  1. Nope, only the person/company who made the plate. It's only an MOT thing, no law against not having it.
  2. Checking for air leaks post-MAF would be the first place I'd look.
  3. Any news on this Olly? Has the supplier agreed to take it back and refund you yet?

    tyres on a budget

People often cast judgement on "Eagle F1's" without stating which variation they are referring to. As Rich points out, they are on their 3rd model currently "Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3". I'm running them all around on the Zed, I highly rate them. As do alot of others if this is anything to go by: http://www.tyrerevie...symmetric-3.htm This is very true, and it's a pet hate of mine which I should've picked up on I'm on the same tyres as you. I decided to have a bit of a play with tyre pressures on the cars today after washing them, and it seems that the F1s get better if you massively drop the pressures. I'm now running 5psi (!) below standard on the Impreza, and feel seems significantly improved. Admittedly it's a lovely dry day which plays to the strengths of the Goodyears, but even so it's surprising. I'll have to keep an eye on the sidewall wear though. Also, that tyrereview site is a load of bobbins. Most people will always praise stuff they've paid money for, and 99% of them on there have no idea what they're talking about.
  5. Just give the money to Ilogikal and get him to put something together for you. What is the budget?

    tyres on a budget

We run F1s on our Impreza, and I really don't like them at all when things get slippery. Even with the 4WD, I find a distinct lack of grip but more importantly feel. In the dry they're fine, but in terms of feedback I'm really not impressed. The RE070s the Scoob is supposed to run with were much more communicative, even at the expense of wet grip. I've never found the MPSS to drop off significantly at low temps. How old/worn are yours?
  7. Actually, before we answer this I think we need to know if we're trying to talk you into it or out of it
  8. Depends if you want to spend £13K on 370 or not. I wouldn't, but you may want to.
  9. Just call your insurer. You pay them thousands of pounds over the years, it's really not worth the faff. What if he suddenly changes his mind when it comes to pay the bill? What if the repair job is crappy? What about a courtesy car? Just do the proper thing and call your insurer. Your premium won't rise any more than the 0.5% increase it's going to have because of IPT changes this year anyway. Utterly pointless to try and save £10 when fault isn't even in question. Although maybe don't park on yellow hatched lines in the future
  10. Sounds like the kinda thing I would say, and I just came here to say something very similar! But yeah, chuck anything in if it's low, but of course the closer you can get to what's in there, the better.
  11. Mine are here too, even looks like a close match to the wrap! Cheers for sorting Olly, will try and get these on this weekend.

    advice on my decats

Milltek is more expensive, although not popular so a straight swap would seem about right. They can be raspy with decats at times, and even boomy, but IMHO it's the only way to go for the noise you're after. Silenced decats with the above exhausts would also be a better option, but again you've got cost to think about.
  13. Trouble with 987 Spyder or R is trying to find one in the right spec, as a lot of people are holding onto them now. You'd want a Spyder with manual 'box, no AC, no stereo, pure as anything. The R should be PDK, AC, sat nav, the lot. Both with carbon buckets, naturally!

    advice on my decats

It's the Milltek fella, a quality piece of kit but at the quieter end of the scale. If you swap it out for something like a Cobra or Scorpion it'll prob be where you want it, or if you're feeling really brace go for an ISR exhaust: Ear splitting when under load, but utterly fantastic!

    advice on my decats

    Straight through decats then.
  16. Would it not be significantly cheaper just to replace the PF rotors, given that's a huge benefit of running two-piece discs? Or do you just fancy a change?
  17. I'd rather cry in a Ferrari than smile on a Raleigh
  18. I've done both. Working in a pub is superb fun when you're in the mood for it, as it's basically working with your mates at night and drunk people are (usually) funny. Pay was atrocious though, and still is in hospitality. Running a plumbing company definitely pays better, and it's not as horrendous as people think, but when stuff goes downhill it does so in a seriously bad way What do I prefer? Neither, really. Put a gun to my head and I'll pick a fun job over a well paid one though. But only because I've seen the other side and already had the nice things.
  19. Depends on what you want from life: Nice things, or not to hate getting up every morning. Very few people have both. Some unlucky sods have neither!
  20. Just move the bed out of the way a bit, there's loads of room then. Or take the Xbone downstairs and use the Big Telly when everyone is in bed.
