Hello Everyone!

Recommended Posts

Hi All.

Sadly not an owner of a 350Z currently but I've been a long time admirer and have a couple of friends with them.

I had a Dyno day yesterday and my current car was a little bit lower than I hoped and it made me realise how much I missed petrol performance, sound and refinement.

Thought I'd sign up on the forums to get a lay of the land, see what common modifications are, recommended improvements and what I should be looking for in a good 350Z!

Hope I'm welcome even thought I'm not (Yet) an owner!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Gotta be sneaky sneaky as I'm in work at the moment.

Car history:

1.2 Ibiza SX

1.9 Ibiza Sportrider 100bhp remapped to 150bhp

https://plus.google....partnerid=gplp0

1.8T Ibiza Cupra (Loved this car) "253bhp" on the dyno lottery

https://plus.google....partnerid=gplp0

1.8T Leon Cupra R "280+ on the dyno lottery

And now...

2.0 TDI Seat Leon FR 220bhp on the dyno lottery :(

The move to diesel is boring me and I mean REALLY boring me... and even though I'm doing alot of miles I might get a really crappy old car to do the miles in and buy the 350Z for everything else!

I had a leon 2 cars ago, night and day, just look into the running costs and be sure you will be happy with it. Also 2 seats can be a pain in the ar$e sometimes so bare that in mind :teeth:

Hi

Thanks for the reply, What do you mean by night and day?

The difference between the two fun wise?

2 seats are not too much of a problem, The mrs has a car, The dogs go in there... and I have about 3 friends. So I think we'll be okay!

the 350z is better in everyway bar running costs and practicality, if you can handle both them then you will be more than happy :teeth:

The best thing is when they phone you at 3 in the morning asking for a lift home from town and you say,,, 2 seats, can't ,,bed time :)

Assume you have been out in the Zed with your friends, have you driven one? Your car history shows hot hatches a few with decent modified power, the 'drive' of a Zed is much different in its lazy torquey delivery, its not by any means a sprinter off the lights, but once it gets moving you have plenty to enjoy.

I'll be honest, I've not been a passenger nor driver of a 350Z yet.

I've booked in for a test drive this weekend but I've had one chase me round the track, User might be a member on here, generally goes by the name of Jables who I believe was running a supercharged 350z last time I checked.

I've sat in one on a Dyno but thats about it!

Travelling costs might be an issue, I'm doing 80 miles at the moment (Per Day) I'd be interested to know what a Z does @ 60mpg mpg wise.

Ideally I'm wanting the Mrs to take the Leon off my hands and let me have the Z. She only works 3 days a week normally weekends which means Monday to thursday I drive the Diesel and on the friday I drive the Z!

hello

my opinion is:

sell the diesel daily car leon and buy some crap diesel like a peugeut 106 and give your garage something hot like a Z.

Be carful because the Z carries the Zdisease.

I did it and i´m loving it. i have sell my BMW330d and bought my Z

Welcome aboard CJRamze. :welcome: From your car history you've never had anything other than Seat's before. That's pretty unusual. I had a Seat Ibiza 1.5SXI "systeme Porsche tuned" as my second car when I was young. Loved it a lot right up until I rolled it down a hill & killed it in spectacular fashion. Good luck with your Zed hunt and I'm sure you'll be very pleased with it if you get one. Just to add my mpg is terrible but I drive mainly short journeys around town, ..seen people getting 30-40mpg though on motorway runs averaging around 60mph.
