  1. Thanks for all the replies guys. I am with Adrian Flux and did argue the fact my experience with rear wheel drive cars was probably more than anyone sat in their office but to no avail. In my opinion its just an excuse to get more money out of me.20 years NCB doesnt count for anything it seems. I accrued the NCB with the capris and the supra!!! I find it an absolute insult that they question my proven driving experience and the fact that if I lost my licence I would lose my livelihood too should make me a very safe guy to insure . At the end of the day I could go out in a 1 litre fiesta and notch up a hundred traffic offences, kill a few pedestrians, and cause thousands of pounds of damage in a matter of minutes if I was a complete idiot. Its the same with the bikes. They only go faster if you open the throttle ,and forgive me if I'm wrong but they are rear wheel drive too!!
  2. I did the comparison sites and Performance direct quoted £350 . I thought I was sorted. When I told them I had the Z for only 2 months the underwriters stopped quoting.Same thing at Esure and Aviva. All wanted experience with the car.
  3. I tried all over mate .All the underwriters are banging on about experience as this is my first Z
  4. Hi guys Just insured my Z at a massive cost of £700. Apparently I need more driving experience. So as a 52 year old who's licence is his livelihood I am considered a huge risk . Lets look at the facts. Z is 2006 UK car standard apart from wheel spacers. Z is kept in an alarmed locked garage over night with cctv and flood lit drive I have 35 years driving experience I have no claims or convictions I also have full Motorbike licence I also have HGV Licence. I drive various large cranes for thousands of miles a year around the country. Past cars include Supra twin turbo ,2.8 capris,st200 and 24 to name but a few. These cars were driven in all weathers with no problems. Bikes include ,R1 ,GSXR1100, FZR1000,to name a few. capable of 170mph and only two wheels! Again no accidents. So can someone tell me how much more experience I actually need to drive the Z???? Maybe if NASA allowed me to take the Space Shuttle out for a blast that might lower the premium. F*****G Robbing B*******S!!!!
  5. Many Thanks for the info guys .First time I seen that on a car
  6. Hi guys Just put 25mm Eibach spacers all round on the Z and came across a 12 mm bolt with a metal sleeve around it on the front discs. Obviously I couldn't fit the front spacers with these in place so I removed them. I presume they are locators for the disc but they only screw about 5mm into the disc. Anyone enlighten me on these ?? Cheers Mark
  7. Hi guys Can anyone give me any ideas of a nice double din head unit ?I have a budget of around £200. It doesnt have to be all singing and dancing and turn the Z into a time machine  All I want from it is nice looks , decent sound and to plug a usb stick in the front with my music collection on it. Steering controls would be nice but not essential. Also one that I wont have to spend 3 days reading the manual in order to switch it on! I looked for hours and there are so many out there its silly. Many Thanks in advance Mark :teeth:
  8. Its probably just normal Stone chip. Problem with that is it breaks down over time and goes brittle.(I am talking Years) I prefer a layer of something a little more solid to protect the arches as the are very vulnerable. Will post pics when I do mine but will not be for a couple of weeks as I have to get a garage built to house the Z before I bring it home. Seems some idiots round here dont like anyone have a nice motor . Put my drivers window thru on my ST last week. Now got cctv up but garage must be up before the z gets bought here.
  9. Thanks for that Strudul The stance looks awesome.Love the arse end with the 30s on. If I may just offer you a bit of advice in return. I suggest getting some rubber edge protector for the inside edges of the wheel arches.Stones are gonna play havoc with them and no one wants the dreaded rust creeping in. This sort of stuff Add a small amount of silicon sealer to the inside at 6 inch intervals and smear vasaline in the gaps between the sealer. This will make sure the rubber holds in place and will keep water out.It should not be noticable when fitted and will keep them pesky stones from damaging the inner wheel arch lip. All the best Mark
  10. Hi Guys I guess this has been covered a zillion times but I cannot seem to find a definitive answer even after hours of trawling the forums. What is the best combo for my 2006 Z with standard rays? I know 20/25 seems to be popular and also 25/25 as well. I have no intention of lowering the car or changing wheels so what will look best and not cause any camber or other issues? Many Thanks in advance Mark
  11. Hi guys Thanks for adding me to the forums. Just got my first Z and love it . She is 2006,only 2 owners and completely standard. Not looking to add too much to her. Only wheel spacers, scorpion cat back and a nice stereo. Heres a pic of her All the best Mark
