  1. Oh wonderful. That won't be a waste of time at all, will it?
  2. Identical, as far as I can see. Did you order from DT or Opie? But yeah, no harm in mixing those whatsoever.
  3. The DVLA tell you what you need, on both my link and Colin's! Bloody hell, even the post office link tells you exactly the same thing. The Co-Op link is wrong. The DVLA are correct.
  4. That's the exact same thing! AskMID doesn't check your name either, it just checks the car. My car was not on the database, and no-ones is until they update it after about a week (for most insurers). That would make it impossible to buy VED under the new system. If the fact that the DVLA site itself doesn't convince you that you don't need insurance to tax your car though, nothing I can say will.
  5. You don't. https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax You'll need: completed V11 reminder (or your V5C) MOT test certificate if required (must be valid when the tax starts) the payment shown on the reminder My insurance on the BMW wasn't shown on the MIB database until a week after, but I was able to do the VED the same day I bought the insurance and the car.
  6. I had an advisory for passenger seat missing on the MR2
  7. I can do naked if you'd like?
  8. You don't need insurance to be able to tax a car, just an MOT.
  9. And, of course, it has to be a low miles car...
  10. He was on here today...
  11. It does kinda make sense actually, especially with those companies that have more than one person running them so you now know exactly who's posting what. But yes, it does make sending folks their way a little more awkward. Probably better this way on the balance of awkwardness though, I think.
  12. What was this car, and more importantly when the hell was it made?! Must've been a proper old car. As for your brake issue, take the wheels off and have a look. It'll be reasonably obvious which pads have material and which ones don't, and the ones that don't have probably eaten the discs too.
  13. 07 is for mobiles, 070 is for personal numbers. Biggest difference is that the latter can be accompanied by a call setup fee. http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/files/2010/01/numbering.pdf
  14. I did?! Lol, what a twit I now feel! No wonder I thought they were awesome!
  15. I'd go with Phil's numbers, they're pretty decent although I'd personally run with a bit more toe out at the front (5deg either side), but that really is just my preference. That's a really solid base to work from to figure out what you're after, thanks for posting Phil What settings do you run your BCs at, Adab? I had a play with some on a Zed recently, I think I settled around 10 from hard on the front and 14 from hard on the rear, but that was for road use. I'll have to check on those numbers, but I think they were around there.
  16. I just wanted to ruin their fun really. I'm distraught I missed such an opportunity

    X-wing Z

    Heh, that's quite good
  18. All we do know for sure is that the Porsche is fastest, since they're the only ones to reveal their Ring time
  19. The weekend.

    wheels security

Locking wheel nuts only cause trouble. If they want the wheels, they'll get the wheels.
  21. Kickstarter here we come!
  22. You either need a new-money Ferrari owner who doesn't give a fig, or one with enough clout that they might be able to get away with it. Does Nick Mason have his yet?
  23. I once drove from my house to JAE (90 mins)with the front end of my first MR2 protected by clingfilm
  24. In the world of the million dollar hypercar, prestige is everything. To openly have a car that is slower than your two rivals is like turning up to a posh ballroom wearing a toga. You'll never live it down, and you'll always be known as the slow one. Given how poorly both McLaren and Ferrari have been in F1 of late, they really don't want that to stick with their road cars too. The buyers of these cars can be fairly fickle, and will often go to where the top trump is (how else do you think Koeniggsegg stay in business?!). I think it's a huge shame for motoring that this will never happen, but in these days where the manufacturers are brands first and car makers second (looking straight at you, Marchionne), you can understand their POV.
  25. Trouble is, none of them have anything to gain by allowing the cars to go head to head, and everything to lose.
