  1. No, you don't leave modern engines to warm up. You start them then you drive off immediately, but with mechanical sympathy so basically keep the revs to under 3k until the oil (not coolant) is warm. Then go nuts
  2. I think we all empathy for self-determination, I just query whether it's ultimately worth it if you end up worse off.
  3. But that's the old one
  4. He's wrong. No engine should ever be revved from cold.
  5. So you'd be happy with an independent Scotland with the Euro? I don't think I'd want to take the risk if the roles were reversed, but fair play for sticking to what you believe
  6. He could package up his hot air, that's for sure. I think the biggest issue with this referendum is that it went political. Too many people see Salmond as the face of Yes, and Call Me Dave as the face of No (despite Alistair "Eyebrows" Darling being the poster boy). It's not the SNP vs Cons, it's not Scottish Labour vs Regular Labour, it's simply one idea against another. Salmond won't be here forever, and the ConDem government will be here for an even shorter time. If people put aside their party affiliations and actually looked at the issues, we'd all be much better off in this debate. Oh, and anyone who mentions Braveheart should be slapped. It's the equivalent of Godwin's Law in this debate, it really is.
  7. Even more fun!
  8. I want one of these for my cats. That's be ace, a jumping spider!
  9. Greenergy produce Momentum, actually.
  10. At least he can't blame his slow interweb connection!
  11. It's quite apt, as well
  12. The closest refinery will supply them. Doesn't matter who owns it.
  13. Actually, I should clear up that the driver in that vid was an utter tool and deserves to have their licence removed permanently. My last post read more about me apportioning blame to the biker, which wasn't right.
  14. Any ideas what the driver was prosecuted for? I couldn't see in that article. Silly, silly biker. Not necessarily for the speeds he was doing, or even the location (although overtaking on hatched areas or where they're around is just asking for trouble), but why would you record yourself speeding? I don't get that at all. As far as most bikers round here, and I think I said this the other day, most of them are fine. I give space, they give me a leg wave (which I love!), and all is well. And then there's the pillocks who do 100mph on the dual carriageway, come flying up behind you and then split between you when you're passing another vehicle, just at the point when I'm about to indicate and move over for them they come flying up the inside. Utter morons. Filtering is fine, splitting at crazy speeds is not.
  15. Not sure I still see it as a problem. If you know you're right, then they're just going to look silly in court and 99% of them wouldn't take the risk.
  16. How many miles have you driven it in that time? Have you actually gotten any pleasure from the ownership experience in terms of driving, or is it just nice to look at?
  17. Cars should be driven, not kept in storage. Flog it and take the cash.
  18. It makes zero difference, really. As long as the fuel is to the correct BS number, which anything above 97 will be, then you'll get more difference from fresh 97 than stale 99.
  19. Of course they do, it's with the DVLA. They take you to court, and if your car was imported then the DVLA will know: If it was, then you have your defence right there.
  20. Oh I absolutely agree, if Scotland vote for independence I wish them all the best, it would be great to see a country with as proud a tradition become successful in their own right
  21. Have you seen the interior shots? That gearshift just looks absolutely perfect in terms of height and shape. SNICK SNICK
  22. SO MUCH WANT That's going to be amazing, as long as the electric steering isn't completely sh*t. With a lovely high-revving 2L lump in there, that's going to be a beauty of a car.
  23. Welcome to the future I'm still well into AC4, which I picked up last weekend now it's £40 not £54.
  24. The United Kingdom would still exist: Things didn't change when Ireland left in, did it? Article 49 says that all member states have to agree to the use of Article 48, which it's pretty unlikely that the UK would do. Spain wouldn't either, given the Basque situation. I cannot understand why the Yes campaign STILL carries on with insisting that they're keeping the pound. The three main political parties have already said no to this, so insisting it will still happen is madness. I agree that it remains a possibility, but then so does the fact that Westminster might actually follow through and take a few years pain if Scotland doesn't then pay off its share of the debt to spite. I've still yet to see any figures about Scotland's finances minus the oil. Do they exist? Just for the sake of the argument, let's pretend the following: 1. You don't get to keep the GBP. 2. You don't get automatic entry into Europe. Would you still vote yes?
  25. As close to the truth as anything I've heard from from the Yes camp.
