BCs are very much at the budget end of the suspension range, however they are also incredibly good value. I run them on my track MR2, and I've tried them on a Zed. I'd be happy with a set, and I'm quite fussy about suspension things. With regards to 'better handling', what do you mean by that? What do you actually want the car to do, and what do you expect to change with a change of dampers & springs? Not being picky, I'm just wondering if there's other ways to get the car to handle like you want without spending a grand on suspension.

Can you not see where I'm coming from on this one? Bradders, yeah the BIN stuff is always fine, it's just the bidding stuff I don't think is right. That said, if everyone is happy that no-one gets a bargain, who am I to argue?
-
As much as I appreciate the thoughts behind this thread, all it does it to ensure that no-one gets a bargain. If everyone knows about an item going for cheaps, then everyone bids and bumps up the price, so you end up spending more and losing the good value. I have no issue with folks posting a direct link up if someone has specifically asked for an item, but this generic posting of everything Zed-related on eBay does Zed owners no favours IMHO. Not a dig at you Bradders, your motives are well placed, this is just a viewpoint.

I had some work done on the car this past week, as I felt it needed it. Clutch was slipping badly, so I had that replaced. Unfortunately when they got in there they discovered that it had been slipping so much that it had left hotspots on the flywheel. Now they did offer to skim it for me on the understanding that I accepted it would leave a judder when pulling away, which obviously I wasn't going to be happy living with. They then gave me the price of an OEM flywheel... Twelve hundred pounds. Erm, nope! Managed to get a LUK one instead for less than half that, just as good a job. The brakes also had a slight judder on them at light pressures, and we concluded that although there was plenty of meat left on everything (the BMW tells you how much, it was at least 10k miles) the only real option was to replace the lot due to slight warping and pad transfer. Luckily BMW do a service pack now as the car is so old, so they weren't as expensive as you might have expected. Still the wrong side of £600, but not that bad really. I also asked them to fully inspect the car. The only thing they could find was a slight weep from the oil filter (I had them do a minor service while it was there to sort this), and an even tinier weeny tear of oil from the RHS rocker cover. They said they wouldn't even bother touching this, as it's so minute that it's pointless to do right now. Other than that, they had no concerns which pleased me. A final bill of £2.5K wasn't great, but it does mean the car is mint and I've probably added at least a grand to the value with the works anyway. They're going to do a custom alignment for me as well, as the generic OEM setup I have isn't good enough for me. Thanks to Kyle for his help providing the M6 specs on that one.

It's a huge over-reaction because of what happened to Bianchi. Last year he's have been back in the car by now, but after the Jules incident they cannot afford to be seen to be cavalier about a head injury.

Perhaps they're lining up an excuse to only run a single car, seeing as they're having trouble even getting that one to complete a whole day right now.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Soon, I'll have every body thinking the same as me on here. The masterplan is unfolding as we speak...

I still hate Ferrari as a team, and as a brand, but I do like Seb. So yeah, I want him to do well but Ferrari to fail too I used to hate Alonso, I really did (go back a couple of seasons and watch me call him Alcocko in all F1 threads ), but his driving is just mesmerising. A bit like Lewis, although I started off liking Lewis the person and now I think he's a bit of a knob. If they could just make a driver with the skills of Hamilton and the personality of Ricciardo, I think I'd be in love
-
I just don't want anyone to get an F1 seat (especially a prime one like a Ferrari) when they clearly don't give two hoots about the sport. Kimi's a miserable git, and the dry stuff just isn't funny any more. Seb on the other hand, is quite a jolly and likeable fellow now, and I'd love to see him do well. I don't know why I dislike McLaren now. I used to love them when Lewis was there, but I think that's because I'm a Hamilton fan. They just seem to be a bit irritating lately, like they've got a god-given right to be there because of the history they have, and I'm also sick and tired of everyone getting so excited about Honda being back in the sport. Last time they were here they ditched an entire team on very short notice, and I'm glad it worked out terribly for them as they'd have had a CC to their name now if they'd stuck around. Honda can make decent engines, but they have zero experience in F1 for the last few years. Likewise McLaren haven't had a good car for a while now, so I have no idea why every one just expects them to win everything straight away. No-one on here is like that mind, it's elsewhere on the interweb that the fanboys are irritating me the most!

Oh, and I'd really like Ricciardo to carry on being awesome. If Lewis doesn't get the title, I want him to instead.
-
I want Hamilton to p*ss all over Rosberg, OR it to be a close fight but Rosberg acting like he did in the final race, and not like he did at Spa. I want the McLaren to be an utter turd. I want Alonso to out-drive Button in every single way. I want Seb to do the same to Kimi. I'd like Maldonado to leave the sport forever.

BWAHAHAHAHA £350,000 HAHAHAHAHA Sorry, no.
-
Oh wonderful. That won't be a waste of time at all, will it?
-
Identical, as far as I can see. Did you order from DT or Opie? But yeah, no harm in mixing those whatsoever.
-
The DVLA tell you what you need, on both my link and Colin's! Bloody hell, even the post office link tells you exactly the same thing. The Co-Op link is wrong. The DVLA are correct.
-
That's the exact same thing! AskMID doesn't check your name either, it just checks the car. My car was not on the database, and no-ones is until they update it after about a week (for most insurers). That would make it impossible to buy VED under the new system. If the fact that the DVLA site itself doesn't convince you that you don't need insurance to tax your car though, nothing I can say will.
-
You don't. https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax You'll need: completed V11 reminder (or your V5C) MOT test certificate if required (must be valid when the tax starts) the payment shown on the reminder My insurance on the BMW wasn't shown on the MIB database until a week after, but I was able to do the VED the same day I bought the insurance and the car.
-
I had an advisory for passenger seat missing on the MR2
-
I can do naked if you'd like?
-
You don't need insurance to be able to tax a car, just an MOT.

It does kinda make sense actually, especially with those companies that have more than one person running them so you now know exactly who's posting what. But yes, it does make sending folks their way a little more awkward. Probably better this way on the balance of awkwardness though, I think.
