Ian Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I managed to strike a deal on this car over the weekend & paid for it Monday night. Should have it with me by the end of next week Its a 1997 Series 3 R33 GTR. Has done 52K miles & is a UK supplied car by Middlehurst Motorsports. It does need a bit (lot) of work doing to it, but it was cheap enough to make it worth while. As you can see it needs an engine, gearbox, headlights, front seats, front brakes & a decent set of wheels Have no idea what the plan is for it at the moment. Will either be a track toy or a well sorted road car, it will depend entirely on how good the bodywork is up close before I decide for certain. No time scale for it to be finished, it'll be done when I'm done Its also a pretty famous car, It used to belong to a guy by the name of "Rocket Ronnie" & he won the first 3 TOTB events in this car Quote
rtbiscuit Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 lol nice find, i like project cars; its what mine is as for the R33 one previous lady only, well cared for , never raced, looks to be a good base for a project though Quote
Flex Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Back in the room!! Boom, nice one. I might buy it off you when it's finished Quote
DoogyRev Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Nice Ian, looking forward to seeing the progress Would make a nice road car IMO, and prob worth more when you've finished Quote
Ian Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Nice Ian, looking forward to seeing the progress Would make a nice road car IMO, and prob worth more when you've finished I'm leaning more towards a road car TBH, with my work schedule I won't get as much use out of it as a track car as I would a road car. Either way, I'll annoy some people on the GTROC with what I do Quote
Ebized Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Better add a diff to the list seeing those vids Quote
ioneabee Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 No wonder its got no engine !! (i don't think I would have wanted it if it was still in there) Quote

Mark@Abbey m/s Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Ian, when was the pictures taken of Ron's car? Is it still in the same workshop as when the pictures where taken? Quote
Ian Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 I'm not sure Mark. They were taken by the guy selling it so I guess its the work shop in Ireland where the car is kept Quote
