  1. I have to point out to anyone who is looking to buy a zed that it's and almost certain safe buy to get it from someone on this forum. People here really know their stuff and look after the cars so well - I highly recommend checking the for sale section every so often - you can't go wrong. I advise to be patient (I waited around 4-5 months to get this one!) and the right car really will come along. Good things come to those who wait as they say.
  2. Hey guys, You've probably all heard from me before as I posted months ago about saving long and hard for my dream zed. Well, after over a solid year of constant saving I finally forfilled a dream - I brought NismoDave's zed off him and it is . Words cannot describe this car - it has such a serious presence on the road and every other person stops to look at it; it's truely amazing and will be cherished for a LONG time. Adults and children alike give the thumbs up as I drive along with a big grin on my face. . My little brother (8 years old) had such a huge smile on his face and I can't wait to pick him up from school in it one day - the smile on his face alone was worth it. NismoDave - your a top bloke and it was a total pleasure meeting you and would happily meet up with you for a cruise at a later date when you get your next car. Any who - enough about the chin wagging - on to the pics... My two lovely girls. I have big plans for this car. I've already got some brand new 19" Volk GTS alloys with Goodyear F1's ready and waiting to go on. I've changed the rears to LEDs already and I'm going to get a Nismo exhaust and RSW interior too. I may also get a pop charger as well, I shall see how it goes. I've promised NismoDave to keep it in pristine condition (it will - already driving my girlfriend mad by cleaning it 3 times this week alone!). It's safe to say it's gone to a very good home. This zed is already stunning so I don't want to do anything too drastic to it - it's close to spot on perfect in my eyes (the quality is second to none - like brand new!). Thanks for reading - looking forward to future meets.
  3. Thought I would share: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 3117124081 I still don't like the 370z that much. It looks a little stumpy...
  4. Hey folks, I just got told by my brother (so god knows if this is true), that many garages refuse to fit tyres if I get them from the internet on my alloys because of something to do with their insurance policies. Is this true? They're very good quality tyres (Goodyear F1's). Loads of you guys buy good quality tyres from places like blackcircles and get them fitted. Do you get any hassle? I would of thought handing over £40-£50 for a 20 min job, loads of garages wouldn't say no (I wouldn't).
  5. Yes. Or if you import a JDM after this date.
  6. I just brought my stubby aerial today from: http://www.mazda3forums.com/enigma/antenna.html (£15 inc delivery to UK). Torneau covers made by user here (pbannistuk) :http://www.requestonline.co.uk/350zTonneaus (£45 inc delivery in UK)
  7. I have to agree on what everyone else has said so far. I've been hanging around for months waiting for the perfect zed and the prices have gone down slightly, however its not as steep as you may think (it's not worth the wait - if your going to be like that, you may as well wait another 3 years so an even more significant saving). The general consesus seems to be that people here love their zeds and the 370z doesn't have that major "I must have it" feeling yet for most (the cars are too similar to warrant coughing up another £10k + and giving up your pride and joy in the middle of a recession). I have no doubt in my mind that in 2-3 years it will be a different story, but for the next few months things probably won't change much. Remember - a 350z ISN'T an investment. It's a toy - so enjoy it!
  8. Pretty much - I would budget £17k for the car (it'll probably be a late 06 - 07 car for a very good one) and then have around £3-3.5k for all the kit and exhaust if you want a rough target. I've researched beyond belief about zeds and the general consensus if it's not the year that really matters its the quality of them that counts. The engine sizes make a tiny bit of difference (although not justifiable to spent extra thousands on if you don't already have it). The main different is the 06+ reg face lift that has some minor changes (detailed in the FAQ section). Again, its all about quality with zeds rather than "who has the biggest and fastest engine". There isn't much you can do with them in terms of power gains unless you have a lot of dough if your modding. Its a car from the theatre that suits it purpose - a great cruiser that can switch to sporty mode with your right foot with an even better noise!
  9. There are very good quality replica Nismo V1 kits available by Shine Auto - I think the full kit (rear wing, rear spats, side skirts and front bumper) cost around the £1k mark (if you wanted genuine Nismo goods, it would probably be almost double this and I am unsure if they still do them) The shine auto parts are pretty much exactly the same fitting and style as the Nismo, except the material is different (some say its better since its slightly more felixible). Then you're probably looking at around £900 for fitting and painting on top. TBH - You probably won't know the difference between the Nismo and Shine versions and a few people have them on from this forum and seem to have no problems. The Nismo exhaust was around £800, but thanks to the credit crunch this is now around £1400 due to the rate of the Yen (it doubt very much it'll return back to the more realistic price for a good time yet unfortunately). There are a few traders on here than can give you exact quotes, but this is what I have been quoted recently. Hope this helps.
