Hi all!

This is my first post, been looking around the forum for a while but thought it'd be good to create an account as well.

I've been looking for a 350z coupe for a while now, but not found the perfect one for me yet. I'm from the Netherlands, but since they don't have a decent forum or online platform I ended up here!

Not sure which year 350z to go for yet, I'm leaning towards as new as I can get with as low mileage as possible but I'm going to have a look at a a 07-2005 one with 82500 miles on it (asking price 9000 GBP) and a 06-2006 one with only 17400 miles on it (price 11900 GBP) next week. (mileage and price converted from kilometers and euros)

The 350z is going to be a second/summer car and I'm thinking of doing some minor performance upgrades if I can get a stock car.

Thanks,

Mike

Id say both are a little over-priced regardless of mileage. Good luck with the search, I viewed a fair few over the months prior to buying mine

Yes I have been looking at uk cars as well to compare prices (autotrader website) and they do seem to be a bit pricier here, but I suspect that's due to the fact the secondhand market for 350z's is a lot smaller in the Netherlands. At the moment there's only about 26 for sale via different websites..

As said though, it's going to be my second car, so I'm not in a hurry to buy one. But of course I'd prefer to get it as soon as possible!

I've added two links to the ads btw.

Welcome along mate, I wouldn't focus entirely on the mileage i would also check the service history as there is a major service around 54000 miles and check out if the clutch has been changed as these are known to go anywhere between 40k-80k.

But wish you the best of luck with your search :)

Thanks for that info, if I understand correctly that involves a regular service but also a spark plug change?

Clutch is of course one of the things that'll come up with a test drive, found the "Guide for new members/potential buyers" as well. Not too worried about clutches and brakes anyway, if they're worn it's a good way to get a lower price on the car and they're parts that wear anyway. Changed the clutch and brake discs/pads on my Seat Leon as well, these things just go.

I can't seem to find it anymore, but I think I read somewhere it is recommended to drain and replace all fluids anyway upon getting a used car?

I'm going to have a look at a 2004 model tomorrow which just passed 56k miles but according to the dealer it has always been maintained according to the proper service schedule. As the two cars I mentioned earlier it's a bit overpriced, wish I could just import one from the UK..

Thanks again for all the welcome messages!

Been to look at a pearlescent white 2008 350z today, car seemed to be in good condition, although rims were all pretty badly damaged and some heavy wear on the drivers door interior handle. Took photo's of the service history as it had been to the garage at every normal service mileage but it had skipped the 54.000 miles service by about 5.000 miles and was then traded in.

Going to send an email to the 350z specialist who's supposedly seen it the last time two years ago, but not too fond of the idea of buying a car that has done over 20.000 miles, skipped it's P3 service and then sold to an unknown dealer.

Random question, probably in the manual but only found a US one which only has a Service Engine light. When turning the ignition to on without actually starting the car and the Check Engine Light stays on does this indicate a fault or is this just a bulb test?

  • 3 years later...

Well, hello again!

Time to update this thread, four years ago I was looking for a 350Z, I found one, a lovely 2006 model with only 15.000 miles on it and drove that around for a good two and a half years and loved it!

Sadly had to sell it last year because I moved to Wales and now the itch is back. Was originally looking for an mx5 to do a V6 swap or an s2000 for its 9k rev limit but I don't fit in them..

We miss the convertible and now contemplating getting back in a 350Z or maybe trying a Z4 (older 3.0si model).

Couple of pics of the previous one!

Ah did it polish up well.. Good memories..

Already seen a couple of nice blue 2008 cars for sale but I understand they're in a higher tax bracket. Probably asked a million times before but is it worth the premium to go for the newer ones?

A bit rusty in my 350Z knowledge, I know there were some problems with oil consumption and the 'banana arms'?

I think I've got lots of reading to do!

Anyway, enough rambling, happy to be back!
