JetSet Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Very sad news. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38427459 Pete Quote
GMballistic Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 That's not good news to hear. Status Quo were the first group I ever listened to as my mother was a big fan so as a child I used to listen to my mothers tapes of them all the time. Happy memories of listening to "12 Gold Bars" and other albums as we went on holidays. RIP Rick. Quote
garygranite Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 so many people left us this year very sad, my gran was one yesterday Quote

Firkindolloper Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Sorry to hear that Gary. As for Rick, that too is a shame although he did push the boundaries a bit.. I saw Quo on 9 Dec and they were great but they did miss him in the line up. Quote
nissanjuke Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I grew up listening to the quo,and they always came to glasgow every november, and they always but on a great show for everybody, sad we have lost a lot of good people this year. Quote
d95gas Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Grew listening to Quo and loved every minute of it, this is a very sad loss, feel for his family, more so at this time of the year. R.I.P Rick Quote
Ekona Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Legend. Massively under appreciated by the younger generation I suspect, but forever a guitar god with an impeccable sense of timing and knack for a hook. 1 Quote

Saw the Quo this week in Glasgow and although musically good I did miss Rick, its not Quo without him, however didn't expect this to happen. The older you get the more of your musical icons you seem to lose,2016 has been bad í ½í¸¢ 1 Quote

StevoD Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 (edited) Had the pleasure of seeing him with quo twice last year, and sent my parents to see the last show of the last nights of the electrics tour yesterday as my dad is a massive fan, for him to get back from Liverpool today and give him the news was a bit heartbreaking Edited December 25, 2016 by StevoD Quote
Zeezeebaba Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 That's a shame. Wasn't it Rick who suffered from RSI after playing the same four chords over and over again? Quote
