  1. Good to see that Epsom have got their snow ploughs out nice and early this year
  2. I always drive at 75 on the speedo. It's a speed that ensures good progress, and you'll never get tugged or flashed for it. I don't understand people who drive at 80mph+ but slow down to a crawl when they see a copper: Have they not heard of unmarked cars, or mobile speed traps? Just do a speed you're happy to do if in plain sight of a traffic officer, makes for a much more relaxing drive.
  3. Quite possible, I know you said it in jest but it's a fair comment. It's true though, some people can drive and fiddle with the radio happily, some struggle just to stay in a straight line.
  4. I actually found that Nissan's numbers were pretty accurate, for a change. I believe they say 24mpg on the combined, which is what I got from a 50/50 split of motorway at 70mph and country lanes giving it the welly in 1st and 2nd. Most manufacturers these days give you numbers you'll never get close to.
  5. Some people are perfectly capable of operating a mobile phone safely whilst driving. However, we have to set the law for those that are not. I drove around for years using a mobile whilst driving, never had an accident once. Never came close either, mainly because I'm capable of doing more than one thing at a time.
  6. Undercar neons? Is it 1997 again?
  7. It's done the gene pool a favour, if nothing else.
  8. What's the betting those over 100mph were either on false plates, non-UK cars or diplomatic cars?
  9. Fairy muff.
  10. Why not just use NW?
  11. Read the very first paragraph Try Aussie imports. They drive on the same side of the road as us, and sometimes get US cars cars converted. Other than that, there's no-one I can recommend per se but there are still a few companies out there that do it. If these people can't source a vehicle, probably no-one can. They're based in my hometown, and is where my Dad got his Hummer from. They know their Yankee motahs.
  12. The replacement will only be as good as the fitter, so you could get lucky and get someone decent with NW or you could get a duffer. For the sake of ease, I'd just let whoever my insurer recommended do it.
  13. Assuming it's these people, all you need to do is log a formal notice that you dispute the charges. This is enough that it means no court order can be applied against you, until you've had a chance to represent yourself in court.
  14. Hi Not a bad price, but don't forget to include import duty and VAT if you haven't already. I'm sure the other traders on here can be just as competitive, give them a whirl.
  15. Or he likes his clutch, unlike TCN
  16. Oh good lord please no
  17. Just do it yourself, I did
  18. Contact the council, then contact the police.
  19. MPSS are worth every penny. I had another go in my mate's 911 at the weekend with them on, god they're brilliant and so confidence inspiring.
  20. IVe read these before, its what made me choose vred tyres. But it says vreds are mid range, potenza 040 are premium. Even though 040 have terrible reviews and majority of people are driving a ford mondeo, not quite the same. Although the link is good for getting general idea of wear and usability in rain Which is precisely why that site is rubbish. It's asking people who have no clue what they're talking about what they think about tyres, and usually when people spend more they justify it by saying what they bought was great. For what you're after, the VUS is perfect. Looks good, plenty of feel in the wet, well priced. I wouldn't consider anything lower on a 300bhp coupe, put it that way.
  21. Stick with the VUS if you're happy with them.
  22. For the record, I call all my aunties and uncles by their first names. I wouldn't dream of calling them auntie or uncle to their face.
  23. I felt like a king when I picked my brand-new Focus up at 21, only passed my test a month before hand!
