Hiya folks,

Me n the zed have just been involved in accident in all the rain... I'm alright bar the seething desire to pummel the **** who cut me up

But the lady didn't fair so well.. Yeah I was probably going a little too fast coming upto a roundabout, a dickhead came up the inside of me an cut across right at the last min.. Jammed the anchors on and glide I went.. Bosch jointly angle into the island.. Smashed bumper, lost the wheel arch fascia and the steering wheel now points at 10 o'clock to go straight,

The tit never even stopped, my alloys are creamed, 2 brand spanking tyres are fubar and most frightening is the fact I can't go over 45 mph now without the hole car shaking so bad I get vibration white body... She's so poorly

Help, anyone please..Ideas on probably diagnoses and good Nissan specialists in Nottingham area.. I can't drive to far..

Sorry to hear of your mishap Phil.

Best to get the car up on a ramp to assess the true damage mate.

The steering and suspension have obviously taken a hit resulting in the steering wheel being off centre.

Once on the ramp you will soon see what is pushed back or bent.

If you are planning on the insurance route then fine, however if you are considering fixing yourself then I should have most parts in stock either new or preowned, but the first step is to get the car professionally inspected unless you have the experience to check it out yourself.

Good luck Phil and I hope it is not to serious or expensive mate.

Alex :)

Hiya Alex

Thanks for that, my tinkering skills pretty much end at swapping a wiper blade with cars!

But cheers for that

Insurance route can only be the way I think, just looked and the bottom is pushed up on drivers side so something has bent quite badly

a body shop will normally check it out for free, if you can get it to a local shop they can quote you for the qork to give you an idea of the damage. if the damage is minimal you might get away with some 2nd hand parts and a garage doing the work. all depends on how much damage there is, and what your excess is.

Hiya Folks

First off gotta give ya all a  for all the well wishes.. Its much apprieciated :)

Bit of an update, spoke with the insurance company yesterday.. All was gravy, couldnt believe how easy it was.. "we'll have it picked up monday, courtesy car delivered." Happy days right?

Wrong, Long story short. I never viewed the car, i got the RAC to do it as it was in scotland. Long way to go to find out if i didnt like it.

Not once was JDm mentioned, rang insurance about swapping, gave reg plate.. "yep thats english according to the database not JDM, but even if it was we'd still insure...

Phone call this morning.. We regret to tell you you arent insured as we dont cover JDM..

WHAT

Many a heated conversation and replaying of original phone conversations and quoations.. " right we've had to take a seperate policy on your car as we dont do JDM but we have sold you insure and we're in the wrong to have. So we have to honour it..

I have never felt so :yuck:

That must have been a scary moment!

So are you saying that your car (the damaged one) was a JDM model and the insurance had it down as a UK model so refused to pay out on the insurance claim?

Glad it is all sorted now, just goes to show you can't be too careful when it comes to insurance.

Sorry to hear about your car mate and glad your ok, hope you get fair money from the insurance company. Did anyone recommed any garages in Notts for the Z? As I would be interested in hearing where people recommend, got a fair few bits I want doing to mine.

not quite getting that last bit - so have they covered you ?

After much wrangling and ' i need to speak to my manager' replies.. They have reluctantly agreed to cover me as all the previous correspondence falls in my favour and the error was there's...

Never take insurance with a company who offers multi car insurance and has a sea captain for a name.... :bang:

Pretty much Chris, im assuming the database they had was incorrect with reg no and dvla record. I started the claim, and thats when it flagged the inconsistancy... My butt hole twitched saturday but christ i coulda turned inside while they left me stewing all day while they probably tried to work ever angle to weasle out

Glad everyone involved was alright. Sounds like your had a nightmare with the insurance. I had a heated discussion with the same company,as the first correspondence with them they said Nissan 350z etc etc. Rang the next day to confirm the quote, all good. Paperwork arrives a few days later, with Car- Vauxhall Agila 1.2. I had to fight with them to change it at no cost to me,despite the fact that it was their screw up to start with. Luckily i could quote dates and times of people id spoke to,and eventually justice was served.

Hope all goes well with getting the car sorted.

Jeez mate, that's an awful story, that just gets worse, but I hope all gets sorted in your favour. Good move on maintaining a record of who you spoke to and when.

Really hope everything works out as you hope. Keep us posted and as others have said, at least you're ok and no one got hurt.
