll make your car look more aggresive and looks lower (when it isn't). GTS' are pretty hard to keep clean - trust me. On the other hand you get people sparking up a conversation about them all the time. I find on mine that the rubber washer on around the valve isn't very strong (too flimsy), so if you're tyres start to get a little flat check the rubber washer first - chances are it did the same as mine (the rubber is too weak so under pressure and movement on it eventually slips the washer out of shape releasing air). You can replace them if need be by any other typical washer though - just make sure it is harder compound. I put rim wax on mine, which helps a little with the brake dust but to be honest I rarely go out in bad conditions. Try and keep clear of road salt - if you get some on them then make sure you wash it off when you return home and you'll be fine (also avoid roads with stone chippings - they ping about in rim and create small light scratches even at low speed). At the end of the day, they're wheels and designed to be used like any other. They just take 10x more effort than most to keep in tip top condition.
