    350z Tyre choice

453 the best at that price. Although the MPSS are cheaper when you realise they'll last twice as long...
  2. I broadly agree with Docwra on this one. My experience with the S2K is from one very extended road test and one trackday at Anglesey. After the road test I then drove a 350 ragtop and decided straight away that was the right car for me, but on track the S2K was a billion times more fun than a stock 350. The S2K is a great car, and much like the 350 we'll never see another one like it again, but at the same time on the road it did get a bit weary waiting for the power if you weren't trying to be on it all the time. Of course that was flipped round on track, where the lower weight and the desire for revs made it so much more fun to thrape. As Doc says a Stook is harder to provoke by a considerable margin (even after the horror stories of a snappy chassis), so it depends on whether you want neat and tidy or sideways everywhere Splitting hairs though really, both cars are immense and I'd love to own either an S2K or another 350 in the near future.

    Tyre choices

Shame he's buying Pirellis now then Seriously Quinster, I would not be putting Pirellis on any car you drive in the wet. Horrible things.
  4. Very kind offer Although I'd suggest ditching the microfibres and getting one of their big f*ck-off carrot cakes instead

Match the fronts. If they're the 050A and you're happy with them, then just buy the same again.
  6. Proper trackday at the Ring would be worth doing.
  7. Also, welcome and good effort in snapping a propshaft, never seen that before on here!
  8. Sounds like the gearbox is shot. Knocking noises from that area, and the fact the 'box doesn't lock up in gear, not good. Replace that first.
  9. Not surprised at all, I can't see anyone without unlimited funds taking a risk on any of them.
  10. Nah, I just stuck around for eight years, that seemed punishment enough
  11. General car noise has never bothered me, I'm not really sure why. I guess some folks just have a lower tolerance for it than others. I quite like mechanical noisy things in general though, so maybe that's got a lot to do with it.
  12. Depends if you ever want to drive it or not. No point buying a low-miles car if you're intending on doing actual driving in it, as the premium paid isn't worth it. Given it's only a year old, how much worse could any other example of that year be?
  13. Hah, suddenly the Domenicali thing makes perfect sense! Always felt he got a bum steer after being booted from Ferrari. I'm not sure the Lambo brand is entirely suited to F1, but then it's definitely more suited than Audi is! Sauber are running on peanuts I think, and Manor aren't exactly stable either. Force India too to a lesser extent, and you have to wonder if Haas have the guts to run for a few more years if they don't get any further forward.
  14. Do you know, I got my first ever warning point on here many moons back for referring to coke and hookers! True story. Depends on the guy, I think. For one of our friends we went to a jazz club in London, another wants to drive to Monaco for the GP, I quite fancy a trip to NY at Xmas. Budget?
  15. More the opposite, they'll last ages and if I don't like them it's either a waste of money or I have to drive a compromised car. Shame I don't have a third car atm, just to chuck them on as a test.
  16. Don't fancy trying the MPS4 instead? I want to try them, but the mileage I expect to get from them is going to annoy me if I don't like them. And good on you for driving it in all weathers, especially in your neck of the woods! PS Sorry for the cyber stalking, this is my third reply in a row to you, not doing it on purpose it's just that you make interesting posts I want to reply to
  17. No-one was blaming him for the strikes at all. Juggalo predicts (probably correctly IMHO) that the strikes will get worse if Corbyn ever got into power, but blaming him for the current ones? Nope, not on here. I have no doubt that the TOCs try to save as much money as they can, but at the same time bad publicity does them no favours and they could just as easily see their franchise taken off them and given to someone else, so it's not in their best interests to p*ss too many people off. There's no reason that the driver can't do all of the things you mention, as long as there is a handover period and they understand what's expected from them. Guards will still be able to enter a live track to place the clips, won't they?
  18. It's not a fact, it's your opinion.
  19. Yeah, that's what I guessed. Why was the filter lane unavailable? I'm guessing that he misjudged your speed and expected you to be going quicker than you were when you let the other car merge ahead of you, so when he turned in he expected you to go. Or you may have slowed up unnecessarily, I don't know. Clearly his fault for running into you regardless, however that's tough to prove. He may say you swung out, or anything else that puts him in the right and you in the wrong. Regardless, it's not something I'd remotely worry about right now, you need to get further down the line and see what they say. Why would you have to get rid of the car if you lose your NCB? There'll always be an insurer willing to take you on for less, and given that you'll have to pay your excess anyway if it goes 50/50 you can simply put that cost against the repair bill of fixing it yourself. There's ways and means round it, just remember you're the customer and you can take your time deciding what to do. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat further, or if/when things progress a bit more and we can chat through your options in more detail. Don't panic my friend, we'll sort this out in your favour somehow, promise.
  20. £65 is not going to get your car professionally polished, certainly not to any standard I'd be happy calling professional at any rate. Have you got rid of all the sap yet? That's your first hurdle, and it's a relatively easy thing to do with a clay bar and lubricant. Once you've done that, you can start worrying improving the look of the paint, but one thing at a time.
  21. The next election will probably be the most boring one for decades, assuming Corbyn stays. I can see UKIP getting more votes than Labour come the next election if Corbyn pursues his socialist agenda with the vigour he appears to have.
  22. I'm assuming he has less than 3 years, else it would be protected and nothing to worry about. Or is it 5 years when you can protect it? Or is that guarantee it?
