  1. IVe read these before, its what made me choose vred tyres. But it says vreds are mid range, potenza 040 are premium. Even though 040 have terrible reviews and majority of people are driving a ford mondeo, not quite the same. Although the link is good for getting general idea of wear and usability in rain Which is precisely why that site is rubbish. It's asking people who have no clue what they're talking about what they think about tyres, and usually when people spend more they justify it by saying what they bought was great. For what you're after, the VUS is perfect. Looks good, plenty of feel in the wet, well priced. I wouldn't consider anything lower on a 300bhp coupe, put it that way.
  2. Stick with the VUS if you're happy with them.
  3. For the record, I call all my aunties and uncles by their first names. I wouldn't dream of calling them auntie or uncle to their face.
  4. I felt like a king when I picked my brand-new Focus up at 21, only passed my test a month before hand!
  5. Weather held up, what Le Mans did you go to??!!
  6. Your other half is correct. My Dad's sister wasn't married when I was born, and I was an usher at her wedding when I was 16. Still makes her husband my uncle.
  7. Tracking is irrelevant if your car is creaking and groaning over every bump.
  8. Get a quote and find out? The parts are the cheap bit though, it's the actual engineering to make sure it doesn't creak and leak that's the problem. Also your car is going to flex like a mofo.
  9. If you fancy getting blown to bits, the targa top looks pretty good. You'll get an incredible amount of wind noise as well as end up freezing cold with a targa though. /VOE Easy enough to do if you want to. Cut roof, add rubber seals, add big clips front and rear, job's a carrot. Proper convertible is the way to go IMHO.
  10. Will you be using the Zed for business use at all? Other than commuting, I mean.
  11. My point was more that we already have a sub-forum for motorsport stuff where people could write all sorts of stuff for drifting, but no-one has. Bit hard to say there's a need for a sub-forum if there's nothing to put in it
  12. Unless it's a very wide space...
  13. You'll get it for less, but I doubt it'll be anything near sensible. I take it you've tried the Gocomparethesupermeerkat route? Which company came out best there?
  14. I normally crack one out. Sets me right up for the day ahead.
  15. Is this not exactly what this forum is for? All kinds of motorsport?
  16. Mine does the same, but you need to give it a couple of seconds or a couple of tries before it sorts itself out. Same with the pay by PP option, kicks you back then transfers you.
  17. It's no help, but I've had the same thing recently. Sometimes PDFs will open on one PC, but not another, or will open fine the first time but refuse to open at others. This is all on identical OS and up to date version of ARX. I gave up trying to solve it.
  18. Well reminded, not that I've touched May's box yet...
  19. Disc and pad change is a piece of cake, you needn't budget a fortune for it either. Zmanalex has some sensible and well-priced alternatives in his section. Depending on how much like was left in the brakes on the car you were looking at, they may need changing anyway. Could haggle the seller down on this and use the money saved towards the upgrade... Unless the specific car had a massive problem with the brakes, you'll probably find that most will feel very similar, but it's definitely a good idea to drive a few before hand anyway
  20. You're actually taking a step forwards Most modern cars are miles overservoed, which means you only have to brush the brake pedal and you end up through the windscreen. This is horrible, and whilst it initially makes you think the brakes are great, what it actually does is rob you of feel. The Zed's brakes aren't quite as sensitive, which means you need to press a bit harder to get the same reaction but it means you have far greater control over the braking system. Also allows for much better heel and toe control. Stopping distance is what matters, and with a simple pad, disc and fluid upgrade you'll find the 350Z is actually pretty good. Oh, and hi!

Welcome Have you driven one yet? You may find them a tad slow compared with a FRS, assuming you mean a mk2. They're not, but can feel like it compared with the turbo in the Ford.
  22. DVLA are closing most of their offices, so very soon you'll only be able to do it via post.
  23. If he'd been concentrating more he wouldn't have spun off there and would still be alive. That's a horrible thing to say, I know, but it's a fair a comment as the Armco one. Remove all the risk and it's no longer racing, might as well put them in front of a Playstation, Anyone else still up? I've had the odd hour nap in front of the sofa, but still going
  24. Motor racing is dangerous, you simply cannot remove all risk unfortunately. That's not trying to make light or excuses, simply the truth.
