  1. Just tell them what steering wheel you're changing to, let them figure out if it's an airbag one or not.
  2. I think it also depends on whether or not it's an only car, or a 2nd fun one. Only car would be horrendous, 2nd car I could probably live with.
  3. No, they won't pass new MOT regs as you are not allowed to remove any OEM airbag at all, UNLESS the car is substantially modified for a different purpose eg a rally car, or track car. Your friendly MOT guy might consider a set of wheels and a new stereo as modified, or he may consider anything less than a fully stripped & caged car to be not modified enough. Always interpretation, but you'd be unlikely to win any appeal if the tester knocks you back. In terms of danger, some would argue no airbag is actually safer as you're not putting an explosive device aimed at your face I personally don't subscribe to either extreme of "REMOVING IT WILL KILL YOU!" nor "OF COURSE IT'S SAFER, MY MATE BROKE HIS NOSE WHEN HIS WENT OFF AT 5MPH!", but removing airbags in general has never worried me. I know the risks, I'm an adult, I'll make my own decisions regarding my own safety ta.
  4. 10 min drive I might live with, but an hour on the round trip just to refuel? That's an awful lot of time essentially wasted. I think you're underestimating just how irritating that would be, or how much planning is required to make life as easy as possible. Imagine having to drive to Loughton every single time you needed some fuel: That would quickly suck the life out of ownership.
  5. Honestly, if I were you I'd either not worry about it and pray I get lucky and I can sell the car before it dies on me, or sell up and get a HR model.
  6. What 350 do you have? If it's a HR then you're fine, no issues at all. If it's a DE car then you'll need to limit yourself to the lower RPM (like 2500revs tops), which isn't much fun. Octane booster will work a treat, however for long term use you'll want some good stuff that does it properly, not just a small bottle you chuck in with every tankful (although they're fine in an emergency). Leaded fuel is a no-go, you'll kill various bits in the engine. I see no reason why you couldn't get it mapped for 95 though, just means you'll lose a slug of power.
  7. "When choosing the colour, he's gone for Grigio Telesto Lamborghini Grey because well, why would you not?" Because it looks like cheap primer?
  8. And if I could've got a Cayman for £6K, then I'd have bought one instead of the BMW!
  9. Just go and drive one, it's the only way to know. For me personally I wouldn't, as there's other cars I'd rather be driving for that kind of money. Like a Cayman.
  10. Can I make a genuinely constructive criticism? If you're going to ask for money that's right at the top in terms of value, then you really need to be putting more detail into the advert. Simply saying more pics and details on request isn't really good enough, people who don't know the car or history will simply think you're being wildly optimistic and ignore it as overpriced: PH don't limit the text, so use it and point out service history, mods, how you've looked after it, why you did what you did etc. Make it worth the money, don't expect the buying public just to accept that a Revup with a standard engine should be worth as much as a good HR on face value. More detail is always a good thing
  11. Mass Effect Andromeda. Nothing else matters in the slightest. Also, I expect big things from Assassin's Creed 27 since they've had an extra year to do it. And if the Scorpio isn't the game changer it should be, with MS having learnt from the debacle of the original Xbone launch and the weakness of the PS4 Pro, then I'll be massively disappointed.
  12. You can always fab something up, might need to adjust the floor pan though (cut out any humps etc) so you can get proper flat.

    MOT time.

Go to Halfords, Kwik Fit, or simply stay with the car on that case.
  14. Bucket seats normally sit higher than OEM, unless you get custom mounts or bolt direct to the floor pan. I'd have said that adjusting your position is the way to go. The 350 seats do go pretty low, and can enable an excellent (and correct) poisition. You say they're not comfy, that could be due to a poor position you've got them set to. If you change it and accept it may feel odd for a while, you could be much better off long term. Drop the seat as low as possible, get your legs so that you can fully depress the clutch without locking your leg, then adjust the backrest so that when your arms are stretched, your wrists rest on the steering wheel. That should be perfect, albeit it does feel odd at first! Of course, I may be teaching you to suck eggs and you've done this, in which case it's custom mounts for you sir

    MOT time.

It's just an MOT. Take it to the local family run garage, chuck a bit of business to your local area.
  16. Just remove the airbags themselves, easy. No point carrying weight you don't need.
  17. Yup, it's a crock. Go and stay gone.

    Aftermarket Seats

Make the trip. 3 hours is nothing, you're going to spend 1000x that in driving time so you have to know they'll fit perfectly and be comfortable. I highly recommend GSM, they were super helpful when I took the 2.5hr trip to see them. I tried every seat, moved them around in the showroom, pulled apart the seat bases to try different ones etc. Massively worth the trip.
  19. Some do, some don't. My insurance went down after my accident a few years back, and again this year after the lorry driver ran over the BMW in April. So if you take your car for a service, and the garage snaps the exhaust hanger by accident, and they then replace it for you, do you have to notify then? What about if they drop a spanner and have to get the wing resprayed? Where do you draw the line? I think if you look at it that way, you can see that it would be unrealistic to have to notify your insurer if a company damages your property.
  20. Didn't even know you could still get the original Cups!
  21. Your car is crying inside because you've not driven it enough
  22. I didn't even read Blyton, I only saw the airfield one old age, dodgy eyes etc.
  23. It's not a claim (not his policy), not an accident (obvs), and not loss (he's not out of pocket or lost anything). It was damage that occurred when the car was being worked on by someone else. It's their liability, nowt to do with the OP. If a tradesman damages a counter top when installing your washing machine, do you declare it to your home contents insurer? How about if someone damages your watch when servicing it, and they replace the glass? Contents again? Nope. I know you work in the industry bud so I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but in no way would that affect his insurance at all. 100% wouldn't need to declare, that just wouldn't make sense. The car wasn't his responsibility when the damage happened.
  24. I've been playing Watch Dogs 2 (superb commentary on modern life as well as a great sandbox), but even better was System Shock 2. £1.74 on Steam, 17 years old, and utterly brilliant. If you've never played it, you really must. The story holds up incredibly well, and even the graphics & controls are on the acceptable side of old school. This must've been terrifying to play when it first came out, and if ever a game was ripe for remake you'd hope it was this. Seriously, it's a couple of quid, what have you got to lose?
