And how will that be more fun on track than the 370? Seriously, look at the cost to change and what two TDs will cost you in terms of tyres and brakes, and I reckon you could easy spend £3K on a track-spec MX5. Hell, my MR2 only cost me £4K with the turbo conversion and I can promise you that will show any BRZ86 or 370 in sensible (i.e. not stripped) road trim a clean set of heels. Depends on what you want though, I can see the pluses to having a road car that you track, as opposed to a track car that can go on the road.

For the record, I don't expect the mk2 to sell drastically better nor hold its value either. It's the wrong car in the wrong marketplace, sadly.
-
BRZ86 already has coilovers.
-
Depends. If you think that price will be very low then yes, I suspect they'll hold up very well

I'm just not keen on piggyback ECUs really, there's too much scope for something to go awry when it's intercepting then modifying a signal.

It's got a Unichip at the moment, which is what I'll be using for now. I would've liked to add something like a Link for that, however at a cost of around £1500 it would be a trifle OTT on such a cheap car. Depending on how I find the Unichip map, I may still go that route long term. A'Pexi used to do a Power FC for the 1ZZ, but that's long since discontinued. Nowadays it's just a case of picking any generic ECU and modifying it to work.

So one poll now shows the Yes camp in the lead, and the media goes crazy about it. Everything is changing, definitely going to be split up, Salmond wins etc. Completely ignoring that FIVE other polls are still showing No ahead, one by 14 pts! Honestly, I despair of the media sometimes, I really do.

Out of all the flaws I found with the BRZ86, the lack of power really wasn't one of them. I understand that people get their kicks from big power, but if you think the BRZ86 needs more power for regular road use then you need your head examined. It's perfectly judged in that regard.

Sad news Grundy mate Is it possible you mis-read the oil level? Crappy dipstick and all that. Either way, it's irrelevant now, just hope you get back on your feet soon bud. Could you not spend the money you were going to pay on a 2nd car on getting this one sorted? New engine £1500, fitting few hundred more, gotta be cheaper than buying a completely different car then having to insure that was well (so another policy with zero NCB)?

That's a real shame, there shouldn't be any need for anything like that. It's those kind of people that give decent Yes supporters a bad name.

McLaren are a shambles, I've long since given up supporting them in any way. Jenson needs to be leaving the sport after this year IMHO, make way for some new blood.

Oops, forgot to update! I got the car back last Saturday, however it doesn't go to the mappers until Wednesday. It was a really painful drive back, having to stay off boost, but every now and then I let the turbo spin up a fraction to hear that glorious noise Should be a hoot, can't wait for this week to be over. The car is also much quieter now too, which is an added bonus. I'm going to add a Lexan screen to the back of the hardtop as well, to reduce that huge weight sitting above the car, cost is only £200 + fitting. I asked them about the cage, and they can do a half cage based on their full one but with the front bars removed. Patrick said he's never been asked for one, but could find the cost if needed. I suspect it wouldn't be any cheaper than your one though, so probably not worth the bother. That said, the full cage isn't that intrusive really, so maybe worth looking at?

A 370 is going to be an expensive proposition to track, compared with a BRZ86. Personally I'd be keeping the 370, and then getting something cheap and cheerful for trackdays. You could get an MX5 for £1K, spend £2K on suspension, brakes and tyres, and have a much better track car than either. Work out the cost to change from 370 to BRZ86, then see if there's anything within that budget that would work for track use.

Lol at Williams being above Ferrari

^^^ This. And I suspect it'll be the vocal Yes camp that would do so. On another note, someone on another forum said that this is too big an issue to be decided on one vote. Really this should be done over three referendums over consecutive governments, and if all three votes are to the Yes then that's when the change should happen. Same thing if the UK ever gets an In/Out vote on Europe, that should be done over three consecutive votes as well. 15 years is enough to ensure that the population genuinely do want to stick or twist, the odd one is too random over something so life changing.

Numbers of 350 & 370 Zeds registered in the UK
Ekona replied to Turboextreme's topic in 370z General
Unlikely. I cannot think of any reasonable car that sold less than it's predecessor, that then held up better in value. The closest I can think of recently is the MR2, as the mk2 was massively popular and the mk3 much less so: Prices of good mk3s are still dropping, decent mk2s are firming up. If a car is unpopular, it's unlikely to have great residuals unless it was either limited or unusual in some way. As good as the 370 is, I wouldn't class it as either of those. Cue a whole bunch of other examples proving me wrong! -
Personally I'd prefer to look at the whole tyre and the capabilities rather than just one tiny part of it, but each to their own. Overall though the ADAC test proves those tyres to be very poor, hence the 17/19 placing. As always though, as long as you've done your research and are happy with your choice, that's all that matters.

http://www.adac.de/infotestrat/tests/reifen/sommerreifen/2013_Sommerreifen_Test_225_45_R17.aspx?ComponentId=160352&SourcePageId=31821 I don't speak a word of German, so have bodged stuff together from Google Translate: If I'm wrong, I'll put my hands up and admit it. However, to me it would appear that the N8000 came 17 out of 19 in that test. I cannot seem to find the exact braking figures in various conditions though. *EDIT* Wait, I found it, I think! On the individual tyre page when you click on it from that list, the scores are in the corner, correct? Nass is wet in German, so I used the N8000 figure of 2.3 as a point of reference. They don't give meterage, just a decimal figure (comparison number?). Contis, Michelins and Uniroyals scored better than the N8000, as I believe the smaller number to be better. Again, if I've misread that then apologies, I will happily bow down to any one who can speak a second language!

The proprietor is more than welcome to ask for burkas to be removed, if he can prove a security threat. That would be very easy to do so, same rule as UKBA use. Whether he'd still be in business after his shop was burnt down, is another matter altogether. It's why no-one in the mainstream media dares to make jokes or unflattering comments about Islam, and certainly never draws cartoons any more. Practicality vs realism.

I think the turnout will be very interesting. I suspect that Yes will win, purely on apathy from the No camp.
-
Not so sure. It almost looks a bit too flashy, and that style is now getting very old. Works well on the DB9 and Rapide, looks very dated on the Vantages and the Vanquish. Dat engine though

Fonts are currently wrong, in case you didn't know

That's because yours isn't a 370 Will

Coilovers all round, or half and half like the stock setup?
