What car for £50k budget

If sportiness isn't a requirement, then you really won't do better than a Merc S-Class. I can't stand Mercs myself in any shape or form (unless they've got an SLS badge on the back), but for wafting comfort you'll struggle to do better.

The GTR doesn't have 4 doors, although it does have 4 seats it wouldn't be the most comfortable and luxurious for the older generation? Especially if you're trying to hit some decent lateral G's!!

4 doors was stated as optional :bangin: but then I did qualify the suggestion anyway about dress mode

If I wanted the option of a speed and luxury, I'd go for this nice example on Autotrader.

:drive1

I don't care if it was Jody Scheckter's car that lime green interior is :yuck:

As I have never owner a 'prestige' marque car I would be happy with most of the suggestions

Why not a Range Rover Sport, easy for the oldies to get in and out of, lots of road presence and go like stink too, also benefit of being able to drive it whatever the weather and pretty much whatever the conditions

Chevy camaro for a wild card entry

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

Ford focus RS500

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

lexus IS F ( i quiet like it)

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

the lexus was the only one that really floated my boat, i;'m not a ford fan, but it was within the budget. the chevy could possibly sway me, but i've never been a yank tank man.

Is there something you arn't telling us ?
Jaguar XF

OK I'll sign off......................... :blush::blush:

Nah - just thinking ahead, and looking at options for moving on - probably not for a few months yet though.

Some of the suggestions I hadnt even thought of, but are very interesting - the IS-F looks to be great, but probably no real need for the 5.0 V8  maybe all the same toys in a lower engine.

The new RR Sport is nice inside too, but its JLR, so unfortunately its ruled out for me as Im not giving that company another penny, ever.

Four adults in a GT-R wouldn't work.

Some really interesting suggestions. :)

Since you mentioned optional 4 seater :p

Corvette Z06

4 Seater, at a pinch:

Roush trakpak 427r

However, if it's 4 seater and comfort you're after, maybe this:

VXR8 Bathurst

Or this for its fantastic v10 (Ones with less miles are nearer 50k):

Audi S8

And it's not real.....

I'm a big Lexus fan and I love the ISF!

Chris, you have an F430 so I will take the mega sporty stuff out and say

S Class - I drive my old mans occasionally and it's absolutely brilliant!

CL - S class but with 2 doors and quite rare

Lexus LS - Hybrid too so 'eco' credentials!

I'll leave the jeeps out but I can see yo in a big luxo jeep if I'm honest.

why debadge? lexus is a quality car, and it would wizz all over jag when it comes to reliability as its a toyota at heart. i actually prefer it over the Beemer, and people won't think your a sausage jockey

I meant debadge the beamer  Nowt against them though my Dad's had a few and the current 535D he has in a fickin' demon (but then he's 72 not 32 Chris!) is now a bad time to admit I did consider the 320D, the Z4 and M3s when I was shopping last year?
