If you don't like the answers, then don't ask the questions. I watched enough to form an opinion I feel is valid. People moan that authorities don't understand the spirit and have any leeway, but are perfectly happy to use those strict wordings to their advantage when it suits them. It has everything to do with not paying your mortgage. No payee, no homee. Simple as that.

That would be the one thing that put me right off too, that mileage is far too low to be reliable. I'd say 5K per annum would be where you'd be best off looking for a 'low miles' example without any risk of still having bugbears and gremlins in the car.

Don't use a car cover unless the car is washed everytime before you put it on: You'll scratch the paint something horrendous. Inside a garage is always safer than outside. I wouldn't bother with any extra security, no real gain. I doubt that your mate is allowed to rent out the garage to a third party, so he's probably breaking his tenancy agreement.
