Zyngazite Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I dunno if this is in the correct place but I seem to have a button missing next to my headlight washer button? any ideas on what it could be for? and how easy is it to put a new one in? Regards Quote
KC350Z Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Put a picture up of where you mean and sure someone will help my car dont have any so couldnt tell ya Quote
ATTAK Z Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 You'll probably find the missing button inside the dash panelling ... it was a common problem that these used to be easily pushed past their seating on early models ... I think Nissan fixed it on later models ETA probably the VDC Quote
Daryl Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Thats the TC off button thats missing. Petrol cap release is further down. Quote
Zyngazite Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 how can I get it out and fix or replace? is it possible? Quote
ATTAK Z Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 how can I get it out and fix or replace? is it possible? yes it's very simple ... but why would you want to switch off TC ? Quote
Ekona Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 how can I get it out and fix or replace? is it possible? yes it's very simple ... but why would you want to switch off TC ? Why would you not want the option? Quote
Zyngazite Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 Its for cosmetics, dont like a hole in my dash Quote
choptop Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Let's hope the button was not depressed before it ended up in the dash..........................................no TC Quote
JackStrong Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Was your car driven my Richard Hammond on top gear?! When he pressed the button it went straight through, so guess it could be still there behind the dash Quote
glrnet Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 If you turn it off it auto switches back on after ignition is turned off and turned on again The TC is on lol luckily Quote
Zyngazite Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 So how do I get it out of the dash? or get a new button Quote
Bakes100 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 TC switches on everytime you start the car anyway, think thats pretty standard on all modern cars Quote
Zyngazite Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 is it possible to remove the panel that this is seated in as the button is lost inside the dash :/ ? Quote
rtbiscuit Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 you should be able to fish round the back of the panel and find the button, it should reclip back in to the hole if you can;t fish round with a finger you can remove the dash section and do it that way. Quote
Stew Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 As Rich says, fishing around is possible. Get yourself comfy and fish around behind the dash. Just get access from underneath. Quote
Ricey Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Is that definitely a complete mechanism just missing the cap? Is the tc switching on and off if you poke the bit inside? May be a whole new switch you need Quote
doctor austin Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Erm some of you guys talk like the cars not driveable with the traction control off... there is that other control under your right foot...it controls the power/ drive to the rear wheels you know!! Quote
