    Who will win???

Never knew they had plastic rear screens. They have just gone up in my estimation. But not by much.
  2. McLaren themselves have 16 2016 cars available on their website... Okay, I'll stop now, point made...
  3. There's 46 McLarens from the Sports and Super Sports series from 2016 for sale on PH alone right now. A couple are 0 miles, a couple are LHD, but even ignoring those that's well above the 18.
  4. I highly doubt McLaren only sold 18 cars in the UK last year. They have 6 showrooms, so that would mean they only sold 3 cars per dealer, or one car every four months. I'm sure they're profitable, but they're not that profitable!
  5. No, you'd go anywhere else to get to Amsterdam. Hull truly is the armpit of the world. Apart from maybe Bradford.
  6. No-one ever goes to Hull out of choice.
  7. Why spend all that money loving something you only use half the time? You can still keep something in good condition and use it all the time. You could save your self £10K and just stare at a picture if you just want something pretty to look at

They're awesome. Anything with a plastic rear window is okay by me

I think you're massively overestimating the 370. I think the times may be closer, but the Megane would still win. Rarity is the most pointless reason for owning a car ever.

Both cars were hooned to the limit and beyond, to me. 2 secs is an age on a track like that, just shows how competent the Megane actually is. Never driven a Megane, but if it's anywhere near as much fun as a Clio then I can see why people would buy one over a 370. £10k less, quicker in all conditions, cracking chassis, more practical... Unless you really want the V6 noise, why get a 370? But yes, I'd always choose an average RWD car over a good FWD car too. I prefer my driven wheels at the rear, more fun to play with.

    Brake Judder

Then no need to use the Brembo advice I'm not saying they're wrong, far from it as that may be what their pads and discs need, but you should go on what those materials are made from as the caliper is irrelevant. My technique (which I've cribbed together over a few years from a few manufacturers) is based on creating an even heat transfer to bed the pads/discs. First off you apply light pressure to gently warm the faces up, then harder to warm the middle, then hardest to ensure both surfaces have got nice and toasty. That makes logical sense to me. Some pads and discs may need more applications(endurance stuff) or less (sprint stuff), but in general the technique I mentioned will work for the vast majority.

Do you have brembo pads and discs?
  13. Or air release valve, as I discovered the other day in the Subaru OEM nomenclature. CBV is a new one on me though, ta

60-10-60 won't do anything, you want to get the disc to different temps, not the same temp. 50-30 light pressure x5 70-40 med pressure x5 100-40 hard as poss but before abs x5 With 10mins of 60mph without touching the brakes in between.
  15. Really nice guy in real life too, as his is wife.
  16. In that case yes, your y-pipe is aftermarket and designed to work with your exhaust, whatever that is.
  17. TBH that's the going rate, I'd be happy with that.
  18. They look standard to me, but then I can't see them clearly as they're at the back of the pic.
  19. How do they compare in the damp/greasy stuff to the 888s?
  20. That's looking really good I'll have to get a pic of my collection up when I get home, keep meaning to.
  21. MPSS (of course!), but then it was on these from day one (or day two, after I picked her up). The car was absolutely fantastic on the OEM suspension in terms of feel into a corner, there was just too much body roll hence me changing it for something better. Well, and the fact that 100k dampers are clearly not going to be as good as new ones anyway. I was able to walk away from my mate with the Gallardo in Wales such was the confidence I had in the car, but I've really struggled to get that back ever since. All my little tweaks (adjusting the front ARB, adjusting the balance front to rear on the dampers, adjusting the toe/camber) have helped, but I'm still not there and I'm fed up of faffing It's the one drawback to doing too much at once: You don't know what caused the 'problem'. I did wheels with spacers, dampers and ARBs at the same time, so I don't really have the time to fiddle with each one to get it right. Funny you mention the 888Rs though, as I'll be getting a set for mine once the MPSS run a bit lower. I suspect it'll be superb fun
  22. Yeah, I just read that Feel sorry for the guys working there, but even with a Merc engine they were dreadful last year. Move over, let someone else have a go.
  23. Given that I'm *still* faffing around with suspension/geo settings trying to get this thing to feel right, I've decided to bite the bullet and have booked her in at Center Gravity for a full day chassis tune. They're the same folks I took my 911 to when I wanted the car to feel a bit less planted and more rear-engined, which Chris certainly managed to achieve. This time I want the opposite, as I'm still lacking confidence on front end turn in and through high speed corners. The car will take them happily at pace if you man up and put your foot down, but it just feels floaty and unsure. It's much, much better than it was, but I know it can be better still. It's not a cheap day, but I know it'll be worth every penny. I'm booked in for the 20th, so I've got time to get the bits the MOT picked up on fixed as well beforehand. Then I can start getting some trackdays booked up! :D
  24. I guess I don't really mind Murray being knighted, it just annoys me that they've done it whilst he's still playing: For me, a knighthood should come long after your career has ended, when it can reviewed in a fairer light.