  10. Hey guys, I just need to check that the following tyre sizes are correct for the alloys I have: 245/35/19 & 275/35/19 volk gts charcoal grey polished lip 19" 9 1/2 (+17) 5 x 114.3 fronts 19" 10 1/2 (+18) 5 x 114.3 rears I'm thinking about going with the Toyo TR1's. Although would I be better off with the Goodyear Eagle F1's?
  11. Nope. Although I know what your on about. When I was a kid I used to be transfixed with Ancient Egypt, hence I use this username for a lot of places. Do you eat a lot of sandwiches Sarnie?
  12. Hi, Quick question; If I add a second person to my insurance as an additional driver and one of us had an accident, how does this affect the other person? I don't want to add someone else if the other person suffers for the otherone's incidents. Obviously the person who had the accident has to state they've made a claim, but what happens to the other person? For example, if I add my brother and I had a crash I lose my NCB and have to keep stating I had a crash for future quotes. But what happens to my brother? I presume he wouldn't have to say anything since he wasn't involved. * This isn't because I've crashed - I just want to be safe in the knowledge that I am not going to inadvertantly screw someone else over and vice versa.
  13. Love the show! Reminds me of my teens so much. If any of you missed episodes (even in season 1), you can watch them on the Channel 4 player thing (like BBC iPlayer). The season 1 DVD is out now and season 2 is coming out in May I think
  14. Ring head office, send them the pictures and explain that paintwork should not be falling off a 1.5 year old car you got from a Nissan dealer. Lets face it - you put around £18k+ in their pocket and if the big multinational cannot spend a couple of hundred to get it fixed then this is nothing but an appauling service and customer neglect. I think most cars have 5 years body work warranty don't they (i.e. garuantee of no rust)? Read your small print in the manuals and you may have a clause which would work in your favour. Personally, I'd be knocking at head office doors asking to speak to management. Whether it is a Skoda or a Ferrari, a car at that age shouldn't have those type of issues. Fact.
  15. Prepare to be shocked - the last time I got a quote it was around £1350. This is due to the Yen to GBP rate collapsing due to the crunch. The last time I checked (because I am also hankering for one), it was cheaper to import one from the US via freight (around £1000 incl delivery) - but you have to pay duty on it when it arrives (so all swings and roundabouts I guess).
  16. It sounds like the car is choking on the crud at the bottom of the tank (you know when the car is spluttering all over the place in an old banger type). I wouldn't get too bothered by it if it's a one off. If it happens again, book it into Nissan dealer straight away on warranty and get it fixed. Your in a better situation that without any warranty.
  17. I have to agree - I'm not too concerned over the security of the car. You'd have to be either a total idiot or pro to steal a car in a packed car park. I'm just concerned about popping to the local super market or parking up in the local shopping center for a few hours and coming back to find Mrs Gladis decided to swing her door open and drive off without a care in the world. I see a fair few zeds and tons of other stunning cars like modded Evo's, Scoobs even the odd Ferrari or two - but rarely ever see them parked up (lets face it, sooner or later your going to have to park it other than back at home).
  18. Bit of a strange question, but after splashing out on your pride and joy like I am about to I am already fearing car parks. The question is; what do you guys do in terms of parking? I hate the scumbags who get a 10 second thrill of keying because of jealousy (god knows why people do this - if only they knew how much work and effort goes into these cars), and also what do you do about the old biddy and kids who swings the doors open wacking your lovely shiney car to pieces? I've rarely seen any type of stunning car in car parks and because of the above there are good reasons why. However, you guys go out in your cars, many who use them as daily drives - do you get any issues because it is a real sports car that pretty much stands out of the crowd (esp when modded)? Just wondered because this will be my only car - and at times I will have no choice but to park up in a local shopping center car park praying no one does anything to it...
  19. Also like to say a BIG thanks to Limiter for a previous purchase (Volk GTS alloys). Top man - you can't go wrong and is a total safe buy.
  20. Thanks guys - I'd glad it doesn't have it. Just another pointless thing to go wrong and something else to pay out on.
  21. Hi guys, I read somewhere that the zed has a tyre pressure system strapped on to the alloy to show the tyre pressure reading in the car - is this correct? If this is so, as with many other sports cars, what do you do when you swap over alloys? I want to keep the original Rays for the winter but have my new Volk alloys for the summer (too good to be swimming in crud for 6+ months of our lovely English year). Do you bother putting new pressure gauges on to the new alloys as well or don't you bother (its not worth it)?
  22. Brilliant - thanks! I'm just waiting for him to reply - feels like Christmas. I can do nothing more than wait for a response (I'm after the alloys btw, not the seats). Can't wait!
  23. I am trying to snap them up! Mate - check your email. Thanks. Does anyone know if these need spacers or are they just a simple fitment? Normal 350z with Nismo kit btw - no need to get these pushed out further than they need to be.
