  1. McLaren are a shambles, I've long since given up supporting them in any way. Jenson needs to be leaving the sport after this year IMHO, make way for some new blood.
  2. Oops, forgot to update! I got the car back last Saturday, however it doesn't go to the mappers until Wednesday. It was a really painful drive back, having to stay off boost, but every now and then I let the turbo spin up a fraction to hear that glorious noise Should be a hoot, can't wait for this week to be over. The car is also much quieter now too, which is an added bonus. I'm going to add a Lexan screen to the back of the hardtop as well, to reduce that huge weight sitting above the car, cost is only £200 + fitting. I asked them about the cage, and they can do a half cage based on their full one but with the front bars removed. Patrick said he's never been asked for one, but could find the cost if needed. I suspect it wouldn't be any cheaper than your one though, so probably not worth the bother. That said, the full cage isn't that intrusive really, so maybe worth looking at?
  3. A 370 is going to be an expensive proposition to track, compared with a BRZ86. Personally I'd be keeping the 370, and then getting something cheap and cheerful for trackdays. You could get an MX5 for £1K, spend £2K on suspension, brakes and tyres, and have a much better track car than either. Work out the cost to change from 370 to BRZ86, then see if there's anything within that budget that would work for track use.
  4. Lol at Williams being above Ferrari
  5. ^^^ This. And I suspect it'll be the vocal Yes camp that would do so. On another note, someone on another forum said that this is too big an issue to be decided on one vote. Really this should be done over three referendums over consecutive governments, and if all three votes are to the Yes then that's when the change should happen. Same thing if the UK ever gets an In/Out vote on Europe, that should be done over three consecutive votes as well. 15 years is enough to ensure that the population genuinely do want to stick or twist, the odd one is too random over something so life changing.
  6. Unlikely. I cannot think of any reasonable car that sold less than it's predecessor, that then held up better in value. The closest I can think of recently is the MR2, as the mk2 was massively popular and the mk3 much less so: Prices of good mk3s are still dropping, decent mk2s are firming up. If a car is unpopular, it's unlikely to have great residuals unless it was either limited or unusual in some way. As good as the 370 is, I wouldn't class it as either of those. Cue a whole bunch of other examples proving me wrong!

    NEXEN N8000

Personally I'd prefer to look at the whole tyre and the capabilities rather than just one tiny part of it, but each to their own. Overall though the ADAC test proves those tyres to be very poor, hence the 17/19 placing. As always though, as long as you've done your research and are happy with your choice, that's all that matters.

