  1. Sadly I did not, I emigrated shortly after this happened and sold the 350Z. I have to say though that it did seem to only leak intermittently. Had it once real bad, a couple of times a little bit as seen in the picture. This was in September 2017 and I sold in March 2018 and after cleaning all the seals and realigning them it seemed to have stopped. In the end I think it originated from the seal of the roof to windscreen which had tiny cracks in it as can be seen in the pictures so I was planning to just get all the seals replaced. Hope you get it sorted! Edit : just seen you've got the same issue on a coupe, definitely not the roof to windscreen seal then!
  2. Yeah the road tax isn't great.. I pay 150 a year for my BMW but that does 40 mpg on the motorway if I try! @GranTurismoEraI bet they go quickly now in summer, best time to buy is end of the year I suppose. I bought my previous 350 in December! @Lee370Zhmm a Cerbera, nice! I think the roadsters aren't too bad looking, but only with the roof down! Roof up looks funny, but a lot of roadsters/convertibles look a bit out of place with the roof up..
  3. Ahhh I'd love a cooper green Chimaera but I'm not brave enough either altough my last three cars have been fairly high powered RWD cars.. More to do with the never ending question of will it start in the morning for a day out?? What was your experience? I'll save a search as well on autotrader with some specific wishes. Is it possible to 'watch' a thread on this forum? I'd like to get automatic updates on the zeds for sale thread if possible!
  4. @Umsterhaha yes I bet a lot of people on car forums do, at least I know some do on Clio and BMW forums;) I've got to admit I've not driven either a 370 or a boxster so I might not even properly fit in either of them. My reasoning is solely based on prices, mileage and cost of ownership. @ShortPaullooks ace but I'm looking for a roadster! @Lee370Zthat's what I think as well, but on the other hand if the car is worth it it's not so much of an issue. I expect the 370 prices to stabilise in the next couple of years as well and I think they'll always stay above the 350 prices. Where did you find yours? How are people's experiences with gumtree cars?
  5. Hmm I see a case for the 370Z but if only looking at autotrader there's only four manual roadster 370z's, one of which is nearing 100k miles, for around 12-14k. That brings is quite close to a Boxster and even in the cheapest boxster S territory. I don't mind the 350Z starting to show age either and a well maintained one shouldn't be too problematic in terms of maintenance. I'm not buy in it as a car to drive daily so annual mileage shouldnt be too high. I'll keep an eye out on the forum though as I suppose this is the best place to buy a car with known (sevice) history! Thanks for the input! Does help make me consider all options!
  6. Haha yes that's what I thought but it's still sort of valid! I've actually never considered the 370 as they were quite a bit more expensive four years ago and I personally think the shape of the rear of the 350 is prettier. That being said there seem to be a couple for sale for a reasonable price so might take one for a drive to try it out! My first thought was a HR but I'm not sure if the newer engine and slightly higher revs are worth the insurance and tax premium. Will see if I can drive a HR and DE model back to back.
  7. Thanks! Ahh good to know, I'm 6'6 so that won't work then.. I guess another 350z it is then! Will have to try a Z4 soon. Altough with the roof down headroom isn't of much concern..
  8. Well, hello again! Time to update this thread, four years ago I was looking for a 350Z, I found one, a lovely 2006 model with only 15.000 miles on it and drove that around for a good two and a half years and loved it! Sadly had to sell it last year because I moved to Wales and now the itch is back. Was originally looking for an mx5 to do a V6 swap or an s2000 for its 9k rev limit but I don't fit in them.. We miss the convertible and now contemplating getting back in a 350Z or maybe trying a Z4 (older 3.0si model). Couple of pics of the previous one! Ah did it polish up well.. Good memories.. Already seen a couple of nice blue 2008 cars for sale but I understand they're in a higher tax bracket. Probably asked a million times before but is it worth the premium to go for the newer ones? A bit rusty in my 350Z knowledge, I know there were some problems with oil consumption and the 'banana arms'? I think I've got lots of reading to do! Anyway, enough rambling, happy to be back!
