I have found that you are quicker just partially taking the bumper off and removing the headlights which is about 1 hours work from start to finish.

Unfortunately a well documented common issue as WinkJ has stated. However these transportation blocks if not removed at PDI will effect the handling and I am very surprised that the alarm bells were not ringing regarding the poor handling that you must have been experiencing during your 2 years of ownership. Now that it is sorted, go and have some fun in your "new" car.

The Yanks get them from Nissan and then post up on line to share.

As has been said looks like the common HR CSC failure (Concentric Slave Cyl.) Time for a new clutch kit, CSC and Flywheel I am afraid.