    NEXEN N8000

http://www.adac.de/infotestrat/tests/reifen/sommerreifen/2013_Sommerreifen_Test_225_45_R17.aspx?ComponentId=160352&SourcePageId=31821 I don't speak a word of German, so have bodged stuff together from Google Translate: If I'm wrong, I'll put my hands up and admit it. However, to me it would appear that the N8000 came 17 out of 19 in that test. I cannot seem to find the exact braking figures in various conditions though. *EDIT* Wait, I found it, I think! On the individual tyre page when you click on it from that list, the scores are in the corner, correct? Nass is wet in German, so I used the N8000 figure of 2.3 as a point of reference. They don't give meterage, just a decimal figure (comparison number?). Contis, Michelins and Uniroyals scored better than the N8000, as I believe the smaller number to be better. Again, if I've misread that then apologies, I will happily bow down to any one who can speak a second language!
  9. The proprietor is more than welcome to ask for burkas to be removed, if he can prove a security threat. That would be very easy to do so, same rule as UKBA use. Whether he'd still be in business after his shop was burnt down, is another matter altogether. It's why no-one in the mainstream media dares to make jokes or unflattering comments about Islam, and certainly never draws cartoons any more. Practicality vs realism.
  10. I think the turnout will be very interesting. I suspect that Yes will win, purely on apathy from the No camp.
  11. Not so sure. It almost looks a bit too flashy, and that style is now getting very old. Works well on the DB9 and Rapide, looks very dated on the Vantages and the Vanquish. Dat engine though
  12. Fonts are currently wrong, in case you didn't know
  13. That's because yours isn't a 370 Will
  14. Coilovers all round, or half and half like the stock setup?
  15. I can't remember which hangar it was in now, but the case was almost blink-and-you'll-miss-it small. I only spotted it due to the amount of people standing around it, and I wondered what the hell was going on. Yeah, I guess it was almost spiritual, if you replace the worshipping of a god for worshipping of technology. I just found it incredible that we as a species, despite everything, managed to get to space and bring a little bit of what's out there back for everyone to sample. If you stop for a moment and think about just how difficult that is, the obstacles that we needed to overcome, and the relatively limited technology (by today's standards) that achieved that, it's incredible.
  16. And "hot rod".
  17. Aliveboy! Have a good one Matt, enjoy yourself fella Yay I totally beat Steel Lynx to this one...!
  18. It might help if we knew why you wanted to know. Is there some particular functionality you want to replicate?
  19. Did you touch the piece of the Moon?! That was the bit I found utterly mesmerising, more so than even standing by the Saturn V.
  20. Okay, I got it the first time Whilst it makes a fair point, it also completely ignores how democracy works. If I voted Labour last time round, then the current government does not serve my purpose at all, regardless of where it's based. If people bothered to read what their local MPs stood for, rather than voted for the leader of the party, then they might actually get the government they want. People are stupid, and democracy has failings. That's nothing new. What happens if Scotland votes Yes, and then all power is transferred to Holyrood? Given that the population of Glasgow and Edinburgh is around 3.6M (Wiki figures) then does that mean that they will essentially be speaking for the vast majority of Scotland, and ignoring the other 2M who live outside of that area? Well, yes, it does. Will they serve their own interests? Of course they will: No-one ever votes for anything other than what pleases the individual: Again, that's democracy for you! Granted, I live pretty damn close to London, and I would imagine that for the most part what works in London will work for the more prosperous parts of Essex. That doesn't mean it always will, and certainly a Labour government would not suit my needs at this current time at all. It's all about how you view it, and whether you can accept that sometimes a central government works and sometimes it doesn't. Again, if Scotlanders are prepared to accept the rule of Holyrood instead of the rule of Westminster, then good luck to them and I wish them well. As long as everyone understands that it won't miraculously mean they'll suddenly be millionaires Rodney (and to be fair, no-one in this thread does), then that's cushty.
  21. The speed of the biker at the point of impact was irrelevant, as the car didn't see either the biker nor the white car travelling behind. If you're that blind, then you could hit something travelling at 2mph. If the biker had been doing 60mph, he'd still be dead now most likely. The car driver was incredibly stupid and will have to live with that, but the biker was fool hardy at every point up until the moment of impact. Two sides and all that.
  22. So you saw the Britain First thing on FB too, then. All I will say is do some research into Britain First and certain extremist right wing groups before sharing that around. More people rob petrol stations every year whilst wearing helmets than burkas. Likewise, there's a higher proportion of terrorists that are of Muslim descent than ride motorbikes. As such, I feel that it's fair to make biker remove helmets when buying fuel, and vice versa when entering the country. Oh, I have no doubt the racist card will be played here at some point, but it's very hard to argue with numbers at this point. It's the same reason that more coloured folks get stopped and searched than white folks: Purely, the stats say they're more likely to be carrying. Until stats say differently, I have no objection to groups being singled out. It's no different than myself being a white Essex lad being more likely to be stopped whilst driving a loud fast car than an elderly coloured gent, although slightly less likely to end up as front page news. Is that right, or fair? No, probably not. Until we end up living in Minority Report though, it's how life is going to be.
  23. Also, when fitting larger wheels be aware that they will make your car slower (in a straight line and round corners) as well as give a much harsher ride, unless they are extremely light and therefore extremely expensive. If you do have your heart set on those wheels, don't forget you can source tyres elsewhere. As others have said, offset is key here.
  24. Worked okay for me
  25. It's a fair point, but I wouldn't do it if there were pedestrians there. No excuse, though.
