delz0r Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I saw this cool product on a detailing website, I thought I'd share my experience of it here. I bought the Gtechniq - Glass Sealant Kit, it comes with the following.... 1. G4 Nano Glass Polish 2. G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass 3. G2 Residue Remover Very easy to apply: 1. Deep clean all the windows using G4 Polish 2. Apply the G1 to the window 3. Allow to cure for 15 minutes 3. Remove using the G2 Residue Remover 4. Apply 3 coats of G1 to the windscreen The G1 and G2 comes in a 15ML bottle and is enough for all the windows on the Zed with 3 coats on the windscreen. Here's a small before and after video: I was driving on the motorway last night and I barely needed to turn on the wipers even in heavy rain. This would be ideal for anyone with the rear wiper delete mod. 1 Quote
Stutopia Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Looks cool. I've been using rainx, which works well, but I'd say from the vid that's even better. Informative stuff. Quote
spursmaddave Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Looks good, to be honest I never had a problem after deleting the rear wiper, the back window is such a slope that it was always clear... Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk by any chance? Quote
Ewan27 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Look good, even more impressed with the video though, top work! Quote
Jp606 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Use RainX here, really impressive stuff. I can't help but laugh when I wash my car, the wax on the bodywork and RainX on glass just makes the water run straight off the car! Quote
coldel Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I love all the gtechnique stuff its pricey but very good - i used to use the wheel sealant. Quote
The G Man Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 RainX is all right to a degree, until you have to use the wipers in anger, might give this stuff a go though Quote
delz0r Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 A quick update on this.... I've had it on the windscreen for nearly 3000 miles now. I've also washed the car at least once a week since applying it in early August. It's still working as good as the day I applied it, I was able to drive down the motorway in the lashing rain this morning without the wipers on! Usually I find these sort of products are gimmicks and last a few weeks but this stuff is the real deal. 1 Quote
Jp606 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Looks good, think I'm going to switch to this from RainX as it's starting to leave some sort of smear marks which seem to be impossible to remove. Think the only option to remove it is with some IPA. Quote
M13KYF Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 also use rainx but your results do look good Quote
GMballistic Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Looks really good. I've never used anything like that before but am tempted after watching the video of the results & your 3000mile test. How much roughly are we talking for a kit delz0r? Quote
Zedman Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 That's quite impressive and pleasantly surprised with the price. Think I will get some! Quote
Bems Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Amazon do the 100ml version for £32.95 with free delivery so works out more cost effective than the 15ml price quoted above Quote

downhuman Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I've just ordered some Autobrite Hellshine GhostRider - will be interesting to see how this compares to the G1 or G5 classics Quote
GMballistic Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Got my G1 kit the other day from eBay. Just waiting for the weekend now and a dry day to apply it. Has ironically been raining here in Wales all week. 1 Quote