  9. *EDIT* Ah just seen I've accidentally posted it under 'servicing'.. Can't seem to move this myself so if a mod sees this, please move to the appropriate place, sorry! Hi guys, I've got a little bit of a problem and I can't seem to find a solution. I can remember seeing something like a Nissan technical bulletin with a description of how to put some sort of black sealant in the rubber where the A pillar and the roof meet, but I can't find it anymore! My car never really leaked (and has been outside for the last two years) until I noticed water dripping in from under the plastic door strip while sitting in the parked car in heavy rain last week. Today I found a puddle of water in the footwell of the drivers/left side (LHD car) after heavy rainfall last night so it is definitely leaking! Seems that the water is coming in from where my finger is (or a bit higher up in the seal), then runs down on the inside of the seal until it meets the plastic inside door panel and then drips into the rubber door seal where it overflows into the interior of the car. It's a 2006 LHD 350Z Roadster, so it's leaking on the drivers side/left footwell of the car! I've tried searching the forums for similar topics on leaking roofs, but most searches for leaks get me oil leak problems (which I don't have, yet!) or pictures have been deleted or are not visible which makes it hard to figure out if it is actually the same point of the leak. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  10. Thanks again for all the welcome messages! Been to look at a pearlescent white 2008 350z today, car seemed to be in good condition, although rims were all pretty badly damaged and some heavy wear on the drivers door interior handle. Took photo's of the service history as it had been to the garage at every normal service mileage but it had skipped the 54.000 miles service by about 5.000 miles and was then traded in. Going to send an email to the 350z specialist who's supposedly seen it the last time two years ago, but not too fond of the idea of buying a car that has done over 20.000 miles, skipped it's P3 service and then sold to an unknown dealer. Random question, probably in the manual but only found a US one which only has a Service Engine light. When turning the ignition to on without actually starting the car and the Check Engine Light stays on does this indicate a fault or is this just a bulb test?
  11. Thanks for that info, if I understand correctly that involves a regular service but also a spark plug change? Clutch is of course one of the things that'll come up with a test drive, found the "Guide for new members/potential buyers" as well. Not too worried about clutches and brakes anyway, if they're worn it's a good way to get a lower price on the car and they're parts that wear anyway. Changed the clutch and brake discs/pads on my Seat Leon as well, these things just go. I can't seem to find it anymore, but I think I read somewhere it is recommended to drain and replace all fluids anyway upon getting a used car? I'm going to have a look at a 2004 model tomorrow which just passed 56k miles but according to the dealer it has always been maintained according to the proper service schedule. As the two cars I mentioned earlier it's a bit overpriced, wish I could just import one from the UK..
  12. Yes I have been looking at uk cars as well to compare prices (autotrader website) and they do seem to be a bit pricier here, but I suspect that's due to the fact the secondhand market for 350z's is a lot smaller in the Netherlands. At the moment there's only about 26 for sale via different websites.. As said though, it's going to be my second car, so I'm not in a hurry to buy one. But of course I'd prefer to get it as soon as possible! I've added two links to the ads btw.
  13. Hi all! This is my first post, been looking around the forum for a while but thought it'd be good to create an account as well. I've been looking for a 350z coupe for a while now, but not found the perfect one for me yet. I'm from the Netherlands, but since they don't have a decent forum or online platform I ended up here! Not sure which year 350z to go for yet, I'm leaning towards as new as I can get with as low mileage as possible but I'm going to have a look at a a 07-2005 one with 82500 miles on it (asking price 9000 GBP) and a 06-2006 one with only 17400 miles on it (price 11900 GBP) next week. (mileage and price converted from kilometers and euros) The 350z is going to be a second/summer car and I'm thinking of doing some minor performance upgrades if I can get a stock car. Thanks, Mike Links to both cars: 2005 2006
