  1. That's not what you said though, is it? You added a statement that gave no extra value to the conversation whatsoever. There's enough on here about mixed tyres for people to make up their own mind. It's not even me that brings it up any more, notice that? Mixed tyres won't kill you, they just make for a more unstable car. How you feel about running a performance car like that is up to the individual.
  2. Congrats. I also ran R888s in those sizes on mine and they were fine, but some people have run those sizes and have had issues, hence the reason I added my disclaimer.
  3. Ssshhh, you're making me want one again now! Brilliant cars, such stupendous fun, I was gutted when my brother sold his.
  4. Hmmm, it's an interesting one. I can't say that chasing other cars isn't something I've not done in the past, as on unfamiliar circuits or in an unfaimilar car it can help you work out the lines. That said, CrumbMC is spot on when he says you should always be looking ahead, and if that's through the car in front then so be it. I think I would say that it very much depends on the situation, and that it's fine to do as long as you don't come to rely on it.
  5. Just be aware that you may encounter some issues with the TCS systems, as some cars really don't like being run on anythjing other than 45 profile tyres. You may be okay, you may not. Personally I wouldn't risk it as there's plenty of decent tyres available in the correct sizes.
  6. Nice guys don't tend to risk other people's lives by driving like complete asshats on the road. As such, I'm comfortable to label him with the 'Not A Very Nice Guy' tag. No-one said they didn't feel sorry for the family and friends, as after all it's not their fault the guy was an absolute tool, but if you're giving me a choice between him dying and and someone else dying because of his driving then I'm celebrating the former every day of the week.
  7. Forget any ideas of 4WD, it'll be strictly FWD only. Don't forget Nismo isn't a performance brand any more, it's a styling brand, so don't expect fireworks but more something that looks good with decent mpg.
  8. Depends on which Avonas really, but they wouldn't be my first choice. However, if you're happy with them then stick with them, as that's what you know. Well no sh*t Sherlock, thanks for the input
  9. Match the fronts, or if you can replace all round with better. Depends on budget.
  10. Get in car. Start engine. Rev the nuts off the engine then dump the clutch. Do you end up in a cloud of tyre smoke, or does the car bog down and the light flash? See also: Go round tight corner and nail throttle. Do you spin, or does the car bog down and the light flash?
  11. Doesn't sound promising Fingers crossed for you mate, hopefully just a fuse.
  12. Do it as a trackday. BaT still have a few discounted spaces left for August.
  13. I still maintain that if you crack one off, the world seems a better place. Until you try and clean it off the curtains, of course. That can be a right pain. Allegedly. Glad to hear you're feeling better dude.
  14. Branding exercise, nothing more. I can't see any reason why Nismo, who have an incredibly successful and talented team of engineers working on many racing projects across various platforms including the current GT-R, would need mass involvement from Williams to put some go-faster bits on some otherwise uninspiring (Zed and GT-R excepted) road cars.
  15. I want to see the other smiling Aussie there, Daniel Ricciardo. He's deserving of a place, and I'd love to see him in a top-quality car.
  16. There's no justification for it. I can see why you'd struggle to base an argument on that. I accept your withdrawal.
  17. Best news ever! Webber & Porsche at LM24, it's going to be amazing.
  18. Thank god. Another one who's done the gene pool a favour. He wasn't even that good, just incredibly reckless.
