A great loss to guitar music, pushed many a boundary back when it was a huge risk to do so.

He was the godfather of rock and roll in my book. Absolute legend.

And he was black, back in a time when it wasn't cool to be so. That should never be underestimated, especially in institutionalised racist America.

Looked back to some of the black and white footage audiences were all white....this guy helped knock down racial boundaries too; people often underestimate how much good this guy did.....RIP Chuck Berry

That's a good point. He wrote and sang some real classics but they are all well over 50 years old and some over 60 years. You would have to be in your 70's to remember his most prolific period.
