  1. Someone mentioned the whole "You can't destroy an idea" thing, and along with that goes "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter". So I looked for vaguely modern parallels. The closest I could some up with was Northern Ireland and the IRA. How did we ultimately move forward in the peace process? We gave in and let them win, for the most part. Give them back their land, stay out of the way, and the terrorists as they've nowt to fight for. Now, I'm not saying that this is the same at all, and really if we simply left the ME to it then ISIS would end up ruling entire countries with massive military weapons which would be A Very Bad Idea Indeed. At some point though we need to either go in full force (you cannot tell me that the combined might of the US, GB, FRA, GER etc armies cannot destroy a ragtag bunch of terrorists if they *really* put their minds to it) so just pull out and wait until the dust has settled. And then go and kick some arse.

  3. They need to get the units out there to convince publishers they want to spend ££££ remastering or producing 4K content, because clearly we all crave it so much so we all bought new TVs. Y'know, like they did for 3D. Which is a massive success and popular with everyone. *tumbleweed*
  4. Oh great, here comes the tinfoil hat brigade...
  5. I once got a warning point for saying that on here. True story. Not that I'm suggesting you get one though!
  6. That's just a f*cking mess.
  7. The date running along the bottom (albeit someone's flipped the video) should have given it away
  8. Is it 2008 again already?
  9. Not the marshmallow man, I meant the cat!
  10. What's his/her name?
  11. Really isn't that easy. Wasn't that easy with the Taliban and IS are much more mobile and spread out, and are better armed. Just nuke the entire Middle East from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
  12. Curved TVs are horrible, spiteful things. They're a marketing dream, nothing else. There is zero benefit to them in terms of viewing angle or screen quality, and every penny spent on engineering a curved screen is a penny less spent on things that actually matter, like processing power. Also, with the screen off they reflect the light as if you were looking into the back of a spoon, which is horrendously distracting. I hate them. Passionately. Samsung yes though, all my recent ones have been from them with good reason. The 75" one in the main lounge is a thing of beauty. It's not 4K, but that's on purpose.
  13. Amen! Vaping is as disgusting as smoking, as I say that as an ex-smoker (yeah, no-one likes us!). Ban the lot and be done with it.
  14. Oh god. please don't tell me you bought the new NFS, it's f*cking awful
  15. It's all fighting over who's got the best pretend friend. But yeah, thoughts are with Parisians tonight.
  16. I stepped down years ago, essentially I felt I couldn't give the role the time it deserves. T'was good fun while it lasted
  17. Well, thought I'd say it before someone else did Some people think it's just a matey buddy club, but it's really not: I was chosen despite never having met any of the Team at that time, nor actually having been to any events/meets either. If you're a sensible person who can devote the time to the role AND remember that sometimes you have to do what's right for the forum rather than what's right for your pal, you'll get a call at some point.
  18. Secret handshakes and knowing winks Mods are selected based on nothing more than gut instinct really: A few names will get mentioned in the Team area, then everyone chimes in as to whether they think that person is suitable, then as long as no-one has any objections the invite goes out. Mods have to approve every for sale post so there's a lot there to do, on top of telling people like me off for calling people idiots when I think they're being idiots
  19. Good to see the training course is as efficient as ever!
  20. It's a stupid addition to a range that doesn't need expanding. It's oversized, overpriced and unnecessary. I'm getting mine Saturday.
  21. Woah, that's a massive influx! More mods than members soon 'Gratz guys
  22. And dick around in it you do very well, sir!
  23. I've seen a few vids where people have had issues, but then Skyrim was apparently broken on release but I never had a single issue there either. Maybe I'm just lucky I'd suggest the vast majority have a good experience with Bethesda games, rather than the minority. They're never perfect, but for me I'd take a flawed genius game over a bug-free average one.
  24. No, I genuinely hate the FF games. They're slow, clunky, confusing: Just a mess really. That said, I'm aware they're actually brilliant games and it's just a personal thing, so very much like TLOU which I also consider to be brilliant but I don't like.
